Ken, Bob and Ray. Three proper railwaymen and real gentlemen. All missed.

I was pleased to see Ayton station and yard which I used to visit occasionally back in the 1970/1980s and well remember penmanshiel tunnel collapsing in which 2 local lads died. Interesting to see the old cement works at Oxwell mains prior to it being modernised. I used to wonder how anyone could live in the local cottages there as they were permanently under a grey cement dust and not so good for the lungs. Thanks for sharing video appreciate it.

Noticing the 03 in the shunt neck at Berwick put shudders down my spine. Memories of ferrying 03s from Gateshead to Tweedmouth and Berwickback passenger in the1970s and return the next day. Usually when on 06:00 control orders.

    I enjoyed watching this - it's worth a hundred clips of 66s.
It's not a part of the world I know well, but it was interesting to go on a classic run from pit to customer. All that old mostly steam age infrastructure before it got swpet awy - great stuff.
What work did the Berwick 03 pilot have in those days?

Another thing - what did the cement works use the coal for - power generation? Did they have their own power plant?
There seemed to be a lot of traffic in the Oxwellmains sidings. Cement tanks for bulk powdered cement and vans for bagged product?
