Tyne Commission Quay, North Shields in the 1970s

Morning and evening views of railway activity in the spring and summer of 1970 at the Tyne Improvement Commission site at North Shields. Includes the unloading of items from timber and mail boats. The original 8mm cine film was created by DavidChampion who worked in the traffic office at the complex.

Fascinating, we live where the timber storage yards were. Looking on old maps a siding runs diagonally through what is now our back garden
