I had one of these in America in the 80s as a kid. I don't remember seeing a commercial for it here, but I used to watch Robotech and one of the times my mom took me to the toy store THIS was in stock there (Toys 'R Us). I got this as my present that day :3
The closest that I ever got to owning one of these was Monogram's Cy-Kill model kit, which was a recolored VR-41 Cyclone. The face that came with it was Yellow/Lancer right down to the headband and lock of hair, but molded in silver.
Still have my Scott Bernard Ride Armour. One of my better purchases back in the 80's. Have the smaller plastic Rook, Lance & Rand figures and cyclones. Sigh... still want to be a Veritech pilot.
Alas never saw these in Australia back in the day Robotech first screened either, as a teenage more mindful of their condition and the expense to get but arguable kid me would have lost his mind to have such a toy,
IT SCOTT BERNARD! THE BIGGEST FEET IN THE WEST! I still have this toy and I gotta tell you. That toy has bigger feet than any of my Macross or Robotech toys.
I just bought one on ebay and it's in the box, can't wait to get it! This toy rules! My Brother just purchased the masterpiece for 180. I payed 100. for my classic gakken. The masterpiece is nicely detailed but very cheep! I would rather have the gakken.
I have the exact same toy but it can't bend the legs like in the commercial, so riding it is impossible. Maybe they used a prototype for the commercial.
Back in the day that was more likely to be "imagine this child is you" situation, where nowadays its more likely an attempt to avoid a disclaimer at the bottom proclaiming "Actual Toy does not Self-Move" :(
Things only last so long and everything can be broken. The amount of times as a kid I'd be rough with toy and not care, seeing my own boys be rough with toys now makes me sigh. And why things like this are hidden away far from being seen by them to avoid awkward conversations about why they can't play with it.
how much u wanna sell it? i had it too when i was 7 yrs old back in the 80's, do let me know if u wanna sell it or if u have other stuff like transformers, mask, robotech centurions or any toys from the 80's
Mospeada rules! The mech and gear designs are simply awesome!
Yes you're right
これは侮れない出来…!!
I love Japanese toy adverts, they get creative and it makes for a much more exciting commercial!
Yes, often the fun part of watching fansubs back in the day was getting the commercials as well.
Had it :).
My dad represented that toy line in New England.
CanOfMinus WOW...lucky!!!

Japanese commercial so not unexpected. I am only aware of Robotech commercials for non-transformable Matchbox New Generation toys.
Only a kid could believe that carrying a motorcycle on your back was going to enhance your combat skills.

Hey! I have one of those! Got it from the late, great Iron Horse toy shop in Berkeley, California back in the '80s...
I had this! Man I loved everything Robotech.
i love the cyclone riders from robotech as a kid thought i had all the robotech toys as a kid but i dont remeber that one
Espectacular...siempre de chico busque ese juguete y nunca lo encontre

What an awesome ad! It makes me want to go out and buy one of these cool looking robotic warriors.
When I was a kid I wanted this so badly. So badly
Same, its just a good toy then and now.
Hermoso!!!!!.....de niño soñando con los juguetes de la Saga de Robotech.
Alas never saw these in Australia back in the day Robotech first screened either, as a teenage more mindful of their condition and the expense to get but arguable kid me would have lost his mind to have such a toy,
THIS IS AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely 😁
@@CycKath This is worthy of being cosplayed, and that is where I will come in strongly.Excellent video 👌
Thanks....never have seen this ad before.
I want this!!!!
What a friking cool toy!!!!!!
That stop motion was cool.
Yes, bit of actual live action, cell and stop motion animation making such a great combo.
Only Matchbox made any Inbit/Invid toys for their Robotech line, Gakken just made lots of different sized Ride Armor and Legioss toys.
The transformation step by step.
Classic toy!
Still so great even today.
IT SCOTT BERNARD! THE BIGGEST FEET IN THE WEST! I still have this toy and I gotta tell you. That toy has bigger feet than any of my Macross or Robotech toys.

He was a hobbit who hit an unconventional growth spurt.
I feel ripped off! I had one of those when tey came out but mine never moved on it's own!! damn it
Lol.
Best toy period!!!!!!!
my god! u can't get toys as good as this nowadays.
Is it still possible to buy this now>? Have they re-manufactured for us who grew up in the 80's?

I had the Japanese toy model of this, but lost it many years ago.
The Imai models were pretty good, certainly more detailed than the Fallen toys but infinitely more fragile than this one.
Great commercial
i have that toy longggg ago.. i am 36 now.. i wish i had kept it..
did you know that the japanese boxed version is the only one that has firing missles!
That is so cool I wish it is true we can fly over traffic 😘🤩😂
Depends, need a little runup to be able to transform :)
Wow Nice 80s Commercial
wow! so rare!
アムドライバーを彷彿させる。
About a 20 year gap between them, guess similar ideas repeat.

アムドライバーか…→ATXで見ていました❗◎○

I have this toy in the box still! selling it on ebay soon xD
Did it sell lol (11 years later) ;p
Yea. did it sell? I have one new in the box too.
I'm 48...and I HAVE to get a Cyclone.
Toys we longed for as kids often as much if not more desirable as we get older
nice!
my big bro had one, it wa hella hard to transform
That's hot i want one.
...i still want one😍😍😍🤤🤤🤤😖😖😖😔
Even in era of Beagle, CM and Megahouse it's still quite a nice toy :)
cyckath absolutely...Amen Brother!!!😆😆😆😂😂🤣🤣🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🖖🏽🖖🏽🖖🏽

FUCKING BADASS
yo estuve a punto de tener uno!!!!! no es justo!!!!
Eh, it doesn't transform the way it does in the show. But hell, the fact that it can transform at all is good enough.
i had that toy it wuz awsomae but mine nvr did that
i want that background music
Meanwhile in the West, toy comercials had kids playing with the toys, not cool stop motion.
Back in the day that was more likely to be "imagine this child is you" situation, where nowadays its more likely an attempt to avoid a disclaimer at the bottom proclaiming "Actual Toy does not Self-Move" :(
*lonely soldier boy starts playing*
The lyric or instrumental version from the first episode as Stick rides through the desert?
Neat
A good toy and still a good commerical for it.
Ah, but will they have a TV commerical to compare to this one (or a TV commerical at all)?
皆さん買った事ないんだろうなあー😮💨アレ、プラパーツが割れたんだぜ……
壊れやすかったので、あなたが荒すぎた場合は認めます、今はもっと悪いです
anbody know where that background music came from?
コマ撮り撮影っていうのかな?、これはかなり時間が掛かったんじゃなかろうか?
Yes, with some true full motion when its riding along. I like stop-motion, more feeling than just CGI nowadays
en donde compro ese jugue te
I've been mispronouncing Mospeada all these years, huh
how were you pronouncing it, Moze-peeda?

:( 800 for the figure at amazon
Usually 2-300 on ebay
@katanaburner That means he's packin' a lot of junk!
Sounds like the 50cc moped.
I've heard that Japanese products are "As seen on TV" quality.
It is the toy, but unless you have a rolling dirt road conveyer belt not easily relocatable
Did they make toys of the "Grab" aliens though? Those things looked cooler in the show than the Mospeadas.
You mean the Invid warriors? Then yes. Someone did at least, as I still have one.
こまどりしてるせいか、クオリティが高く見える
いま、こういうCM見なくなったなー
Again, they simply don't make them like this anymore
I have one...but it's broken! :(
Things only last so long and everything can be broken. The amount of times as a kid I'd be rough with toy and not care, seeing my own boys be rough with toys now makes me sigh. Robotech, Season 3. Original serie
Well ad is for the Japanese original, but effectively the same thing.
fuck... never arrive to my country...
Shut up and take my money
Take depressing large amount of time and money to find even a average condition example nowadays :(
2021
And still a desirable toy
学研から出てたのか。
Yes
lol
fuaaaa !!!!!
Love it but it was pretty bad lol.
It's a toy commercial, its not never going to be high art, but it has a style to it that just isn't done anymore.
Macross but not really Macross... Robotech part three.. Sort of.
Definitely not Macross, not a fan of Macross, find it overrated.
Perhaps, but a toy commercial without cheese is emotionally dead not to mention boring :)
