It really is a testament to how good Mr Miyagi actually is considering how easily older Silver demolished Johnny (yes he sneak attacked him but Johnny could still fight afterwards) and Daniel the first time. He also more than held his own against Chozen, even if Chosen did win in the end. Prime Silver didn't even land a hit on an older Miyagi.
A friend of mine was a teacher at a kung fu school many years ago. Every year the old chinese masters would come in and fight the younger black belts straight up as an exhibition. It was amazing that the older masters never lost and pretty much embarassed their younger, stronger opponents. Older masters defeating younger fighters is very common and realistic. The Miyagi scenes are good and could easily happen in real life. Our western culture is so behind in many disciplines and it really shows up here.

It's always satisfying to watch bullies get heir asses kicked. Mr. Miyagi was and is one of the coolest duded ever. He didn't want to fight like those jackasses. He wasn't interested in using his skills for profit. He understood that his skills were apart of a deep philosophy about how one should live life seeking a better connection with the self and seeking greater inner peace. But also to always stand up against injustice as you walk a path with love and kindness. He is the teacher every teen should have.
...and then he found out. Ouch! I think that Chozen's comments in Cobra Kai add a new layer to this. Miyagi, Sato, and Chozen all knew who taught Kreese and Silver. They all understood that deception was the key to what they did. At the time, we looked at this fight as Miyagi dealing with a threat to Daniel. Now it looks like Miyagi knew that he was one of the few people in the world that knew what to do about these people. He never takes his eyes off of Silver, but most importantly he is sober as a priest. Chozen was "3 sheets" when he went after Silver, and pretty thoroughly enraged. All the people that Chozen knew - Johnny, Daniel, and MIke, had been victimized by Silver. Sato knew Kim. This was a generational fight. He understood that it had to be him. He took it personally, however. Miyagi really doesn't take fighting personally. He cares more about Daniel-san, than he ever hates anyone.
The thing I love most about this scene is Mike's face when looking up at Mr miyagi as he walks out, his thinking I can't believe all 3 of us got beaten by this old man lol

Wouldn’t work…as Mamet’s Red Belt showed, it’s hard to follow the action with BJJ, or ‘sell’ it With striking based choreography it’s easier to see who’s on top or losing, whilst a mass of arms and legs and someone going red and tapping out isn’t as easy Heck, even referees can’t always see what’s going on 😂
Silver is one of the most entertaining villains. Part 3 was pants, but so glad he came back in CK and made twice the fool of himself! Only wish Daniel had done that wha wha wha stuff when he kicked Silver's arse! 😆
I remember seeing Karate Kid 3 in theaters when I was 10 and I was still disappointed, even though as a kid I would tend to look passed flaws to see the entertainment side. But it still wasn't good to me. Over the years I realized that it wasn't that bad, especially with Silver being so entertaining. Cobra Kai made it retroactively better.
I know KK Part 111 isn't that great of a movie, but I always enjoyed this scene where Mr. Miyagi comes in! I wish I had a mentor and protector like him in my life.
