    An essay on stains. I went through a whole thing trying to get stains out of my wood floors that I was restoring.
    There are a range of enzymes for removing different stains.
    Protease - degrades protein-based soils
    Amylase - degrades starch-based or carbohydrate soils
    Cellulase - breaks down cotton fibres to release soils
    Lipase - degrades fat-based soils
    Mannanase - degrades food-based stains
    Pectinase - degrades fruit-based stains
    Different brands of pre soaker have different amounts on different enzymes. If your brand isn't working try another. I've heard Tide's pre-soaker is pretty heavy duty.
    Also on the label they usually underestimate the time required. I leave things soaking over night if I can.
    If all this fails, bleach.
    Dilute it 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. Soak for 5 to 10 minutes then check. If it needs more, give it more.
    If you're a daredevil dunk your stuff in pure bleach and hope for the best. Don't leave it in there too long or you'll dissolve your clothes.
    Wear gloves.
    Also if the stain is a synthetic oil, like motor oil, your screwed. Good luck! :D

    • @Bebop_2962
      @Bebop_2962 5 років тому +2

      @@tessaviolet Sort out your laundry before washing. Whites with whites, blacks with blacks, light colours with light colours, dark colours with dark colours. Also you ought to separate stuff that needs to be washed on higher temperature (dish towels, towels), low temperature (wool, lacey stuff, bras) and medium temperature (the rest).
      Of course, it doesn't make much sense to make eight piles of laundry if you're starting out with a small volume. Compromises can be made, but sorting out your laundry will certainly help the whites stay white. Using a special detergent for white fabric helps a bit, but sorting out is way more important.
      Bleach will help making grey laundry somewhat white again, but it also damages the fabric.
      Also read the instructions on the detergent packaging so you use the correct amount of detergent. Too much detergent isn't great for the environment, too little detergent is even worse (because your clothes will smell, making you wash them more often).
      Your clothes go fuzzy because they rub against each other in the washing machine. This causes the top layer of fibres to break and the ends to stick out, causing that fuzziness. So make sure you turn your clothes inside out before washing.

    • @evercuriousmichelle
      @evercuriousmichelle 5 років тому

      I've given up and banned all white from my wardrobe, it's much easier that way! Then I can just do two laundry piles--the ones that go in the dryer and the ones that don't. It's simple!

    Take it from a metal head; For black clothes, wash them only with blacks and darks using a dark detergent like Woolite Zero, fabric softener, wash them in cold water with a high spin cycle, shirt flipped inside out (protects printed images), Always Always hang dry, role it with a lint roller before use(if you have pets), every few years wash it with a mild black die. That black shirt will never be as perfect as the day you bought it but will last you a decade + with some care.
    Not sure how I got here but Tessa, your hair is awesome.

    Usually if I can't get a melody out of my head but I am not feeling the song, I trust my instincts on both parts. I accept that that the song isn't working but I steal the melody and I go use it in a song I know I already love. Then I have an awesome melody on an awesome song and it creates this whole new thing!

    I felt like you were choking back the tears this entire video. I appreciate that you show this side of yourself. I still say that some days when I'm off work I feel this void of loneliness and almost worthlessness. There is so much pressure on us to always be productive it almost feels that when we relax we are in a way failing ourselves, but trust me if you don't have that lonely down time deep in your thoughts from time to time then you'll never be able to stay in touch with your true self. Cry it out, you deserve a good cry to clear that overwhelming exhaustion on your shoulders.

    Completely understand what you mean about feeling crazy when you don’t talk to anyone all day! I work shifts as a healthcare support worker in a hospital on ED. so my days are either full to the brim with conversation with patients and colleagues or on my days off I don’t speak to anyone bar maybe popping to the shop for no reason other than to get out of the flat and not be on my own. I live with my boyfriend but I moved up here to be with him so. He has friends he talks to and hangs out with and I am the opposite. I have no friends up here, and about 1 back home I’m not very good at maintaining friendships as I get sad a lot! Who doesn’t Ay! It’s a really lonely experience, it makes it really hard. My job is super stressful, and I never feel like I can truly unwind. Alas. It sucks, I had some leave booked this week, so I’ve not really spoken to anyone for 3 days my boyfriend is staying at his friends which is always okay with me. It’s just hard. Sitting on your own for hours and hours with no one to message or speak to in real life. I think the contrast like for you tessa, my equivalent of coming off tour would be finishing 3 12.5 hour shifts and then spending the next few days off work with no one to talk to. It’s a lonely life! Feeling like you can’t unload everything on your partner is hard too. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t here and could just go back to my family. I’m learning to drive currently and money is always tight so going home often isn’t really an option.
    Don’t know why I’m writing this! I guess it’s just comforting to know I’m not the only person who feels like this!
    Never having none work conversations is probably the reason I can’t switch off from work ! I think what I’d really like is to go for a coffee with a friend every so often!
    Ah dear. Anyways, lovely vid tessa. Hope you feel better soon, you’ll soon make friends you’re very sweet.

    "I feel like I shouldn't like it"
    "But I keep coming back to this melody"
    UM THAT COULD BE A SONG!
    FEELING GUILTY FOR LOVING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE, BUT NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU WANT TO GET AWAY, YOU KEEP COMING BACK!
    What about a song about being in a toxic relationship, knowing they you deserve better, yet you remember the few good times over the big, bad ones, and keeping running back into the relationship 🥺

    You need to wash stuff separately to make colors bleed less. Different fabrics need to be washed at different temps and dried differently too, so that may be something you want to look out for. Usually the labels on clothes will tell you what you need to do.

    Honestly not sure how I survive Saturdays without talking to anyone but somehow I do. But it's so comforting to know other people feel the same way
