Hey so I'm literally brand new to beard growth only 2 weeks in so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. I'm just discovering products have a beard wash coming in today from beard club but I have both wild willies hemp seed beard oil the dropper bottle one (1st one I bought) and good fellow from target as I love that whole line in general. I think both work very well at mildly soothing the itch and irritation, I don't feel overly greasy with either use 4-5 drops two times a day. The smell doesn't stick around more than 5 minutes and both are really mild which is fine. But that's about it for me. Will definitely be exploring other options not out of dissatisfaction but just to test the waters

I bought the Honest Amish and like it ok, except it seems to give off a scent or gas that makes my contacts blurry. True story. I’m very careful to thoroughly wash my hands after using beard oil but it seems like it gives off a gas if you will, that screws up my contact lenses. I’ve never grown a beard before and am about 5 months in. I made the mistake of allowing my wife to trim the sides near the sideburns and it hasn’t looked right since. I’m brushing daily and I guess I need a shampoo and moisturizer because my beard feels dry. Thanks for your videos.

@@EllisD01 EMJ butter is not a butter. It's water based, more like a lotion, smells like chemicals, and leaves my beard stiff & crunchy. There are so many really good butters out there. Try Texas Beardsman or Furry Hippie Beard Company. They both have incredible butters. I'll likely come out with my own early next year.

Agreed, their butter is one of the absolute worst.
And absolutely nothing wrong with the EMJ oil at all. Really solid starter option for in store oils. I didn’t bring them up on this video for two main reasons though:
      1) their base price in Walmart is just over $10, which was my guideline (the others are well under $10 an ounce)
      2) I wouldn’t recommend it over any of the ones on the list that are less expensive

I have a sensitive nose so if I get a beard oil that is too potent I like to apply good amount of Honest Amish first and then use just a few drops of the potent oil. Honest Amish classic and premium have a fairly faint smell that will be overpowered by any potent beard oil you apply over it. I do try to match them up though, Honest Amish classic to me smells like Juicy fruit gum so I'll use that with a potent oil that has fruit or food type scents. The Honest Amish premium smells like pencil shavings so I'll use that one with anything that is not food scent related like wood or cologne type scents.

Thank you for the video! I actually have two of these on my shelf right now. Both Honest Amish and Shea Moisture are solid options for any beardsman looking to save some money on products. I cheat a little on the beard butter and use a 4oz tin of the Honest Amish heavy balm with several other scented oils instead of having a match for each scent. These products do well in my beard.
