If ANYTHING, Eric and Cornette want AEW to improve their product for longevity. Broaden the audience and focus on advertising and beating competition. They have both worked in and against WWE and understand the business. Real fans want AEW to succeed but if the product is nauseating and ONLY pleasing a portion of a once massive audience....it will dwindle.
Exactly, it's the weirdos that only like AEW because they hate WWE that praise everything Tony does that really hurts the company. The real fans care about it and want to see it succeed regardless of anything, but will tell you when it's not good
No they don't they are both sour because they think they know all and they failed AT least Cornette is great at wrestling history Bischoff is just a useless twat who' main claim to fame is having his head up Hogan's ass, destroying one company and almost a second.Screw that jackass,
Because they're the exact representation of what the most vocal people want. They're trying to please everyone; even if it means being a walking contradiction. This is even evident in their tweets.
They’re just protecting their paycheck. Bischoff nailed it here, the only other stops left for them after AEW is TNA or New Japan. WWE doesn’t want them and wouldn’t use them. Maybe I’m off here but it also doesn’t seem like FTR are really high up on Tony’s fanboy list. Dax is taking every opportunity to attach his lips firmly to the meal ticket’s ass in hopes of changing that.
Also, Eric Bischoff has a point about the backstage garbage happening in AEW being part of what's holding the company back from thriving. In fact, more people are glued into the backstage drama than the actual product and its "talent" 🤣
to the point where some of their storylines are worked backstage drama (Is MJF leaving? did Jack Perry tear up his contract? etc) which doesn't help actually at all. it just draws attention to the negative things that DID happen backstage. Sure it makes things more 'real' but it's not the real most of your audience is looking for.
@@davidlewis5312 Exactly. It's sad that they always take the behind the scenes drama and turn it into storylines. Are the bookers that bad that they can't come up with their own material?
Crazy thing is Dax said in a interview a couple years ago that he doesn't get offended when the people who have paved the way for them and the wrestling business can critique and say whatever they want because they earned the right to do so was all that just bs or he just wants to keep the money flowing by kissing Tony Khan ass and telling him he's a great Booker and the perfect boss
FTRs gimmick is tough guys but they get offended over every little thing. Like you covered a year ago they were kissing ass.. now they’re chasing their money mark boss around with a dead pan cleaning his shit up because he pays them to and they’ll lap it up. And I like FTR as a team.. but outside of wrestling I can’t pay attention to them.. maddening.
How can Dax call Eric a miserable old podcaster. Pay respect to a legend - who has a right to speak his opinion on his own podcast just the same way FTR and everyone else in the elite and AEW does.
My favorite part was when he followed the script by bringing up Eric & ONLY Eric by name. If Tony Khan charged money for the space in his head that people live in now for free, AEW would be profitable.
Conrad man your a hard listen. Eric and cornette are right about AEW. It's a cluster fuck. Furthermore they have earned there right to have there opinions. You on the other hand are a mark fan like the rest of us. Let eric lead the pod.
Brutal to hear something so obviously incorrect from Dax especially the part about Bischoff making a living off of a podcast. The podcast could have never existed and I'm sure Eric would be just fine. I can understand being sensitive to a certain point but when so many people are saying the same things, when they're people who know what the F they're talking about like Bischoff & Cornette, you might wanna drop the sensitivity & start hearing what they're saying. There's definitely a middle ground but some of these AEW mentalities are just self destructive. But I get it. Most guys including FTR are kinda stuck in AEW unless they wanna work without a deal. Sure they could go back to WWE but they wouldn't be a big deal. It would be "oh cool the Revival are back... wonder where they've been" for half the WWE audience
Yeah, Dax needs to be careful on how he's shooting from the hip these days. I get he's gonna stand up for hid company, but that really only goes so far, especially when trying to fuel rumors of going to wwe like he was right before they signed. He might start looking like a boy crying wolf.
FTR are AEW guys thru and thru. Tony Khan put 20 belts on them so they could be "the greateset tag team". And you know he would have mentioned Cornette, but he praises them all the time, despite his hatred for AEW. So he gonna tow the company line and praise Tony Khan. And yeah, Dax is a clown for tweeting respect and support one day then talking crap the next. But they cried on twitter when they weren't getting a push in AEW their first year.
He didn't mention Cornette because he was not up for a verbal evisceration that day. Especially since he knows that Jim Cornette isn't particularly off-base in what he says about the product, the company, or the way it is presented. Some hills aren't worth even climbing, let alone dying on.
It's just Dax protecting his money mark. It isn't anything more complicated than that. Once people leave or AEW goes under, then people will talk. Wrestlers don't turn on a money mark until the money dries up.
Is Conrad seemingly always trying to create drama? Bischoff has such a wealth of knowledge and experience these other guys seem offended by it... I never was a huge fan of Bischoff ... but the more I listen to him the more I respect the man
The only problem with Dax's comment is Eric Bishoff HAS worked in the business, been a booker, run a company, so his opinion will always be valued. He should be at liberty to criticise.
Its interesting how years ago Eric talked about Verne Gangia having a nice home on some land that the state really wanted. And they made his buisness live hard as they could to get him to sell it off. Years latter Eric wold be in a simmilar situation and managed to get out on top. Verne taught him a lot.
Gotta remember that FTR re-signed with AEW just half a year ago. They’re locked in at the moment. So yah, he’s not going to trash the company and he’ll defend it when asked. That’s why he’s focusing on the wrestlers in the defence and their livings, because that’s all true. It’s also not something that anyone that criticizes AEW complains about. Nobody has a problem with that, but the viewer matters when you have a product like this, and if the show isn’t up to snuff and there’s terribly managed stuff backstage that has bled into the discourse, it gets criticism. I kinda wonder if they would have re-signed had they known what would happen to Punk and WWE just a few months later. Because there ARE people in that locker room that don’t like FTR (I mean, Dax was bullied out of doing his podcast). But the work schedule I think is what enticed him most. They probably would never go back to WWE given how they left, but crazier things have happened, having it run by people that aren’t Vince could be a big positive in that regard.
Cornette and FTR got an interview long ago back then and he literally always praises FTR and everything other than their booking, FTR knows Corny believes in them, but we all know he knew who Dax was talking about
Telling the truth about AEW's awful booking is not "burying AEW." Its called being honest instead of being a mindless zombie. Honesty is what AEW needs to hear so they can improve. It's called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. Dax doesn't know what he's talking about. Or he does and he's just lying to protect his money and make his mark boss happy.
AEW in it's entirety including their fans don't want constructive criticism. If you aren't drinking the punch then you are the problem, that's how they think always. Plus alot of the wrestlers are gonna defend the company because they get paid twice as more than anywhere they've ever been and get to do whatever they want with friends with very light schedules. They will do anything to protect their spot
Dax…what do you actually want from podcasters/reviewers of the show? You want them to pretend to like the show because…it employs you? Come on. All Bishoff is doing is giving an opinion. If they say the show is bad prove them wrong. Also, Conrad, probably don’t pick a fight with Cornette, you won’t win lol
Dax sure does alot of whining about other people. Seems like a soft fellow. But seriously, that's great all these wrestlers are making money but do they not realize that if their company was actually successful, they'd all be making way more money? Maybe people like Dax should be speaking up more about the state of their company rather than making excuses because they get a paycheck.
The company is doing good lmao it’s funny how you wwe fans want aew to fail so bad why? It’s more jobs for wrestlers and it offers another opportunity you wwe fans suck off wwe so much it’s like you guys think John cena or triple h himself is gonna give you a hug for defending wwe 😂😂😂
It not like Eric ran WCW and worked for WWE for years..... Oh no, what would his podcast be about without AEW??? Lol, some of these guys just say the dumbest stuff
Ive always loved this show but this episode really enforces it. Conrad showing he really cares about his guests and its not just a business thing. Also, very open and honest from Eric. Great stuff guys and keep up the great shows.
Tony giving wrestlers jobs is great, but that doesn't make him immune from valid criticism, of which there is a great deal. It's like saying you couldn't criticize WCW in 1999 and 2000 because they employ alot of wrestlers, or TNA when they were awful, or WWE in 1995 or most of the 2000s. My guess is Dax never really sat down and listened to Bischoffs criticisms and just heard "oh Eric is bashing AEW and Tony again...)
I get why Dax is taking that stance. As Bischoff said, he is being a company man which is fine. But it’s ridiculous how much of the AEW talent and upper management are so thinned skin and act as if AEW is this glorious product with no flaws. Also, it’s nice that TKhan employs people, but bragging how he provides jobs is no different than any other business in the world. AEW isn’t turning profits either so we’ll see how long TKhan keeps employing people once his daddy shuts off his inheritance money
FtR are hilarious they are like stop picking on Tony Khan and his horrible booking. He's paying us good money please stop being mean to him. Seriously, if we don't point out the bad in AEW, how will we ever get anything good?
I love FTR, but Eric has been right on many occasions about Khan and AEW. Most don't like the truth on certain matters. It's obvious what this podcast does, it tries to discuss correlations between now and then WCW and there's nothing wrong with that.
“The other podcaster he’s friends with” is Jim cornette, who also buries tony Kahn on every show. But cornette is a big fan of theirs so Dax would never mention him.
I think it's a combination of that and knowing that having that name in his mouth is going to do absolutely nothing beneficial for him. He can't stand toe-to-toe verbally so it's egotistical suicide, even if Cornette wouldn't actually say anything worse to FTR than, "Well, this is why I don't give anyone praise anymore. Nice knowing ya, guys."
Alan Counihan on PW Torch has mentioned at least once that Harwood was said by the NXT locker room to be extremely annoying and disingenious, always looking for things to say that will make him come across as palatable.
FTR is so overrated. Eric is the only man on Earth who’s beat Vince McMahon at his own game, for almost 2 years straight nonetheless. I will say… AEW has FINALLY started incorporating story, mystery, and suspense in their product. But it’s probably too little too late, because WWE has all the momentum now. Dax was wrong for taking a shot at Eric… just sayin… 🤷🏾♂️
Conrad “I paid for the dinners every chance I got, so ya know, I’ve enhanced their careers” 😂😂😂😂 Yuck we get it. Your daddy’s money bought you some wrestling buddies. You’re Francis from Pee Wes’s Big Adventure. You can buy any “toy” you want.
Mr.Bischoff you are the real wiseman of professional wrestling. If they really listened to both you and Jim Cornette they will see that you guys want them to succeed.
Tony’s action figures aren’t stupid. While they know he’s a clown, they also know that they can get overpaid for literally the rest of their lives by sucking up to Tony. Even though they know he’s full of shit.
ConMan saying Jim whole show is base of AEW is pure nonsense. Like I know your on the AEW bus but damn u clearly don’t listen to Jim show if he really thinks that
What got me was comments about how Tony gave jobs to old timers who would be miserable at home. It was worded a little insulting. Given the gimmick Dax has is old timer, it’s a little rich. Why can’t folk’s understand Eric wants the product to grow. I stopped watching AEW when they took the Title off Hangman and put it on CM Punk, and the relentless troupe suicita’s, dive onto 6 men, nonsensical turns, and confusing storylines.
I think FTR are an excellent team, really enjoy their matches 👍I think somewhere along the line the star ratings of a certain wrestling journalist may have put a bee in their shorts ⭐⭐⭐
As much as I want to hear from some of these wrestling personalities, it is Conrad that causes me to tune out. I can't really explain it but I just find his personality/presentation irritating.
Re: the California Franchise Tax Board is THAT petty. Trust. They're so bad, they'll turn a regular traffic ticket into a tax and then apply retroactive interest to pump it up.
Pretty sure nobody hates the fact of another company or the wrestlers getting the bag most people have a problem with Tony being unprofessional and not taking responsibility for company and employees.
AEW appeals to a portion of the audience, WWE has a broader audience, if AEW wants to thrive they need to keep Tony Khan off of Twitter, and figure out the best way to solve the drama backstage.
to Harwood's comment about changing things for the positive I am going to say one thing I am deeply concerned about AEW's mindset towards health when both Paige and Danielson left WWE because WWE would not clear them to compete or compete as much and AEW seems to have the mentality of 'sure we will let you get dropped on your head as much as you want and wrestle until you are half dead' That is NOT positive for the business. If you are more flippant about safety than the WWE, you are practically sub-terran in terms of a conscience
Here's the problem I have right of the bat Dax is going to whine about Erics criticism of AEW but not Cornette's? Eric from what ive seen never makes his attacks personal, Jim does He loathes Omega and the Bucks and others and makes it very personal of how much he hates them Yet i hear nothing from Dax, and my guess would be because Cornette kisses FTRs rear end. Dax is a massive hypocrite and can shove it
Tony and AEW doesn't need help tearing themselves down. They may not complain about their paychecks, but many have come out with their distaste for their creative process...

😂😂😂😂 good joke lol RoboCop would be in the main event!
Somehow I don’t think Eric is hurting for money! What is this clown even talking about? He sure does love the drama!
Strange everyone who gets a cheque from Tony kiss his ass on a regular basis.
Tony’s action figures aren’t stupid. While they know he’s a clown, they also know that they can get overpaid for literally the rest of their lives by sucking up to Tony. Even though they know he’s full of shit.
ConMan saying Jim whole show is base of AEW is pure nonsense. Like I know your on the AEW bus but damn u clearly don’t listen to Jim show if he really thinks that
Cornette = 394k vs Bishoff 95k
I hate when people get personal about financial stuff when discussing their opinion, it's just mean 🙄
Sounds like the AEW talent is as soft and thin-skinned as their goofy owner.
FTR is Boring asf!!All the so called great matches can't make up for them being lames and I stand on that
What are they going to say when this company lose their TV deal
Dax looks like young Barry Darso
He just needs that repo man mask!
Love em or hate em. I'd still hire bischoff for my wrestling company.
I think FTR are an excellent team, really enjoy their matches 👍I think somewhere along the line the star ratings of a certain wrestling journalist may have put a bee in their shorts ⭐⭐⭐
Conrad is awesome, not sure why there is so much hate
I liked Dax better when he talked less.
He’s always whining about something and I am sick of self righteous promos about his wife and kids.
Agree 💯
A Professional Wrestler should be able to "Get Over" without the Use of His Wife & Children...
For Dax not to name Cornette (his fan) and not Eric is the bitch move of the year so far.
Love Dax, Eric, and Cornette. They're all entitled to their opinions and nothing is wrong with that.
Dax always breaks it down to the most basic and simplistic form; he has a job and he doesn’t have to wear a jester suit, therefore he’s grateful.
Great to see yet another clip with Eric and Conrad the hutt
Dax is off his head! Wtf is wrong with these AEW Muppets?!
to Harwood's comment about changing things for the positive I am going to say one thing
I am deeply concerned about AEW's mindset towards health when both Paige and Danielson left WWE because WWE would not clear them to compete or compete as much and AEW seems to have the mentality of 'sure we will let you get dropped on your head as much as you want and wrestle until you are half dead'
That is NOT positive for the business. If you are more flippant about safety than the WWE, you are practically sub-terran in terms of a conscience
Here's the problem I have right of the bat
Dax is going to whine about Erics criticism of AEW but not Cornette's?
Eric from what ive seen never makes his attacks personal, Jim does
He loathes Omega and the Bucks and others and makes it very personal of how much he hates them
Yet i hear nothing from Dax, and my guess would be because Cornette kisses FTRs rear end.
Dax is a massive hypocrite and can shove it
FTR sees Bishoff as they do HBK
They're Hartites
Bischoff. His name is in the title of the video and you still got it wrong. Doesn’t get any dumber than you
Tony and AEW doesn't need help tearing themselves down. They may not complain about their paychecks, but many have come out with their distaste for their creative process...
damn, eric got the receipts.
Am really happy you woke up on Saturday morning heres hoping you manage the same next week
Conrad woke up on Saturday morning and was disappointed.
Now he knows how his wife feels every morning
I have no idea who this ( The Great) Barry Darsow look alike is.
But I love Bischoff.. 🤷♂️
Don't worry about what anybody says keep up the good work guys
I think WWE would open FTR back with open arms, look at Cody, Punk, etc.
Uh Dax is aware that Eric actually beat the wwe for 2 years while aew isn't even in the same league? I say that not even liking eric.
I’ve grown to like Conrad on podcast , He asked a lot of tough questions
Is the King of Neckbeards (Conrad) gonna start turning on AEW too?
