So is this something that you, too, didn't know you wanted or needed? 😄 What do you think of the update overall? 👍🏼
Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated! And yes, somehow everyone missed the shortcut thing, and to be fair, *_so did I_* the first time around. 😄
Thank you for this video! Nice to see lol. There was actually another to condense the other clips down too. I just literally command B to blade out the underlying base video sections then insert the B roll and other shots to save file size 😂 might not be the most practical though
Thanks for the feedback! 👍🏼 But "command B to blade out the underlying base video sections then insert the B roll" will not save any file sizes btw. Not if you mean in the library or upon export. You're not actually deleting any ACTUAL footage/data.
@@realjackeal File size *_upon export_* is decided _exclusively_ by the length of the clip and chosen codec. What is or was _in the project_ (or library) beyond that when exporting is irrelevant.
@@postpros-e after your comment I went to find out how to reduce file size (as my recent 4K project was like 20gb for a 6 minute video lol) and found a Think Media video for Final Cut Pro on just going to export it as computer file .mp4 instead of .mov and reducing from gb to mb. Will have to see if that works lol. Thanks for the inspiration!
@@realjackeal Wait… so you were exporting as _A PRORES FILE_ each time?? Yikes. Yeah, as I said above, that'll do it. Resolution is one thing, *_CODEC_* is another and the by far most deciding factor when it comes to final file size! ProRes = _huge_ because a mastering format H.264 (i.e. any of the "Apple Devices" presets) = a _fraction_ of the size, still good quality, but max 8-bit if that's even relevant HEVC (or H.265) = even smaller, even better quality, up to 10-bit, but _extreeeeemly_ slow to encode on older (non-Apple Silicon) machines

Great tutorial. Thanks 🙏
You're welcome! ;)
thank you! thank you! thank you!❤
Sure! Sure! Sure! 😄
You are really good. Keep up the good work. You are the only person that has mentioned the scrolling timeline keyboard shortcut.

@@postpros-e wait a minute! 😅🙈😱 then how do you reduce the file size when you blade out sections upon export?! 😂

WHY?!
