Beautiful stuff. Came here looking to see if I couldn't be convinced that Fractal can produce good clean/edge of breakup sounds, but I stayed through the video for the playing. Very nice!

My go to Fender clean is the Band Commander. It takes drives really nicely.

agreed. that is the only clean amp model i've ever heard from any manufacturer that captures the solid low-end bloom of a nice Fender tube amp. it's pretty great.
i also like building dual-amp patches with the Band Commander and a Vox/Matchless/Wreck amp set to semi-dirty. very cool clean-with-haze around the notes type tone.

I've been struggling for a year to get a really clean, crisp single coil Strat sound with presence and clarity on my FM3. This is the foundation! Thanks John!
(P.S. - tried this with my EMG DG-20 active P/U/ Strat! Wow!)

What kind of music can this be called? I know it's a demo but I'm interested in knowing if there are bands that sound just like this video

Check out John Cordy's UA-cam channel. He has a lot of tutorials on his style - he's absolutely amazing

The video is called "Setting Up a Live Preset for FM9" but I assume it's the wrong title?

Cleans are easy. My $200 MG30 sounds about the same, swell reverb and all. I also had a FM9 so I can compare.

@@gabrieladdenbrooke1964 I sold the FM9. It was an awesome and powerful unit but I did not feel like taking the time to learn it. It was not at all intuitive. Even once I learned it, it's too many process steps to do things. Changes really need to be mapped out on a PC and imported to the FM9.
Fast forward, I bought a really nice tube amp and about 10 pedals. They are dead simple to dial in great tone and in total it cost about the same as one FM9- and that is with the head. I have cabs already. They are different animals though. If you are playing a set, the FM9 has a setlist feature built in so you can navigate song parts and entire patches with a few clicks. The FM9 is far better in every way than the smaller, cheaper FM3. For me, the sweet spot would be a highly intuitive (new UI needed), FM6 but they have not made one yet. It would have a smaller form factor and be as easy to use as many other modelers.
Fractal is great gear, don't get me wrong. They just need to make the UI more user friendly. Could I learn it- yes. Do I want to take a $120, 15+ hour Cooper Carter Master Class to do so- not really.
