  • Find our how much I got paid as a SECOND year doctor in Australia.
I will show you a detailed breakdown of my payslip including how I read my payslip. In this payslip, there is some overtime, public holiday payments, meal allowance and also continual medical education allowance. I will show you how much I get taxed from my income and what else I spend it on, including having to repay my government loans (HECS/HELP debt) and also pay the Salary Packaging Company.
DiT PAYCHECK (How to Check Your Payslip is Correct)

Can’t thank DiT paycheck enough for its utility and simplicity in reading my own payslip. It can be overwhelming and confusing reading everything so having a resource like this, takes it out of the “too hard” basket and makes it very digestible.
Salary Packaging Company my Hospital uses (each health service uses a slightly different company)

Why does PH rates vary in public vs private hospital sectors( 250% vs 150% rate) difference is quite significant to me!

83K/yr as a SHO. Lol. You're financially better off avoiding uni and joining Maccas. By the time someone would make SHO you would become a manager making 150K and be held responsible for fries not lives. Not to mention compound interest from investments.
