Hey, i am using this machine for over a year now.I ve seen this video before i bought it but still wanted to give it a try.All of us that used it and also used a hawkpen can see the better give on the hawk but this is also a damn good machine. After a year of using it i can tell you this PROS:very silent, low vibration, very light, low skin dmg, packs color and black without any issue, very good for soft shading, great for thin lines, no difference between this or hawkpen on places where the skin is stretched.....CONS:slow-ish for bold outlines, bad for packing white, hard to master, works at best only with kwadron cartrige, slow or hard to use in places where the skin is thick or hard to stretch.
Now, i usualy use it on 10/11V for lines, 8/9V for shading and 9/10V for color.
Disclaimer: for me it works just fine because of my drawing and tattooing style.
It never made a difference to me going from hawk to proton because it meets the requirements that i have from a tattoo machine for now.

baurdica I disagree with basically everything you said starting with “this is also a damn good machine” but hey if it works for you great! Instead of doing a full review in the comment section of my video you probably should have just made your own. Either way, glad it works for you, I stand by my review, it’s a piece of garbage and I’d never recommend wasting money on it especially now when there are so many better options. Cheers

Hi! My kwadron pen does not lighting. It works and I really like it how, but I dont know.... Am I using it with too low voltage maybe? But the result are okay so i dont know... Sometimes the leds lighting for a sec, but not with this constant light. I use it btw 8 and 11. With a Jhonny Irons feed.

GREAT review, SPOT on all points. My shop owner has one, and I have been waiting for the FK Xion ( which seems to have worked the bugs out as far as "pens") and he has been using it as his daily driver. I concur, as it simply cannot handle all the intricacies of larger pieces. I am simply waiting for it to sputter out...seems soon. His model has no lights btw...but I think I will wait.

I run this machine on 9 volts with the Critical CX-1 when packing blacks, and it's working amazing.. very solid and it's doesn't damage the skin at all.
About the inconsistent sound, I sure don't have that pop,the sound is a very consistent buzzing, and very low. If I run the machine above 9 v. The sound goes up but the buzz will keep the same...
Maybe you have a bad batch...or maybe not...but I assure you the pen I work with, sounds and works really well

Invicta tattoo like I said I’m sure it’s a great machine for some folks, I think the vast majority of people that I’ve spoken to on here share my opinion, I’d assume you’ve never used a hawkpen or xion, those pens are properly built compared to this one and it absolutely shows......of course just my humble opinion.

Katherine Montes like I said, just my opinion and what I found for the way I work. It was a huge downgrade in quality from what I normally use so if you've never used anything better I'd expect you'd be happy with the proton performance, or it may be the perfect pen for how you work.

  • @MrBurns.
    @MrBurns. Рік тому

Bishop is the best running, or functioning, Vlad blad is ok, works well but gets inconsistent after a few months. Cheyenne is the best quality, but doesn’t have the same finesse, or feel as the wand. I have a Kwadron machine along with many others. But I haven’t tattooed with them yet. I agree that pen machines definitely give you the advantage of being able too switch out different needle configurations in abundance. Coil machines are superior. Just a pain in the ass to set up several, and maintain them. Not to forgiving on your joints either.

    • @anthonyjenkins3335

Erik Bonilla the part of the cartridge that engages the machine in all pen style and cartridge machines doesn’t get contaminated unless you are careless and touch it with dirty gloves or put it into a contaminated surface. As long as you’re using a good quality cartridge and common sense while working the inside of the machine stays clean and is completely safe.

You don’t tattoo, you’re not a tattoo artist therefore your opinion isn’t required on the topic of tattoo equipment. It’s shocking that you think so much of yourself to even comment!! Yea I mean you’re right that everyone is different but to be clear I think a good pen should be a solid all around machine for every day and ever job use that’s literally the point of cartridge and pen style setups. This pen specifically was trash, especially compared to what’s available now, obviously it’s been a few years since this review so it’s all fairly irrelevant but if it works for you that’s all that matters. For me it wasn’t a good fit.

For the price comparing to the others, it's an awesome machine because is way less pricey than the others. The reason I started this channel was I bought this pen after being fooled by sponsored reviews of how good it was and then came to find out the opposite. And as far as I’m concerned the “for the price” argument is just ridiculous, if someone isn’t willing to drop an extra $500 or whatever it is to do better tattoos with better equipment and give a better overall experience to their clients then what’s the point of watching these videos??
Also remember it’s been 3 years since this review was made so there’s a chance that the quality has improved and your machine is slightly better than the one I reviewed but from what I hear it’s the exact same machine it was back then. Josh Sanchez it's the only other one on my channel and most power supplies work with it as far as I know, you'll just won't something with an accurate volt reading.

I bought the Proton MX today and i'm really dissapointed 😑😑😑, even the Bronc Pen runs faster and more powerfull than this... the price is just for the brand

Yea it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice, sorry you ended up with a dud. For a similar priced machine that’s actually really good try the stigma thorn or the Neuma 4 both really great options

Where do you get it that this machine has adjustable stroke? It has adjustable needledepth not stroke! Get your reviews done correct.

Heyo, thanks for the review, I m looking into some pen guns, never used before, I m always looking into the cheapest and the most expensive ones and also I check as many reviews as possible before buying. Some products are much cheaper than others, amd sometimes even better or slightly less better or much worse, that is in general, but I guess when in comes to this gun, I might skip it.
Have u been testing a ego pen gun? Price is same as this one and wasn t sure which one is better. If Ego sucks also, I ll kill my grandma, take her money and buy a cheyenne in the end 😂

Firstjon Lastbrown well there's loads of "learn to tattoo" videos on UA-cam that are probably more up your alley.
