Sekhar Raja You know, I wish I did get around to seeing those! It was those movies where I felt like I need to have seen the previous MI movies, which I unfortunately haven’t either so I feared they’d be hard for me to follow.
The most amazing thing about 12 Years a Slave is how rewatchable it is. Its similar to Shindlers List in that sense. It's a horrendous horrifying subject matter but It's so masterful & compelling that you can't turn away.
The Social Network should be up there. It’s Fincher, Sorkin, and Reznor/Ross at their absolute best. In fact, I still consider it one of the greatest scores ever made. The movie’s subject matter shouldn’t really be entertaining in the first place, but they pulled it off. And from a deeper perspective, it offers some pretty timely social commentary.
THE TREE OF LIFE, THE MASTER, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, BOYHOOD, PARASITE, INSIDE LLWEYN DAVIS, ROMA, THE LOBSTER, MOONLIGHT, A SEPARATION, MOTHER!, DRIVE, PHANTOM THREAD
No order but these come to mind 1. Interstellar 2. Drive 3. Prisoners 4. Place beyond the pines 5. Logan 6. Good time 7. Dawn of the planet of the apes 8. A Star is born 9. Ford v Ferrari 10. Hereditary
im glad you mentioned harry potter. i'm not even the biggest fan but I've loved every single movie up until the last. I shed a tear every time its on TV. lastly, there will never be another movie like infinity war or endgame EVER! i don't care how many people try to pick these movies apart, what they did not only highlighted my year but it impacted my life. When i have kids, i will for damn sure tell my kids about how the greatest movie of all time broke the box office, joined the billion dollar club, it shattered a lot of emotions and even broke the internet. seriously! its been 5 months and people are still talking about this movie. i'm still waiting for this movie to become a national holiday.

Wolf of Wall Street is by far the best movie of the decade for me. I've rewatched it almost fifty times all the way through and it never loses it steam. Very few films have pulled that off this decade.
My TOP 10: 10- Inside Out 9- Get Out 8- Logan 7- Inception 6- Whiplash 5- 12 Years A Slave 4- Parasite 3- Drive 2- Blue Valentine 1- The Master HM- Gone girl, Mad Max, TWOWS, Moonlight, Fury, Ex Machina, Nightcrawler, Arrival, Marriage Story, A Star is Born and Take Shelter.
Favorite film per year for the past decade: 2010: Inception 2011: The Artist 2012: The Dark Knight Rises 2013: Her 2014: Interstellar 2015: Anomolisa 2016: Batman v Superman 2017: mother! 2018: Hereditary 2019: Joker/ The Irishman (tie)
Nikolas Mokalis no, I just thought it was a really interesting story about how a Superman who’s still fairly new to the public is perceived by said public, and how their perception impacts him and his thoughts on his actions. And on the Batman side, a hero who with time and age has grown more weary towards the world and people. But in the end, both men find that even in darkness, there is still good, and it’ll be there even when they’re gone. Basically, a story about finding optimism in a pessimistic world
Love the choices you guys made. 2010s movies are filled with such creative originals. My favorite of all this decade is actually Inception. And that's from 2010. All in all, love this video! Double Toasted, you guys are always awesome!!! I still have a list, it's not just Inception that I love! Lol!!! - Eddy OUT!!!
Tough to put together such a list for this decade. It's like you have the best and worse of each year. In terms of genre, storytelling, small budget, big budget, pop culture following, etc. I mean there is a lot to think about with such a list.
Some of my personal favs Under The Skin What We Do In The Shadows Dredd Frank Spring Breakers Jodorowsky's Dune Lighthouse We Are The Best Only Lovers Left Alive

I feel that a lot of films from 2010-2015 get heavily ignored on these best of the decade lists I've been seeing, the same could be said about music as well, it might be an issue of irrelevancy, them not staying that fresh in our memories, or perhaps people's taste in those early decade films are slim to none, it's just something I have noticed lately.
Some of the films that were my favorites here in no particular order are: -La La Land -Whiplash -Her -Inception -Silver Linings Playbook -American Hustle -The Revenant -Mad Max: Fury Road -Dallas Buyers Club -Pacific Rim 1 -Godzilla -Edge Of Tomorrow -Logan -Isle Of Dogs -The Shape Of Water -Hugo -Captain Phillips -Bridge Of Spies -American Made -Kubo And The Two Strings -Zootopia -Inside Out -Avengers 1-3 -Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows -Rango -How To Train Your Dragon -The Lego Movie -Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy -The Planet Of The Apes Trilogy -The Social Network -Molly's Game -Camp X-Ray -The Big Short -A Star Is Born -Interstellar -Dunkirk -Dolemite Is My Name -Once Upon A Time In Hollywood -Klaus -Argo -Gravity -Ad Astra -Roma -Coco -The Hunger Games -Sicario -Joker -Irishman -The Martian -Oblivion -Life Of Pi -Legend Of The Guardians -Dark Knight Rises A bit of a mess, but really big ones I watched
Whiplash is my favorite. Watched it 6 times, each time with different friends. I love to see thier reactions and we have debates about the characters and actions in the movie
I'm not even a jazz fan, especially the fast-paced type the film portrays, but every time that final scene shows up, I'm always on the edge of my seat.
My top 10 i would say is... Spiderman:Into the spider-verse Logan 12 years a Slave Django Unchained Fast Five Bumblebee Skyfall HTTYD Mission Impossible:Fallout Baby Driver
I FUCKING LOVE WHIPLASH!!!! Not only a great film with a great writing, amazing acting, and real skill on display, but a great story with a character going beyond dedication to a craft, pretty much obsession to be not only recognized by his ruthless as fuck teacher but also be one of the greats. And yes, the best ending ever. The teacher was ruthless in his methods for sure, but imo never the bad guy. He saw potential in a student, and he fucking bludgeoned it out of him. And as a musician myself, I thought I was little biased on loving the fuck out of this movie ever since I saw it when it came out... but after seeing everyone also putting it on their list... well, maybe not.
My top 10 of the decade 10. Midnight in Paris 9. 21 Jump Steet 8. Silver Linings Playbook 7. Birdman 6. Batman: Return is the Caped Crusaders 5. It Follows 4. The Wolf of Wall Street 3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2. The Avengers (2012) 1. The Favourite

My Top 5 not in any particular order (well, except for the first one) “Whiplash” “The Wolf of Wall Street” “Django Unchained” “Call Me by Your Name” “Baby Driver”
Under the Skin wins it for me. Every frame of that film is riveting. And it was one of the early A24 films, who have gone on to make, hands down, the best movies of the decade. They owned this decade. That said, Whiplash was a fucking masterpiece.

ANYONE who says the avengers arent real cinema, should've been prohibited from ever watching any movie in theaters again. the avengers saga isnt JUST cinema, but are TRUE CINEMA. its a return to the serials of flash gordon and zorro. the cinema cartoons. its something that might never be done again, because its almost impossible to do! its an achievement that brought everyone together to cheer and cry, but more importantly, to desire going back in the next one to see what will happen next.
Well here's a few random ones off the top of my head Inception, Sicario, Mad Max, Detroit, Rush, John Wick, Arrival, The babadook, the conjuring, Wolf of Wall Street, and my personal favorite series of the decade the new planet of the apes movies

NEVER EVER do a hierarchical rank list of anything. It's not worth the argument within yourself, and with others to figure out a top 5-10 list. Just list them, like these guys.
(That I saw...In no order) Prisoners Whiplash Bird Man Blade Runner 2049 Gone Girl Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Nocturnal Animals Inception Ex Machina Annihilation Manchester by the Sea Burning Spot Light
Blade Runner 2049 Fury Road Spiderverse Blindspotting Brawl on Cell Block 99 (it was such a throw back) Logan Infinity Saga Rogue One Get Out The Revenant (it was this or a Tarantino Film, but I truly get lost in the cinematic experience of that film)
I am really glad you guys included the Marvel's saga of films in here because quite frankly, as many as there are Marvel's dick-suckers out there ( which i probably certified as one too), there's also too many people who look down upon and undermine the cinematic feats that Marvel managed to pull off with their cinematic universe, not appreciating the amazing efforts they put into it. Infinity War was an impossible film to make, and yet somehow they did it by patiently, meticulously and masterfully crafting every single characters for a decade before bringing them together in the final conclusion that left people with euphoria, excitement, and heart wrenching farewells. and when a movie moved people like Marvel did, in my opinion, that is the greatest achievement any movies ever hope to reach.

im glad you mentioned harry potter. i'm not even the biggest fan but I've loved every single movie up until the last.
JJ people hate the mcu because of insecurities. Simple as that.

@@adriantheabstract Hey thanks! What's yours?
My top 10. Only got one Marvel movie in there and it's mostly for personal reasons:
Drive
Whiplash
Wolf of Wall Street
Blade Runner 2049
The Nice Guys
Inside Llewyn Davis
Mad Max: Fury Road
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Guest
Coco
Wolf of Wall Street is by far the best movie of the decade for me. I've rewatched it almost fifty times all the way through and it never loses it steam. Very few films have pulled that off this decade.
Also, it’s amazingly energetic for 70+ year old Martin Scorsese, who has had a great film every decade since the 1970s.
My TOP 10:
10- Inside Out
9- Get Out
8- Logan
7- Inception
6- Whiplash
5- 12 Years A Slave
4- Parasite
3- Drive
2- Blue Valentine
1- The Master
HM- Gone girl, Mad Max, TWOWS, Moonlight, Fury, Ex Machina, Nightcrawler, Arrival, Marriage Story, A Star is Born and Take Shelter.
Favorite film per year for the past decade:
2010: Inception
2011: The Artist
2012: The Dark Knight Rises
2013: Her
2014: Interstellar
2015: Anomolisa
2016: Batman v Superman
2017: mother!
2018: Hereditary
2019: Joker/ The Irishman (tie)
Brian Costello how anyone can like BVS that much is beyond me. Is it because it has Batman and Superman in it?
I'm so happy you guys mentioned silver Linings Playbook! One of my favorite movies of the decade and of all time! So underrated.
Tough to put together such a list for this decade.
It's like you have the best and worse of each year.
In terms of genre, storytelling, small budget, big budget, pop culture following, etc.
I mean there is a lot to think about with such a list.

I feel like its because of how long those years have passed, which is why I think they don't hold to much memory

Skyfall

Mission Impossible:Fallout

“The Wolf of Wall Street”
“Django Unchained”
“Call Me by Your Name”

Under the Skin wins it for me. Every frame of that film is riveting. And it was one of the early A24 films, who have gone on to make, hands down, the best movies of the decade. They owned this decade. That said, Whiplash was a fucking masterpiece.
An EXTREMELY underrated film and one of my favorites of the decade: Beasts of the Southern Wild
