Glad you liked the DAF! I used to drive the same model, but then the SpaceCab and a 440 engine. No rough shifting on mine though 🤔 It was a real pleasure to work with!
I have a daf xf 480 it was off the road for three years because of a minor accident is no rough shifting but it’s very comfortable and I use it every day for work and the bed is so comfy the daf xf is spot on even mine runs like a 530 😀🇬🇧
Hi Tim, don't run before you can walk, personally leave the T Cab where it is until you get up and running, there will be others when you have established yourself in your business.
Drove DAF for many years good trucks. It was the only truck I could get really comfy in, the driver seat is brill. Another good vlog as always and in my honest opinion (one driver to another) the T cab is very good looking but would be better in right hand drive just my opinion.
3:27 was a truck carrying a wide load static caravan/chalet or something. All parked up nice and straight in the bushes, amazing that it hadn't jack knifed or rolled over!
Fun fact for you here ..3:22- that bit where you said ‘someone’s been in there’ on the m6 was a beautiful flatbed trailer artic with a office type show home on the back that had somehow ended up in there. It was sat in the trees for ages. If memory serves me right it was a scania
We have about 14 DAF XF 106 530 SSCs like you were driving, a few older 106 510 SSCs, a couple of DAF LFs from 2006-2017 & 2 XG+ 530s. Also got a load of scanias ranging from R450 to 770S V8 and a couple of Volvo FHs and about 10 Mercedes Actros’.
If you get a T-cab you should get the longline version.
It has a huge interior
I love how excited you are over the active cruise control. Wait until you sample a new MP5 actros with the PPC. Slows down and speeds up for corners and roundabouts, that and the lack of mirrors it has. I like the Actros but prefer the Scania but would be nice to integrate some of the Mercedes tech into the Scania truck
Great vid Tim, even better that you were literally right next to my work. I'm transport supervisor at Carr's billington which is next to Dennison's main yard. Before there I had 11 years driving the milk tanks at S J Bargh, next to where you collected your trailer. 👌👍 Keep up the good work Tim. 🍺

Just came across your channel for the first time today mate. I'm liking your stuff and you're absolutely bonkers! 🤣 unlike some other truck vloggers (won't mention names) that take themselves too seriously. The T cab would be suitable for the work you did in this video, collecting and delivering trailers. It wouldn't be suitable for general delivery work as you might struggle in some yards with the long bonnet. Also as it would be an investment, you would be keeping the mileage down for when you sell it on. So why not...? Have fun!👍🏻

For truck experience days an xf 3 over 3 or 4 over 4 would be an excellent addition to the line up for those that fancy a go in a manual truck.

the t cab really is an investment both for the channel but also in the long run i imagine they will keep going up in value the rarer they get id go for it
It's definitely a 4 series with a rebuild nose to make it look like a R series.
If done properly, no issues, but when not done properly you're gonna see cracks in the paintwork around the R serie panel they welded in the 4 serie nose. I had one just like that, and we had to repaint the nose every year.
Like you say in the video, they changed all 4 serie parts for Rserie parts. But an original R serie nose doesn't fit on a 4 serie, that is why the weld in the R serie panel from a front steer, which can give you a lot of problems.

I used to go into DataShredders with Pallet Network. I was based out of Wisbech, and i live just around the corner from Chatteris (in a place called Dodington). Drove for a few companies around that area (Warnes at Kings Lynn, Lynn Star at Kings Lynn, Knowles Transport, Ceva in Wisbech), the best job i had was driving for AB Texel, doing continental stuff, just personal reasons (family) made me leave that job. Your vids are good :)

It has been build bij Vlastuin in The Netherlands, they allways do a Proper Job on building T-Cabs, not only for Scania, but they also build a Daf T-Cab and a Volvo one!

I used to live in wolves when you went through there!, lived there my entire life but thankfully got out recently, the drivers are mental.
I'm not a lorry snob, I like Scania, Volvo's and DAF 's I do like the 106xf but my favourite lorry was the FH16 750. I used to load a bloke that come from Italy. Ay the time they wasn't really used in England, only on heavy haulage. 👍 Any way, great video tim.

Personally, i LOVE DAF's, i had a 58 plate LHD, 350bhp on an 18t chassis, and it FLEW !!!! the cabs are really nice, and the ZF gearbox was really smooth, much nicer than the MAN box, but not as good as the Volvo FMX box
We got a couple of XF's in work and they are a fantastic truck! We got a couple of XG's too and they are just a different league!

yeah everything youve said about the gearbox is typical zf. i drive vanhool and vdl coaches here in holland and its exactly the same. Especially in the vdl's it seems like.

I would buy it if I was u Tim, u have always been a big fan of T cab and personally I would use that as your work truck. Looks way better than most other trucks and also it’s road ready small things u can change on it to your liking

I used to build them trailers for Dennison trailers in Ireland hahaha. Most of them trailers got shipped over from Ireland

Oh my god Tim yessss buy the t cab get it air brushed. You could also get a flatbed to transport your other 4 series to shows when it’s done and use the t cab as the primary unit.

What are your thoughts on the DAF XF? I feel like the Scania is better but it's a great little truck.
id say the DAF XF and SCANIA are equal but dafs are comfier and scanias are powerfull and fast so i hope one day scania and daf will team up and combine the two makes

Daf xf is a nicer cab in my opinion. But the gearbox has nothing on Volvo and scania.
The new scania cabs are miles better thou, I haven’t seen the new dafs yet.
Those auto boxes on the dafs let them down because they are rubbish, The cabs are lovely though especially to have any length of stay in them, also the matress ont he beds are probably the best out there
