Great video - looked like awesome fun! Also it's easy to call someone names from the side lines! Either get in and help, or watch and learn from their mistake/experiences. We all have to start somewhere. Doesn't matter how good you are, you can always learn something. Things I learnt - 1 - constantly changing angle of front tires gets you more traction - 2- when spinning wheels on sand, stop and try something different, and - 3 - my next car is going to be a Nissan Patrol!
Sounds like you've never been in this situation? Most of these guys can't handle themselves. They panic and won't take direction. The ones in stock or hire vehicles who know nothing are usually pretty happy for a helping hand. It's the guys that think they know everything because they spoke to the guy at the ARB that you want to stay clear of. No point putting your gear and your limbs in the firing line.
That guy in the RR needs a good slapping. Nice to see a Cruiser being instrumental in getting the RR out, although the RR could quite easily have been driven out. I speak from experience, 30 + years driving in the Middle East deserts, 15 of those rallying.
Had our petrol 120 Prado on Fraser 3 times (we live in Sydney so not exactly a weekend away). It was brilliant. Especially after the 2 inch lift (last two visits). Be interesting to test your theory with our 200. Need to lift it first.

I can't fathom why people have so much trouble in these videos. I take my Prado to Fraser all the time, and I've never had to break out the recovery tracks (touch wood).
Visibly solid sidewalls equals too much pressure in that type of sand. Lowering pressure to the average IQ there of about 10 will be fine with suitable momentum. That said I am used to my triple locked as factory standard 80.
The RR with low profile tyres did better than i expected once unstuck. Better than the Cruiser with the huge fat tyres. Tall and skinny like the stock Defender is what you want on soft sand. 12-16 psi and some momentum and that car will drive around all the overweight over tyre'd beasts.

Fair strokes fells. Clearly he wasn’t across how to use his rig, and the biggest challenge in a busy recovery is that some people don’t cope well. Sure language may have been a barrier too but there was a lot going on and if others knew how this rugs system worked a two minute conversation of this how you drive turn this to sand and turn esp off then likely that would have made the world of difference. Instead 20 people all giving directions etc, that’s confusing. Get a lead and follow that person, but out there, there is too many people. Let’s hope he learns about the systems more so he can keep using it like this.

Why do they keep trying to go UP Hill once they're stuck? Just go back down Hill, air down your tires. And try again with as much momentum is you can get.

You must lower the air of the wheels to 15 in order to give space to the wheels inside the sand and also the engines will be comfortable that does not have pressure during the exit from the sand and the oil will not burn. I saw that your vehicles pull the car stuck in the sand under high pressure because the wheels are full of air must be emptied and must be inside the car locker Air blower for wheels after the trip is completed

As a Land Rover Discovery owner I cringe every time I see Discovery's or Range Rover's stuck in sand. It's usually lack of education. I'm commenting here for everyone to learn a little. Later model D4's and RR will have the Land Rover "Terrain Response" system" (TR) which allows for different modes of surface. Firstly, with tyre pressures, places like Inskip and Ngkala, about 15lbs is sufficient even with lower profile 19 or 20" tyres. You can even drop to 12lbs if needed but no sharp turns. D4 and RR have a special beading on the rim that holds the tyre on a little more tightly. Secondly, select Low Range, Off road height and Sand Mode "ON" (on the TR) and then TURN OFF DSC (Dynamic Stability Control). If DSC is NOT turned off you will bog in sand as quick as look at it. If DSC is left on the computer system will think any sideways yaw is sliding and kill the power. It's just inexperience mostly and not being aware of what vehicles can do. I have see RR Sports with TR system deliberately bogged in really soft sand (about as soft as Ngkala but flat) down to the floorpan. All we did was dig out the wheels a little to make a ramp. We used no Maxtrax and with the correct TR setting and no DSC he was able to drive out after a couple of back and forward movements. They are really capable vehicles, it's just that people don't know how to drive them.
tng200 I own a Disco 3 and have never had a problem at 12psi and DSC off. It's even in the hand book. I also believe the turning off the DSC also turns off Traction control.
why would you have low profile tyres on a 4x4.??.you need sidewall height, all those gizmo,s are for city, ites that never go off road.idealy, you should have 35" tyres, with upto 17" rims.18" maybe.&,15,psi,is for rocks, not sand.i run 10 in sand.range rovers should stik to grass paddocks, like they were meant to..you need to watch u.s vids..might learn something.
@@Gunshy55 I think you hit the nail there, ITS IN THE HANDBOOK! Half of 1% of RR and other LRs are used off-road, properly. Its no wonder when you watch this.
Hopefully they understand SUVs are just a big waste of money and that sedans did all the normal day to day stuff 100 times better. If people wanted to go 4wd buy a real 4wd and not a shitty jack up sedan, seriously the car market is fucking silly with how it turned out.
not in all circumstances, Iv driven up soft sand like cape flattry dunes with less than 10psi and still doesnt make a difference. sand that soft you cant do shit haha
@@kylelove3914 sand has an angle of repose and can only sustain a certain height over a specific width. So "normal" wheel tracks can only be a set or fixed depth (based on the angle of repose). Within obvious angles of inclination, 10 psi will get you ANYWHERE on ANY soft sand. The sand cannot be "too" soft, there is a limit! Any sand anywhere can be traversed carefully at 10psi. The only potential limitation is the surrounding incline. Momentum is your friend on inclines 👍
Please see the tyres. Most of them already lower the tyres. There's nothing wrong to lower the tyres further down when bogged. It makes no sense to drive with 8 or 10 psi all the way from entry. As once tyre is ripped off from the rim. No one can help ya.
I really can't understand why people insist in taking modern Land Rovers off roading... Long gone are the days when LR made the best 4x4s on the planet. Today, just are just 4wd luxury barges.
Depends on the driver - there was a LR Evoke that went up 10 pound hill in Yeagerup in WA - the thing literally flew up faster than anything else that weekend. His low profile tyres didn't last though.

I spent $3000 on a bronco that'll eat your overpriced suv up.but hey at least you have nice interior!
@@simeonmcgovern2995 haha i really wish i could do that!seems like some fun...we do glamis here so I'm ok with sand.
why would you have low profile tyres on a 4x4.??.you need sidewall height, all those gizmo,s are for city, ites that never go off road.idealy, you should have 35" tyres, with upto 17" rims.18" maybe.&,15,psi,is for rocks, not sand.i run 10 in sand.range rovers should stik to grass paddocks, like they were meant to..you need to watch u.s vids..might learn something.
@@Gunshy55 I think you hit the nail there, ITS IN THE HANDBOOK! Half of 1% of RR and other LRs are used off-road, properly. Its no wonder when you watch this.

13:20 love seeing idiots pulling on a snatch strap like that actually makes a difference
Yeah that one guy is really digging in thinking he is making a difference.
That is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in a recovery situation.
How to get run over 101
Tim I think pushing works but you need atleast 5 people, seen a group of people literally pick a vehicle up out of the sand
I thought exactly the same thing PMSL just gtf out of the way haha
People might start to realise there is a difference between an SUV and a 4WD.
There's a difference !?!
Hopefully they understand SUVs are just a big waste of money and that sedans did all the normal day to day stuff 100 times better. If people wanted to go 4wd buy a real 4wd and not a shitty jack up sedan, seriously the car market is fucking silly with how it turned out.

Twenty years ago, it was a leisurely drive to the cape, now the bonehead factor has turned Fraser into a carpark.
Sounds like a normal day at Pismo Beach
Too many people there now. When I went, half of Brisbane was there.
I wish i was there, not that im any help or anything, i just feel like sitting down, having a vodka and j and watching the fun 👁👃👁 lol
So many idiots making such a simple task so difficult! Low tyre pressure (10-12 psi) is all that's needed.
Haha just because they have a Range Rover doesn’t mean it’s not going to get stuck.
not in all circumstances, Iv driven up soft sand like cape flattry dunes with less than 10psi and still doesnt make a difference. sand that soft you cant do shit haha
And no gear change!
risk going off rim
@@kylelove3914 sand has an angle of repose and can only sustain a certain height over a specific width. So "normal" wheel tracks can only be a set or fixed depth (based on the angle of repose).
Within obvious angles of inclination, 10 psi will get you ANYWHERE on ANY soft sand.
The sand cannot be "too" soft, there is a limit! Any sand anywhere can be traversed carefully at 10psi. The only potential limitation is the surrounding incline. Momentum is your friend on inclines 👍
Amateur hour on Fraser, all letting tires down after bogged.

How dare that Wange Wover get bogged, Ahmed specifically ordered the deluxe model so it would never get stuck.
Not Ahmed. It's Bruce Lee
Wank wover..oi oi
White Australians auto racism engaged as usual. So classy.
That Range Rover needs a support vehicle, otherwise it's never getting off Fraser! Wonder how many times it got bogged that day?! 🤦🏼♂️

What's a solid front axle these days??? Am I right haha
Old army reco jeeps have 28" wheels and 3" tyres they sat on the sand no worries
