    We use the vietnamese mint in chicken salads and congee. Also very nice to stir fry together with chicken slices.

    That orange/pink guava looked so good. Suppose to be high in lycopene 😀

    I moved into a flat and l think the tree outside is an Elderflower. Each spring the most sweetest smelling tiny white flowers appear and permeate the air but l still haven’t been able to tell if it is one of those trees. I have been wanting to use the flowers in a tea but am too afraid to do it just in case it not an Elderflower & then l’ll be in strife lol.

    Hi I've just found your channel and I'm so glad I did. Lots of great stuff 👍 I've just moved into our first home and now have a backyard to plant fruit trees, jist wanting to find out how far back from the fence you planted and from each other? Cheers

      Welcome! How exciting! Mine are roughly 1.5-2m apart and then I’ve filled in the gaps with smaller shrubs. When I first planted the trees it looked so empty and I used the gaps to grow annual veggies but now they have grown and filled out so I’m glad I didn’t plant closer 🌳

    Hi Holly, where did you buy your fejioa tree from and what does it taste like?? From a fellow Perthian! 😃

    • @SustainableHolly
      @SustainableHolly  3 роки тому

      My partner bought them but they are just generic ones. I would suggest getting a named variety and you can find them at fruit tree nurseries. I know they have them at Tass1 trees. They are called pineapple guava here in Australia and that’s pretty accurate representation of how they taste 🙂

    Hey Holly, Great Job this garden ive been getting inspired by you to make some interesting stuff myself! And I noticed you mention "WIND", Is it as bad as Melbourne?? We have been considering moving out of VIC just because of the Wind and Cold, I am a Tropical Fan so how do you reckon it would be in Perth? Ideal move? :D Thanks Hope to hear from you!

    • @SustainableHolly

      Thank you! Yes! Hmm it’s not actually that bad but sometimes it can be very strong at night. We live near the hills so I think that plays a major roll in the wind. So just a particularly windy suburb because of the topography. Perth is amazing weather. Very warm and dry though so not as tropical. But still plenty of things grow well here! All about building your microclimates to suit 👌

      @@SustainableHolly that sounds good! We are thinking of Perth or Queensland depending on where our chances of developing the farm 🚜 🤔 Melbourne is Good too but bit too cold and wet to grow 🥭 mangoes hahaha I doesn't stop me from trying still 😉 😜 #tropicalcrazy
