So have *_you_* activated the scrolling timeline? Are you *_keeping_* it active? And do you agree with my assessment that it's comparatively the ONLY scrolling timeline that in fact adds value to your workflow?
That Multicam updating the timeline as you go is awesome Robin. I’m in the midst of an almost 2 hour Concert Video edit with 13 Angles. I’ll check that out and I’m sure I’ll love it. Thanks for that one. Cheers from Tokyo 🇯🇵
editing professionally for 40 years , this is just one of the reasons why I will now continue to stick with FCP ! Great video and tips re multi-cam ! Thanks !
20 years editor here, loving FCP. When this feature appeared I preferred the old way, but now I know scrolling timeline can be toggled with a shortcut I'll give it a shot again. Thanks for the video and all the best.
Hey, thanks for the feedback! What did (or rather DO, since it's still there 😄) you prefer with the "old way"? But yes, being able to turn it off on the fly makes a huge difference. And again, something *_no_* other NLE allows. Which is why I thought it was important to point it out. It makes it that much more usable even for the most staunch skeptics. 😉
I know, right? When I came across it I was all "Whoa… ok, this changes matters. Can't believe I missed this or that it hasn't been mentioned anywhere!" It not only makes it that much more usable, but is some serious added value IMHO.😉 Cheers.
Yep. I don't think many realize how many things have to align before implementing something like this that is also and most importantly able to satisfy Apple's standards. If it's not useful to _every_ (compatible) user, don't do it. 😉 Thanks for watching!
Also if you have a tool (Trim, Range, Blade) selected and hover your mouse cursor over a clip or a cut point the scrolling stops. Great for a on the fly editor like me!

Hey Jason, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, it's one of those seemingly little things that can make your work just that much nicer, right? 😄

Great insights and examples, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
The clip skimmer changes a lot! Thanks.

Спасибо за интересное предложения для монтажа в FCP.
Пожалуйста. Рад, что вам понравилось ;)
that's the difference. apple usually (!) only implements superior features. it takes a long time but now FCP has the best scrolling TL there is.

Thanks for the info! Hadn't noticed. 🤔 Will have to watch for that.
