tia cooper People also use to tell me that I am so wise. But I think the reason for this wisdom is probably knowledge and thinking. I am spending a lot of time by thinking about certain ideas or topics or stories. I reflect a lot of my life. And I also google and read a lot of thinks on the internet. For instance, there was a time in ny youth where I was informing myself a lot about introversion. I have read a whole book about it and I was also thinking about it bc I am an introvert. And I watch many youtube videos. But I think a lot..A LOT. But I am sure that you are also really wise. I hope you have a nice day.💕

Wisedom comes from experience. This is someone who has gone through stuff in her life (and is still going through stuff). She has had to seek help and knowledge... "therapy", where (at least in my case) you gain a million "Ah Ha!" moments where you learn some deep introspective things about life, truth, and self.
Plus,... Tessa is a smart cookie!
      God/genetics didn't make no fool.
Despite her challenges, the girl is good (Can you tell I'm a fan?).

“A great way to never write anything is to enter into creativity with fear” has my mind blown,, it’s so simple and I’m so glad I heard it from you. Since the first time I watched this video in 2017, I’ve sung my original songs at two small gigs, cried a lot, and decided that I’m not going to give up on music!! Everything is simultaneously insignificant and wonderful. It’s good.

there's nothing you can do about it, so don't worry about it. it's easier said than done but since you really can't do anything about it, just don't let it bother you.

    • @BryonyAnneBelle
      @BryonyAnneBelle 7 років тому +7

Honestly, I have learnt to find that freeing, rather than something that makes me anxious. I would also say that it's inaccurate to say that everything is pointless, rather that the purpose of it is simply that which you apply to it in the now, rather than some over-arching purpose. As in, it does matter what you do, and it matters how you feel, and it matters how others' feel. Everything has an affect, and that matters, no matter how small.

  • @ShelbyMerry

Only two minutes in and I've shouted "YES SOMEONE SAID IT" three times already. It took me a while to get over the whole "I need to be ORIGINAL, I need to be ME, but who AM I" madness. When I started consuming more art, I was able to MAKE more art. I think that's true with anything, but especially music. Do not feel guilty for sounding like something else, friends. I've gotten to a comfortable place where I can freely make music and know it will be original to me- not because of something I'm actively DOING, but simply by the fact that whatever I make WILL inherently HAVE to have my footprint on it.

As someone who's not at all a musician, I want to also share how helpful your words are for me about all art (and even things that don't feel like art). Like, I'm in the process of writing my personal statements for grad school and it's so hard to feel unique or to create a nice progression of thoughts and tones, etc. And what you're sharing is exactly what I keep telling myself - write something, write more than you need to and you can go back and revise and perfect. So thank you, as always, for sharing your insight in such a lovely and eloquent way. I'm in love with your way with words. :)

Thank you so so much for shining this kind of light on the expectation of writing music versus how someone may be expecting too much out of how they're music is supposed to sound. I thought that I had to conjure a whole new melodic sequence completely different from how anything else had ever sounded on my own and you helped me realize that not everyone can be mozart and Beethoven and create something new out of nothing. That you can be inspired by little bits of everything around you. (Not saying to do stuff like copying, just that everything has inspiration from something else.) Thank you.

I find myself in this position a lot and there are many different things I tried that could work for you.
One is writing up as many lyrics as you can come up with that could highlight or fit that line. You can write as much as you want and when you're done, ignore the original line and match them up together to what could fit in a melody or a topic. When I first tried this I ended up completely forgetting about the first line and lead the song into a whole other direction. It works and is also good for testing out different things.
You could also keep a journal or folder to write all those lyrics down. If something ever comes to you, write it down. When you come back to it you may also find a lyric that fits what you're currently writing. If not that, you could also piece them together.
I wrote one song with a lyric like that and I solved it by finishing the whole entire song, whether it lived up to the lyric or not. If you play it several times, you can see if it did end up fitting or some lyrics were definitely shaky and fix them accordingly.
      Hope this helps!

Great tips. Faced a lot myself and have backed away from doing what I wanted to do, due to the fact that nothing was original. Keep up the good work and the good vibes!

In an interview, Bill Hader once talked about how he would get the worst anxiety right before doing skits on SNL and to combat it he would come out saying something other than what was written on the script, just for his opening line, and it would immediately calm him down because he realized he screwed up, which was his biggest fear, but he was still there and everything was fine. So whenever I’m performing I like to remember that little anecdote to remind me that even if I mess up things will go on and everything will be okay ❤️ love you Tessaaaaa
