      Here's something I had never known about this song (from Wikipedia): "In the summer of 1978, the Gibb brothers announced their latest project at a news conference at the United Nations in New York City. All of the publishing royalties on their next single would go into UNICEF, to celebrate the International Year of the Child, which was designated to be 1979. The song earned over $7 million in publishing royalties."

Are they more concerned with what their guy friends think than what their woman would think????? Gen Z men are missing out on real LOVE because they do not know how to share their HEARTS and SOULS with their women---so they can never experience REAL intimacy.......These women (and probably all Gen Z women) are FAMISHED for REAL words of LOVE--to be taken into a man's arms and LOVED, not just have sex with them. For the men to share their HEART with them....The Gen Z generation NEEDS a revival in LOVE songs......People everywhere need to get out their 70's hit love songs and play them on boom boxes EVERYWHERE to teach this generation of men, how to LOVE a woman..... Oh, I forgot--another couple that was listening to another Bee Gees song (Staying Alive) said that they'd heard parts of the song before, but that they had thought the singers were BLACK men---they could not Believe that they were WHITE--it was so funny to see how shocked they were...

He was imitating a Marvin Gaye type singer and everyone’s jaw dropped-and that’s how they found this sound. Incredible band.

      It is so sad, but,--on another channel, when a guy was listening to this--he said that Gen Z NEVER hears songs with these kind of lyrics(Heartfelt lyrics) --he said that "GenZers can't talk about real love--it is only about SEX, booty etc etc"........He said Gen Z men 'can't' talk about this, because it would be a big 'L" (loss) WHAT???

    Absolutely amazing 3brothers the BeeGees always first and foremost considered themselves song writers before being vocalist, although they were amazing talented vocalist, No audio tune or voice overs or lip syncing just pure genius and talent, They have written songs for many artists including Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton and kenny Rogers, and many others artists also songs for films, To much heaven was a huge hit and the Bee Gees donated the proceeds money to a childrens charity , they have hits over 6 decades and have sold over 250 million albums worldwide, great reaction thanks 🙏

    The bee gees during their career also held the top four spots on the 100 billboard charts making them the only group to do so. No other group can lay claim to that. It was during the time when the block buster movie Saturday night fever hit the sliver screens with their songs for the soundtrack. They almost won a few academy awards for best original songs. Sadly though, because of rumors they didn't get to win. It was told later that their soundtrack songs were all written by them sparking a new wave of hits later on. Since then, the Bee gees went on to become one of the most successful singing bands of all time. And the fact that each brother learned numerous instruments which made them the most versatile group in the music industry. They also wrote songs for top billing icons like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, even Brittany Spears of all people. And they always wrote, produced, edited, mixed and foley effected all of their tracks themselves. They didn't need to rent a studio since they had their own to work with.

    I'm really shocked! I can't imagine that there is anyone who doesn't know this band and their songs. After all, they have been in business for 60 years and have created countless #1 hits. Where have you lived until now? On another planet? What fascinates you so much is called the falsetto voice and the 3 brothers brought it to perfection. Unfortunately I have to tell you that the twins Robin and Maurice passed away more than 10 years ago, Barry, the guy with the full beard and the magnificent head of hair, is still alive, but is also 76 years old. Incidentally, the Gibb brothers have written countless hits that have been sung by a number of other well-known stars (Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Barbra Steusand, Celine Dion, etc.)

      In fairness, there's a generation(s) of youths that don't know the Bee Gees music. I'm a 50-ish GenXer, so mid-70's on up is my JAM...but it's absolutely normal for those born in the 90's onward to not have an ear at ALL for this period...ESPECIALLY the disco era. That era might be my favorite in that time frame, but sadly, it hasn't been given the enduring respect like "classic rock" has.

    • @tomfrank9447
      @tomfrank9447 Рік тому +2

      @@peterdarker1 I don't want to dispute that, but my children are, for example, children of the 90s and know the Bee Gees. Not that we heard them all the time. My grandchildren are also familiar with the Bee Gees, even if they may not know them by name, but they recognize one or the other well-known song and sing loudly - and wrongly :-) - along. However, if the musical spectrum is limited to only a few genres, then... it's just a shame that great music is forgotten so quickly!
