They actually gave all the employees cake at the manufacturing plant in Sweden because of how smooth the introduction of the super engine was (I know this cuz I work there)

The boat button on the key is to disable the alarm when traveling on a ferry as they sometimes get triggered by the sway of the vessel

My dad has a modded v8 as-well and they have ferry bottoms on all SCANIA truck keys even tee cabs and old trucks well old isd
Tim, the back of a fire appliance is just known as the lockers. This also contains the water tank. The volvo ones I drove were 1800 litre tanks
Love these new Scanias, the power is amazing and its nice to hear the turbo spool and the exhaust brake. Not to mention how ergonomically designed they seem with the nicely laid out buttons etc
Not sure about some of the tech though, dont know why you need to be told a corner is coming as surely you'd be able to see it lol

Thats a good idea, alarms are always going off on the ferry.
Hey Tim so most important question is what did you have from kfc? 😂 Those folding steps you liked on the fire engine were a standard fixture on the 4 series topline streamline version. They give a very nice neat finish. Maybe get some sorted for your restoration 👍

The boat button on the keyfob is when you go on a ferry, you're alarm won't go of by movement of the ship. The doors will shut by pressing it.

When I was a boy I used to spend my holidays going out with my dad in his lorry and going around the country……the lorries of today are a lot more purpose built and practical for long distance than they was back then. Obviously as I got older things changed but I always remember those days and how tough a job it is to drive long distance for a living.

Just watched this again, had the pleasure of driving a 560 S tag demo gor 3 weeks. Normally drive a R500 but my god what a difference in power, unbelievable truck, pulled like a trian it was effortless to drive.

That cab looks like my 20 plate scania skip truck (haven’t got a fridge, microwave or bed though). The auto gearbox drives best in power mode. Tim you would absolutely love the scania dealer we have to take our trucks to every 6 weeks for a service etc, keltruck in West Bromwich have hundreds of trucks

The bit on the back of fire trucks is the lockers where they keep the hoses above the axels, road traffic accident equipment on the left side with the water light portable pump on the right side as well as first aid bags, defibrillator etc, fixed hose reels on both sides and more

I passed my test in July and drive a 71 plate r450 scania now I'm a night tramper. Very comfortable and good power delivery. Only niggle is the gearbox is sluggish for the first 5 mins.

3:04 it’s got air conditioned seats! I’m going to have my Renault Magnum fitted with these! I live in Florida, and I imported a Renault Magnum, and air cooled seats for our hot summers are a god send!

So odd clicking on a youtube video in my suggestions to find the video is in a place local to me lol. I'm in Kettering and have ridden on those roads hundreds of times on my motorcycle. Been getting back into Euro Truck Sim 2 and have been watching a load of youtube trucking vids recently. Would love a ride in a truck sometime but likely will never happen lol. Greetings from the United States!! My dad is a truck driver so thats my connection to the profession. Anyways I've always loved Euro trucks in fact I like them more than American Bottle Nose trucks. European trucks just look so modern and nimble i just love them. My favorite is the Volvos but seeing this Scania I have to say I'm quite enamored by it! anyways love the content this is the first video I've seen and if by some miracle you make it State side hope you get to drive one of our massive 18 wheelers!

Mate these lorries are great, I drive a 72 plate at work for Nationwide platforms. The sensors go mad they go off constantly in the rain and wind. They have the turning circle of a London black taxi!

My dad moved them both once you’d finished the next morning. He told me to tell you the back of the fire engine is called the body which turns it into a fire tender👍🏼

Should look at Tru Plant in Ipswich, they do heavy haulage like you wanted and you’d get a brand new Scania every 3 years

On the 6 axel truck can you get 2 powered axels with the tag lift version

So don’t drive up kerbs hard.
It’s the same for cars, motorcycles & push bikes. Kerbs ruin equipment by damaging them. Lovely truck
