Out of all the reveals/twists in this movie, what is the one that really bothered you? Even if you enjoyed the movie, there is probably one thing that you really were not happy with?
Double Toasted The I Am A Jedi moment. Also, JJ Abrams is the kid in High School breaks up with his girl, and try to find the similar to same traits to her.
This is way you always make a outline of how you want a trilogy to go before you make it. Look at the MCU. They had a plan before Iron Man was released and that was in 2008.
How about this question. In The Last Jedi, Snoke wanted Rey dead and for Kylo to be the one to kill her to complete his training. Now that Palpatine was revealed to be the one behind Snoke, why would he want her dead? He wants her alive here so that he could transfer his essence to her.
It's the same scenario of Wanting Darth Vader to kill Luke Skywalker and wanting Luke Skywalker to kill Darth Vader. It didn't matter who survived from Kylo or Rey because Darth Sedious can transfer himself to either or. Once he seen both together as a Dyad and took their life force he knew then that it would be better to take out both of them to revive his body as the Dyad had the power of life itself.
Agreed made no sense Sidious wanting to kill her, he was obsessed with turning Luke, but never wanted to turn Rey it seemed. It made more sense for him to try to turn her. She didn't grow up with a family Luke did, and she's Palpatines blood relative. Rey my opinion would be easier to mold.
It's a sad day that star wars has become like 99% of other blockbusters out there. You sit there stare at things happening on screen and when it's over all you can say is "well that was a movie"
@@millabasset1710 you misread that. I never considered these high art but they were at one point in the upper echelon of blockbusters were you got something out of it. Now it feels like hobbs and shaw, it's just there and feels generic like most big movies nowadays
They will never allow the black guy to kiss the white girl... or to make a black dude a new jedi. Samuel L Jackson was the last black jedi... and the kid is always a young blonde white kid. But yeah, they would rather let Rey kiss the villain to retain race purity. Disgustingly biased
Yes it does and whats worse about it is they bring back the Emperor but not even Anakin as a force ghost himself. The two have alot of history together, it feels as though you cant bring one back without the other in some capacity. Anakin should have reached through from the never-realm of the force to aid Ben Solo. And what really doesnt make sense here is that Aankin and even other past Jedi call out to Rey, but NOT Ben Solo, someone who actually carries the Skywalker Blood in him. Rey isnt even a Skywalker shes a palpatine out of nowhere. The whole thing is one big inconsistent mess.
@@RaikenXion not even just a force ghost if your gonna bring palps back then anakin has to also come back and be the one to kill him. Not helo someone kill him but do the deed himself.
I’m a fan of the concept of Star Wars (spaceships, lightsabers, aliens) but for the love of god.... enough with the nostalgia and explore more characters!!!!! It’s a fucking universe...I’m sure there are more stories and characters to explore.
That's what they are planning for future movies, to move to new stories with new characters. Of course, the people who said this is what they wanted will bitch about it when they actually get it.
@@notchuckproductions5029 people spent two years crying about TLJ for not having enough fan service and doing something different. now they are complaining about getting something they actually want? jj is a director he's not a psychiatrist who can help a bipolar fanbase.
@@leanmantern2862 Lol they didnt give the *fans* what they want. They gave the hyper active *fanatics* who live vicariously through this bullshit trilogy, what they wanted.
She was only powerful because he and anakin was gone and luke was disconnected. Hence the force over corrected. On top of that, he probably was cooking her up on return of the Jedi idk how old she was but Vader was still useful. I bet he was thinking “ imma get my granddaughter during her teenage angst after the whole crush the rebellion thing”. Plus I bet he’d just try to steal her body anyway lol
Mutale Mwananshiku not saying she was I’m saying that could’ve been palpatines plan. Like how old could she have been during ROTJ? His plan could’ve been to deal with the rebels then go after rey while she’s young and angsty since the new movies are yearsss past ROTJ.
@@TriggeringOpinionsandFacts why couldnt he gone after rey while dealing with the rebels wouldnt it better to have her when she is a really young girl ?
Kerri Russell’s character literally gave them the coin so they could get off the planet and on the star destroyer. That same planet was destroyed later making us think she was dead as without the coin she couldn’t leave the planet . But there she is at the end meaning she got off the planet anyway and the whole coin thing was pointless
@Thulsa Doom We didn't get to see her whole face, though we all know Keri Russell is beautiful. Such a waste. Like Double Toasted said, they could use her to reveal more of Poe's past. Her whole purpose is to give them a coin.
Yes thats a good point, her character was alot like Captain Phasma (remember her?), a visually cool looking mysterious female character, that was written poorly and doesnt really do alot. Also another inconsistency everyone kept talking bout the Jet Troopers, but did you notice Kylo heads to Exogol in a Empire-era Tie Fighter? Those ships never even had hyperdrives.
I think that the character that got the most devlopment in the mess that is the last three films, was Kylo/Ben but he wasn't the focus. They wanted to make the female lead the focus but they didn't know how to write for her. The only time she was interesting is in relation to Kylo. Another thing the bothered me the diversity characters like Finn, Rose,Lando, etc. They had no point at all. They set up Finn to be force sensitive, but never paid it off. He just keep "feeling things" the Rose /Fin romance never got paid off. Then they introduced Zanna and kicked Rose to the curb. Ugh! Kylo and Rey kiss then he just straight dies. They killed the whole Skywalker and Solo family lineage! But the Palpatines get to live? RU serious!. I don't care that she took the Skywalker name she is a Palpatine! The emperor won.
I never liked that either that Rey pick-pocketed the Skywalker name, it was never hers, she never even got to know Luke Skywalker at all because RJ purposefully wrote her to never bond with Luke or become friends with him like she did Han Solo. Also Rey hardly really got to know Leia, shes trained by her inside of one measly YEAR!? And yet sjes learned all this force-healing, can push herself to even display force lightening. Anakin was taught by Obi Wan for like a good twenty years of his life and never reached those kinds of abilities. They were pushing for the female lead to be the focus because of Kathleen Kennedy's obsession with "female empowerment" in this Disney Trilogy, which in itself is not a problem, only when it comes at the cost of any substance and the story. And here the story, the writing was weak. The writing here is simply not creative, what i mean is the writers, JJ and Terrio have not truly sat down and became naturally immersed in the worlds they're setting up and the characters, to the point it all flows and they naturally find their story. Their writing is very "calculated" , their writing of The Rise of Skywalker comes from this attitude of "oh we need to get to this point because we need this mac-guffin in their, and we need to do this like that to appease this demographic of the fan base." Its truly bad writing, at this point they deserve ALL of the fans to straight out criticize them, and then on top of that Disney's Galaxy's Edge should fail big time, just to teach them a lesson in how badly they have handled this beloved saga and it's characters.
@@RaikenXion Also how is Leia training Rey? Leia is not a Jedi master. Where did Leia get her training from and if she can train, why didn't she train her son? This trilogy was meant to end the Skywalkers, especially Luke. Bringing back Palpatine destroys the story of Anakin and Luke and makes episode 6 pointless....It's SAD!!!
This Trilogy was a major disappointment and I blame Kathleen Kennedy for not having a road map created. There was no cohesion whatsoever. JJ and Rian obviously wanted to tell two different stories. No creative ever seemed to be on the same page. The past two films really seemed to go against the lore and mythology, which further shows how out of touch these people were. At least The Mandalorian and Fallen Order are great. Star Wars used to be an experience and now it is just an annualized cash grab, unfortunately.
@Brennan So you blame Kathleen Kennedy, not Bob Iger for trying to make Star Wars more like Marvel by having one Star Wars movie a year? Or for not giving Abrams more time to work on episode nine after changing directors at the last minute? It's all Kennedy's fault? Sorry, but nothing about TFA or TLJ went against the lore especially when I'm pretty sure the Lucasfilm story group was more involved with previous two films then they were with TROS. As JJ and Rian wanted to tell different stories, JJ wasn't even meant to come back for episode nine. TFA and TLJ are practically one movie separated into two parts. TFA and TLJ compliment each other too well to honestly say there is no cohesion, anything that happened in TLJ is a direct result to TFA.
neosoontoretro well, we can agree to disagree, because I firmly believe you really don’t know what you are talking about. Kathleen Kennedy oversaw this trilogy and the lack of planning shows. Sure, Colin Trevorrow was meant to direct 9, but that whole firing and rehiring of JJ further validates Kathleen Kennedy’s incompetence with this entire trilogy.
@@Staetter09 So again, it's Kennedy who is incompetent for hiring the guy who made a good Star Wars movie with TFA. And Iger has no responsibility whatsoever even though he could have pushed the movie back to late 2020 thus giving Abrams and company more time but he choose not to. Sure, whatever. As for lack of planning, you've been watching way too many MCU movies. Just because not all the movies turned out great doesn't mean they didn't have a plan. Oh right, I must not know what I'm talking about because reasons.
JJ did the exact same thing in Star Trek: Into Darkness. Was there any reason why Khan was in that movie? It's the same thing as Palpatine in Rise of Skywalker. JJ just put him in there because he's a popular villain.
KingOfMadCows And then has him introduce himself with a flat, perfunctory " My name is Khan", without affording him the dignity of at least using his full name ( if not the much more dramatic reveal the character deserved!)
I don’t mind that he was handled rather well, made me entertained and I wasn’t even a Trekkie fan b4 the 09 reboot. But I watch the show and love the movies equally
The real person to blame is kathleen kennedy, for not having a clear vision of how to continue star wars. They should've had an outline of all 3 movies, AT LEAST, before starting production on the first one.
Why would he announce his return?! What is the advantage or doing that? Also he has bigger firepower than ever before? He had to have planned this stuff at what time exactly? It's sooo bad.
Remove the stupid 30 min casino scenes in last Jedi to develop the emperor behind the scenes in that movie. Then maybe rise of Skywalker would be better
Bro, that whole thing with Finn being paired up with that girl cause they were both black and ex-storm troopers was basically the Mike Tyson "now kith". meme. This movie's so plagued by lazy/bad writing.
The biggest problem with the new trilogy is a lack of cohesion that result from two directors disregarding the each other's plans and ideas and just doing their own thing.
lol what? i don't understand this fan base. you want to talk lack of cohesion? how about leia making out with her brother? how about vader not being able to sense his own son on the same ship. i mean dude i can do this shit all day with the originals.
@@AntiFaGoat Yes, pretty much. And even with excellent collaboration there has to be someone at the head of the table to say out of all these great ideas this is the ONE that WE are going with. And Kennedy is no stranger to firing directors who don't stay in line. So, in the end what we see with this trilogy is her CHOSEN storyline (or lack thereof) on screen. I put that on her and by extension Bob Iger more so than on the directors though the directors bear some weight of the blame as well.
It's a labyrinth of plots and plot holes which ends up making a mockery of the original Star Wars trilogy - Everyone is yelling, they zip from planet to planet searching for a "Wayfinder," a Sith compass!!! WTF is that shit? Palpatine just reveals an enormous fleet of Planet Killer Destroyers that were made below the ice somehow??? How did Palpatine get the mineral resources, the personnel and the money to create such a vast fleet??? WTF? Then after Kylo kills his own father, behaves like an evil turd - Rey kisses the dying creep? What does this say about that old cliche 'girls love jerks'? WTF is that BS!? ... Then finally they reveal that Rey is a Palpatine - yet she calls herself a Skywalker at the end ... OMFG! So she kills Palpatine, denies the darkside of the force and calls herself a Skywalker - she ain't no Skywalker! FFS! ... terrible terrible film! ... all these prequels and sequels simply feel like silly comedic 'fan films' - to me they are all a load of ssssshhhhhiiiittttt. Only the Mandalorian series has got it right.
100% facts. You nailed it there. You can tear apart this abomination much more but there is no point just like there was never a point, besides cash grabbing, for this sequel trilogy. Only thing that's come out of this is the destruction of Lucas' vision and the point of the first 6 movies
Mandalorian doesn't know what it wants to be. The sequels are good but have their flaws. This is exactly like return of the jedi. Why complain and say WTF when half of this stuff isn't real.
@@SuperGamerxl ??? The Mandalorian knows 'exactly' what it wants to be - it is a scifi western - in the way that the original star wars was. You may not appreciate that as you prefer these new clusterfukk comedy films that are made by loonies in an asylum. I like the slower, simpler scifi western themes that The Mandalorian is exploring, it nails the star wars universe perfectly. I try to ignore the sequels as fan made trash.
mondomacabro major it’s not a western if it clearly becomes something like rouge one and solo at the end. Westerns were episodic and had no storyline, but the mandolorian is trying to be both on a short run time and less episodes. At that’s ultimately what makes it bad in my opinion. This trilogy did have great talent behind it, it was flawed but in the in it’s more worthy of being a trilogy than the prequels.
@@SuperGamerxl Totally disagree - the original first episode of Star Wars took the laser blasters of Flash Gordon serials and put them in the low-slung holsters of gunslingers, space cowboys who do black market business in dusty off world colonies, while the draconian Empire tries to hold power - that is what was so cool about it - Empire and Return of the Jedi expanded the 'western' themes into more of a collage of fairy tales, WW2 dogfight movies and Casablanca - but the space gunslinger theme was always there. The Mandalorian simply focuses on the scifi western themes more clearly in short sharp stories which - like the old serials work excellently in keeping you wanting more... Where the sequels failed was packing so much into the films that they lost there 'stylised star wars theme' and became just another silly scifi like The Fifth Element and Valerian ...
The entire Disney trilogy is terribly bad, they thought they could just rely on nostalgia with horrible non-sensical twists at various moments, there was no planning whatsoever, Abrams copy-pasted Episode IV in Force Awakens, Johnson fucked every stroryline in Last Jedi, and Abrams came back to try fix the damage, but he also destroyed all concepts of quality or imagination for the final chapter, it was a clusterfuck of galactic proportions, this is not SW, the saga ended with Return of the Jedi.
@@maskedvigilante909 how? at the ends where all of those people show up in their ships, they dont do shit, they just show the scene when they arrive and you dont see them again, also all of the ships that came out of the ice dont do shit either, theyre just sitting there doing shit, when chewy gets captured, the enemy's ship is literally like 30 feet away, no one saw or heard them land, THATS BAD WRITING, because of REY chewy got captured because instead of escaping shes like "let me go into the desert" DUUUUUMB MOVIE!
Crazy how marvel did it so right and how Star Wars did it so wrong. Both are Disney franchises. Just shows you how competent Kevin Feige and his team is and how they had an idea of how things were going to work in their universe. It also shows how completely incompetent Kathleen Kennedy and her team is and how they didn’t have a single clue how to do a Star Wars trilogy
Yup JEFFREY is right these franchises belong to Disney just as much as DC belongs to Warner. Marvel was lucky to have someone with a singular solid vision keep all of the many creative minds on one path. Kathleen Kennedy wanted to use Star Wars as her platform to push her agenda through her yes men. Anyone who didn't say yes got the push with stupid excuses for their departure. Can't believe I'm saying this but fuck Star Wars.
Andre I feel your pain. Ever major franchise as of late - save for the Marvel films - has shown that the creatives behind these movies just don’t care.
i mean rey training, luke said he was wrong ,kylo beated rey in a 1v1 , if only TLJD didn't happen and this movie is splitted in to 2 then it could be watchable
All we can do is reward good films made by passionate people. Explore further than just soulless blockbusters and give your money to original properties that are trying to do something interesting.
Rose seems to be doing well compared to little Jake Lloyd. That kid stopped acting because people hated on 9 year old Anakin so much. So as far as "Bullying" Rose. Yes, people can be jerks when they don't like a character in a popular franchise (and can't separate characters from actors). But I wish people would stop bringing it up as if it's exclusive to Kellie Marie Tran. More people flat out disliked the pointless character then thought the actress deserved hate IRL. There's a difference.
@ hell yeah you should feel empathy, these people are jerks. What I am saying is that the primary critisim of Rose as a bad character is based on legitimate story crticisims and has nothing to do with Tran. There isn't this huge "-ist" problem among allegedly toxic fans because of the actions of a few blown out of perportion by the access media. And these jerks have always existed. The jerk minority bullied a LITTLE BOY for a movie he didn't write. It's not some all out attack against diversity in Star Wars.
@ Agreed Finn was a mess (as far as giving him a good arc). And it is sad Rose got sidelined as a slap in the face to Last Jedi instead of just writing her better.
@ is there a huge difference between going after a child for a fictional character and going after an adult woman, with or without racial issues? I don't think there is.
I agree with Martin that normally you want to build upon previous material and expand upon it, but Rian Johnson left _nothing_ to expand upon and _nowhere_ to go. He killed every major plot point and left a dead end, so I can't get too mad at the terrible writing here.
Even if true, that means JJ had a blank slate and STILL chose to regurgitate this whole Palpatine "pulling the strings the whole time" nonsense. So that's on him.
Dude, that's not even true. Let's look at where the characters and plot sit at the end of TLJ: Kylo Ren is now the leder of a new First Order that seeks to remake the galaxy by destroying it and rebuilding. Poe is now the de facto leader of a new resistance fighting to stop them by staying incognito and using stealth/trickery. Rey is the last jedi and in possession of the surviving history of the Jedi Order. Luke gives up his "crude matter" and ascends to a form more powerful than anyone could ever imagine. Meanwhile, a new generation of force sensitive children are awakening around the galaxy. You could probably come up with a half-way decent narrative successor to that in two minutes. JJ simply didn't bother trying. (Edited for grammar)
Michael Gagnon thank you. Detractors keep saying there was nowhere to go after TLJ. There was plenty. A lack of imagination and fear of something new is why we didn’t get anything interesting.
Some of the worst writing I’ve seen in a theater. J.J. and Rian are the tag team from hell. Don’t know why they thought they had to bring in the Justice League writer to make this trilogy even worse...
Well tbh people should have saw it coming with Chris Terrio. But it does baffle me why Hollywood make such decisions, they're so in their own little world and out of touch with how fans see and feel about their movies.
@olskool71 well what'd done is done, Snyder cut... Dead, the DCEU has finally woken up and is now getting back on its feet, shazam, aqua man and wonder woman 2, give these heroes their own stories and THEN, you have the right to make Justice league
@olskool71 I don't care, shazam, aquaman are by far the best that have come out of the DCEU, and even those films are kinda average, this universe has a LONG way to go before it can properly compete with the MCU
@olskool71 I'm not an MCU fanboy, only good films that came from that universe were ironman, the captain america trilogy, avengers, Thor ragnarock. But the DCEU is a mess, man of steel is mediocre and all over the place, bvs is a pretentious travesty, suicide squad is horrible film making, wonder woman is a good film that had a terrible third act that ruins the theme of the film, justice league is average, shazam is good but far from great, aquaman is the same but less so. The DCEU is just starting to get it's act together, give it like idk 10 years and maybe we can start saying that DC is competing with marvel, until then I'll just stick to the animated movies, and I'm not talking about that justice league vs teen titans type crap, I mean batman under the red hood
Sorry Korey & Martin, but I think you misread the reason for the emperor being in this movie. I'm not a big fan of JJ Abrams, but him bringing Palpatine back wasn't him trying to undo what Rian did. It was him playing damage control for Rian undoing his "The Force Awakens" plot threads first. I'm 90% certain JJ intended for Snoke to be the final villian before Rian killed him off
That's Nonsense. Rian realized the truth. Kylo is the better big bad. But JJ just needs to redeem Kylo. This movie could have had the Knights hunting the protagonist with Kylo leading. JJ creates fan fiction.
@@Dryltd You joking? Kylo got beaten by Rey not once, but twice before the third movie even rolled around. He would pose no threat as a final villain and any fight they'd have would have no suspense because we already know she's stronger.
@@CulturedDegenerate You must be joking? Luke beat the emperor by throwing away his lightsaber and letting the emperor shock him to death. Star Wars isn't about who is the most powerful. It's about trusting the Force. Snoke was boring and would never be cooler than Palpy. Kylo could have gotten better by linking up with his Knights. Of course. The dark side loses. It's Star Wars!
@@Dryltd True, it's always been more about the ideological battle & the force more than physical, but there's always been at least one physical threat present even as a secondary conflict.
For Palpatine to be Rey's grandfather he would have had to have been getting freaky at a pretty old age and I refuse to think about that. And who would have consented to have a baby with a shriveled, evil, old man? Sounds very Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to me. Rey's grandmother was none other than Bellatrix LeStrange!
@Now it's a Party I think Abrams making Palpatine Rey's grandfather was his way trying to bridge the gap between the people who loved the TLJ and the people who hated it. He was basically trying to have a middle ground between being born from nothing and being related to someone important in the Skywalker saga. I understand why he did it, I just don't think it needed to be done.
It really feels like we’re watching someone skip all the cutscenes in a game and we only get to see the in-game dialogue out of context. It’s such a mess.
The most interesting character was Finn. we've never seen a storm trooper turn away from the empire. Rian johnson, for whatever reason buried him and the potential relationship between him and Rey. My guess was the disney decided that the star wars public wasn't ready for that.
Considering the fact that Finn's the catalyst for almost everything that happens in the sequel trilogy (his defection leads to breaking Poe out of holding and crash-landing on Jakku), Disney's decision to sideline him to appease the Chinese market in the later films is the worst thing they've done with the franchise. That, and pawn off an American actress of Vietnamese descent onto said Chinese market because Disney felt it was good enough.
Also, it was refreshing to see Finn being heroic with a sister. I was tired of seeing Finn chasing after Rey, trying to save her when she didn’t need saving.
It's kinda funny. Kylo Ren had that prophetic line in Last Jedi: "Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to." And now here we are... people couldn't let Star Wars go, aka die. And now it's been killed.
No Kylo's line was self-indulgent idiocy from Rian Johnson. You can't kill the past you move forward from it which is why his film fundamentally failed to the point where it doomed this film to failure: he just burned things down instead of building upon what was there.
28:40 I gotta disagree with Korey on this. The true fans have been saying this stuff for the past two years. The Fandom Menace was born from the very concerns you brought up during the video, but when they voiced those opinions they where shouted down and abused. The constant attacking of the fans is what turned me off from watching TROS and the Mandalorian, and I grew with the OT, bought the prequels, and sat through The Force Awakens and TLJ. It was management that killed Star Wars.
@olskool71 I agree with most of what you said. A majority of the fandom where willingly to give the series a chance since TFA was just a rehash of New Hope, but after TLJ and the reaction to the fandom's critics is where people started to turn on each other. Can't really speak to the quality of the Mandalorian cause I've not seen it yet.
@olskool71 I don't see how fans ruined it. Fans are allowed to be critical and disect things. But the Prequels didn't kill SW despite varying opinions on the quality. And Revenge of the Sith was a satisfying pay off for the journey. People still bought toys and overall were spending money in droves on the franchise. Disney wanted that money. And they didn't do anything different. The renamed Rebels the Resistance. Renamed the Empire the first order. Made Luke a girl and Leia a black male Stormtrooper. And then began to spit out what they thought was Star Wars. The force is not Marvel Superpowers. It's one thing to explore an original story another to disregard the rules of the universe.
@olskool71 You don't have to make a film to have an opinion on it. This alleged "racist" and "sexist" harassment is blown out of proportion for headlines. And the unfortunate times a few idiots have taken there inability to seperate actor and character to far has nothing to do with Disney being in control or being "-ist". Poor Jake Lloyd's unsatisfactory performance in Star Wars got him bullied and has him hating the experience to this day and he's a white male. Some fans can be jerks and can't separate characters from actors and it has nothing to do with being [insert]-ist. The majority of fans with issues with the Disney Trilogy have perfectly reasonable STORY reasons. They are not all "-ist". The fact becoming a force ghost is hard and not everyone can do it, especially a half trained Jedi (Leia) is canon, the fact force ghost can't touch things or use the force breaks 6 movies of established lore and an approved canon series (Clone Wars). The fact Jedi can force push but can't freaking float is very specific and the fact these things take TIME and TRAINING is a valid criticism. The most Anakin could do with his high midiclorian count without training is podrace really well. And even after he was trained, experienced fighters with lower midiclorian counts could beat him. In fact, he lost a limb before he was anywhere near going dark. The fact Rey takes NO damage from more experienced force users is a valid criticism. I am a black female SW fan and I am always quick to jump in when there is a clear -ist in the critics convo so I can safely say most of the criticizers are not -ist. Many like Deborah Chow directing Mandolorian for example, cause she does a GOOD JOB. And they would love to see her do a film and are excited she'a doing Mandolorian episodes and the ObiWan series. These "-ist" accusations are b.s.
@olskool71 I think the Mandolorian is speaking for itself as a fan favorite on many sides, but because it doesn't have box office numbers it's fair you can say/believe otherwise. We can't really 'prove' it by any arguable metric. Movies are art and I believe all movies are art, even popcorn films. When they connect and move you to passion. That's good!!! They should!!! Art should do that! It's a cop out to assume people passionate about films and/or franchises they love don't have partners, children, and lives. They also have hobbies and interest and something like Star Wars has followings large enough to be considered a hobby and interest. People have met husbands/wives due to a shared love for this universe. No one is stopping anyone from enjoying anything just because they are talking about what they don't like as far as the direction it's going. I freaking love Frozen because I thought it took an amazing creative departure from the source material (Snow Queen). Disney usually doesn't depart like that from the sorce fairy tale. So many people hate on Frozen and I, a grown woman, will not only engage in conversation about why I like it with haters. But even if they make a point about any bad/weak point script writing I can still curl up and enjoy it the next day. That art touched me. And I can also be upset if Frozen 2 is a pointless cash grab weaker then the original. And another person can have a different freaking opinion and enjoy 1 & 2 as a 'series'. And that's OK! But franchises should DESIRE passionate fans, not be like 'it's just fiction, get a life'. Who says they don't have one? If your enjoyment is spoiled because everyone else in the world doesn't like what you like and has the nerve to be vocal about it, maybe the person who can't stand to hear a dissenting opinion is the one who needs a life.
Honestly I would have brought palpatine back in the force awakens. But as a force ghost behind the scenes, influencing Raye ONLY when she is really stressed and down. like a hint 2 or 3 times that raye "talks" to herself for advice that gets her out of the situation but not without casualty. Then at the end, instead have her loose to Kylo and have Han loose his life in the confrontation/mission to blow up SKB. Then at the very end have Palpatine force ghost say something like use this to make you stronger. End movie.
That would have been nice , heck maybe have him come to her looking like obi wan so we think it is a good force ghost but leave hints that he is talking about dark things to be revealed it is palpatine the whole time
Dark side users can’t be force ghosts lmao. Have you guys only watched the movies. It’s known in Canon sith can’t be force ghosts because they hold onto their hate and the only thing they care about is keeping themselves alive.
Honestly I was holdng out hope, Palpatine was gonna be a manifestation of the Dark Side. Like this entity would use the faces of famous Sith to talk to Kylo. And that Rey would be no one. And that Kylo would be the actual villain. Oh and I thought for sure the C3PO thing would be the 000 virus from the comics, essentially a sentient virus that turns droids evil. Then we'd lose 3PO AND the heroes would have to kill a friend. That could've been cool Ok so that and a lot more but seriously, Palatine DID NOT need to be here at all.
@@neosoontoretro if he'd been built up in TFA or TLJ I would agree, but saying he was behind this whole trilogy despite only being present here is really lazy imo. @@bbsj86Er, no not flawed because the Emperor has already been established in six movies already. And no, if the Emperor was in previous films then we wouldn't have gotten Kylo taking over the First Order in the middle of the chapter. Again, all the Emperor needed is one movie to get it right. Btw, isn't Moffat an Emmy Award winning showrunner? Also, you can't blame Abrams for rushing it when his NOT given enough time to begin with. If you want to blame someone for episode nine being rushed don't blame Abrams, or Kennedy, or Johnson, blame Disney for not pushing film back a year when they had a last minute director changed.
I gotta say, I was never a big Star Wars guy, like Transformers, I like the entertainment, but I've always found the shht repetitive. So I don't think Star Wars has changed, it's just that the audience grew up, and require more, while the creators go back to the same old well of ideas.
Thanks for saying that. We grew up. I feel like this was consistent. From star wars starting with episode 4. Many plot holes there, but being a kid ignored it. Then episode 1 phantom men. Was a teen and dealt with it. Now these as an adult. Smile because it was a long journey, and nastolgic, but boy it's flawed. It was fun, but we matured and it's okay.
I think that's an oversimplification. This movie BROKE established lore. If it was a so-so, but enjoyable film (like the prequels or the Star Wars Rebels Cartoon) I would have given it a pass as a fun movie, but it's trash and a joke as a 'sequel' trilogy.
Felipe Lovecraft Agreed 100%. All these franchises are trying to ape the MCU business model but without any of the vision, the cohesiveness, and CREATIVITY behind it. This trilogy of SW films was so rushed.
Well the original trilogy wasn't planned either. And the prequels were just a predictable. The sequel trilogy at least is something different and more competently made than the prequels.
There are many problems with this movie but the Emperor wasn’t cloned. The guy who says that line says it as a joke for the audience. It was like a conspiracy theory type answer. The movie never answers how the Emperor is still alive and only implies he knew Plagueis’s cure for death.
Please don't blame fans, it's the studio that has the option to listen to them or not. At the end of the day, THEY have the final say about what is in the movie.
Disney Exec: Hey Korey, we were recently reviewing your contract with the Marvel division. We have some things we need you to overlook in the new Star Wars. Korey: Y'all pay me for Marvel. You can't afford to pay me enough to look passed this shit.
He had Sly Moore in the prequel period and she was rumored to have had his kid in one of the comics. Apparently, someone found Palp attractive (the image though 🤮)
There so much behind the scene stuff coming out now since the movie came out. If ever there was major studio interference it’s right here. Cause if it’s true Disney made jj abrams damn near reshoot everything and they added palpetine. The actors supposedly said that they barely had scripts cause they getting rewritten all the time. While I did enjoy the movie upset at the wasted potential that some plots and characters had that got dropped after the first movie. Why did they think different directors for each movie was a good idea.
Different directors aren't the problem. The Original Trilogy had 3 different directors. But you need a cohesive story. George set story for all three OT movies, he only directed one. They needed a true show runner type person keeping story on track. Which they did not do
The Dawn of Vanlife Great point! The original trilogy (despite some minor flaws here and there) have a sense of thematic cohesion. The narrative’s so tight that it took me years to realize George Lucas only directed A New Hope; he laid the groundwork while the one, two directors that followed built on top of it, which proves you can have multiple directors at the helm and still tell ONE cohesive story.
I actually enjoyed how John Boyega played Finn. He was taken as a child and he does a lot of childish things like parts of his personality never grew up. When he escaped, it looked like he was experiencing things for first time and you can kinda see it from the moment he’s introduced.
It had a few good moments for me but overall lazy and terrible writing. I grew up with Star Wars and love it. The property deserves better than the thrown together mess this trilogy had been.
Ive been telling people this since The Force Awakens came out, and was called crazy for thinking so. TFA was a horrible Star Wars movie and this trilogy was doomed from the get go. The main issue was trying to create a trilogy from an already completed story. After the 6 episodes we have already, there is nothing more to add to it, all of the arcs were complete, good defeated evil and that's that. So they really had nowhere to go with this sequel trilogy. So the only thing left to do was give us a rehash of A New Hope but with a far weaker main character, and sub characters that added nothing to the story. You really don't feel any camaraderie between Rey, Finn and Poe. As much as they tried to make me like them, they were just unwatchable to me. Then with Kylo Ren, which I feel was a mistake giving us too much information about him during TFA, then had nowhere to go with him for the next 2 films. I just cant stress enough how much it shows that they had no road map for this awful trilogy. These feel non canon to me and will never go alongside the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy. Have fun with this Disney Star Wars crap that we got, I sure won't be enjoying them at all.

nah, TFA was a good film but you entitled to your opinion
"The main issue was trying to create a trilogy from an already completed story." Can't really agree with that.. Look at Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. At the end of Star Wars, Han and Luke were given medals as if that was was the end of the story. Then Empire Strikes Back comes out and you find out that the Empire has had the Rebellion on the run for the last two years. They could have done the same for this. For example, at the end of RoTJ, the Emperor was killed but they spent the last 30 years cleaning up the remnants of the empire. Now in The Force Awakens the remnants come back strong now that they have a new leader Kylo Ren) or they could have gone with the Yuuzhan Vong as a threat. There is plenty that could be done with the Star Wars Universe if they had put some effort into it.
First mistake was throwing out the EU. Second was inserting modern-day politics. Third was putting someone who doesn't understand the franchise in charge.
If they never made The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars (A New Hope) can easily stand pat as a stand-alone film. TESB and ROTJ added to it, and of course, was very welcomed but not necessary. Similar to The Matrix, great standalone first film, didn’t need sequels, but we got sequels anyway, even if they turned out good or not. Disney should’ve started from scratch and made something completely new without changing anything from the past 6 films. Next time, a great first standalone film could then setup for sequels to follow.
They really wanted Kylo Ren to be the new Anakin/Vader but Anakin in RotS was a far more complicated and interesting character than Kylo was the entire trilogy.
This "movie" made me look so much forward to Dune...even more than before. And that was a looooooooooot already! For I have hope that Dennis Villeneuve will treat us as adults and not as brainless kids, which this franchise did.
He wasn’t cloned in this movie. It’s explained that he used the dark side to survive death, which isn’t a better explanation but it’s not that he cloned himself to survive. He cloned snoke though
Everything you guys are complaining about? It's JJ Abrams. And it's not a bug - it's a feature. Take a closer look at everything his done before. Especially his "Star Trek" movies. He's a bad director.
And a bad writer. He uses the mind meld thing in every movie in place of story telling. He used it in Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness, TFA, and again in Rise of Skywalker. He's not good at telling stories.
Just because you have a "force strong" family doesn't give you extra skills. Rey shouldn't be able to do force lightning just because she's related to Palpatine. Anakin got his butt kicked a lot. Luke got his butt kicked a lot. They both loss limbs. Rey took zero damage. Even Ezra in the Rebels ended up with a permanent injured face due to facing more experienced force users. A high midiclorian count doesn't eliminate having to TRAIN. You don't just do force lightning by accident because your dad/granddad was a Sith.
As much as some fans don’t like StarKiller (Galen Marek), and say he’s too overpowered, at least he was trained by Vader. If you play the good ending, he dies twice, once to Vader and once to the Emperor. Despite all his skill, he still couldn’t beat the Emperor.
*THANK YOU* . My Biggest Problem with this Damned Trilogy as a whole. We see Kylo Ren freeze Blaster Bolts & a Myriad of other Powers, but at the End of the First Movie he gets beaten by someone with Zero Training.
I think you misunderstood the film, guys. The Supreme Dark Sith you see in Rise is not a clone of the Palpatine you see in the first 6 films. The opposite is the case. Palpatine from Chapters 1-6 was a clone of the Supreme Dark Sith you see in Rise. Not only that, Snoke was also a clone of the Supreme Dark Sith. When Kylo walks through his cloning chamber, you can see another Snoke Clone as well as a younger Palpatine clone in the chambers. It seems like the Supreme Dark Sith did this in order to protect himself while pushing the Dark Side through the galaxy with his clones. I think this idea was a good one, however, the movie was filled with so much video game treasure hunt nonsense, the idea was not fully developed at all. And yes, you are correct .. why would the Supreme Dark Sith not of had Rey as a clone?... Why would he have a son,.... then a grand daughter?.. so foolish. Having Rey as a clone, maybe mixed with skywalker DNA from his hand, would of been the most logical way to go since she was mentally conflicted, had no parents, and was an overpowered jedi.
@AllegedPhilo well, you have to use your creative writing skills to answer those questions since the movie didnt do a good job in character development. But the base idea is a good one. Obviously, this is just an academic discussion since the prequels were terrible and the new sequels were under written. I see what they were going for.... like I said, a few more rewrites and delays, with the right people, it could of been a much better movie. Just use your imagination, man.
As a longtime fan of Star Wars I agree with most of Korey and Martin's points (except for the no more Jedi vs Sith stuff). I'm glad the Skywalker story is over yet disappointed of how it was handled. Lucasfilm better get their shit together during their hiatus
Well, the entire premise is mildly retarded. If the light and dark sides must be in balance, the optimal solution would be to execute all potential Jedi before they learn to use the force. That way the Sith would be neutered, and even if there are some, they will be powerless, since the net "value" of the light side would be close to 0. Problem solved. Face it: Star wars is space opera and not "hard" science fiction for a good reason: Is meant to be light entertainment and little else. The main issue with this trilogy is the lazy way Disney handled the franchise and their extreme aversion for originality, even having at their disposition all SWEU lore and enough material to make good movies for a lifetime or two. Instead, they opted for doing the same ** over and over hoping that we are stupid enough to not notice. The lack of any plan and the war between the directors only made things worse, but the seeds of mediocrity were planted in TFA, and from there it was unlikely to go anywhere else but down.
the turn of Hux or the reveal of Hux to be the spy, it is very thin. You can see the reason from TFA and TLJ with the constant fight against Kylo for power of the First Order which really should have been something big as Hux & Kylo trying to gain control. To the point, his reveal or remain was very thin. That is put through with all the characters here as the development is thin and these characters are playing Star Wars types. Poe is the rogue pilot. Rey is the master Jedi. Finn is the Resistance Rebel Fighter. These are types put into their characters with familiarity
The thing is many fans and even Reylos were saying that Rey should be a "nobody", the idea that you can come from humble background and learn and grow to become somebody. The trouble with Rey is she hasnt really grown in this Disney Trilogy, she gets handed her first blaster pistol by Han Solo. She gets given the Skywalker family airloom, that lightsaber, she even gets given a X-Wing by Luke and the books she takes from the ancient Jedi Library. She never actually earns anything.
I think it is kind of funny how much crap people gave the prequels well they made the new movies and guess what you are still complaining and by the way the first three movies were not that great either
The first 3 movies were filmed in the 70s and 80s. They get a pass. The Prequels, Lucas shoulda known better. This Trilogy, Disney shoulda known better. Audiences need to expect better from Hollywood and stop accepting mediocrity as greatness.
@@GritsnBeans Funny that you don't have any metric to voice your side. Women lie, men lie, numbers don't. Stop being a diabolical hater. Rise of Skywalker was excellent and redeemed that blasphemous The Last Jedi.
JJ Abrams is pretty notorious for wanting to build big things but never tells anyone about it. Probably would have been more consistent if JJ stayed as the director. That said I really liked the movie, but I also agree with all the points you guys make as well. It's flawed, not perfect, but in the end I still had fun.
edgeyberzerker Darth Kathleen Kennedy is even more responsible than JJ. She needs to be fired and replaced with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher's daughter.
Ep 7 also lacked direction as in there were unfinished plot threads. Who is Rey? Who is Snoke? What are the Knights of Ren? Where is Luke? Nobody involved had made any final story decisions. They just threw questions out there.

@@KaylaMarie_ ep8 was supposed to answer some of those questions but Rian came in and jettison everything and Kennedy let it happen smh
edgeyberzerker For real! It’s all this suspense, all these questions that JJ seems to be incessant about, but without payoff. Instead this trilogy’s become a game of What, Who, Huh? Nothing makes sense with these new films, it’s just lazy storytelling to make a quick buck.
The only people that loved this movie are casuals who simply are not invested in this saga or even know alot about it in general. Because its a sure fact the Fandom Menace dislike it, and even the Reylos are not truly happy with The Rise of Skywalker.
I agree on everything you’ve said expect one point. Corporate is to blame. They had access to so much great expanded material they could have cherry picked but instead, they had to make their own empty shells of a universe of characters to push an agenda. Even after knowing this, we still stuck with the force awakens to see where it would go and they still couldn’t follow up. It’s not the fan’s fault at all. We tried to stay with it but corporate had no direction on where to go with this series. Disappointing.
Basically Rian Johnson said "Fuck Force Awakens and everything it set up" then JJ Abram's had to go "Fuck Last Jedi and everything it set up" which lead to Rise of Skywalker. And all of it could've been fixed if they 1) planned the goddamn trilogy together (plot twists and all) and 2) NOT GET THE FUCKING WRITER OF BATMAN V SUPERMAN AND JUSTICE LEAGUE ON BOARD
This whole thing were critics cite all of the horrible decisions within this new trilogy as being the result of directors wanting to give fans what they want, is total garbage. What fans want first and foremost is A DAMN GOOD MOVIE. Are there callbacks that we'd like to see? Yeah. Are there certain payoffs that we'd like to see? Yeah. But we'd like it all to be done in a cohesive manner that doesn't totally disregard 40+ years of lore.
And if they gave the fans what they wanted in the first place there would be no problems. I don't understand why these critics think that giving the fans what they want is a bad thing that's literally entertainment. If I go to McDonald's and ask for a cheeseburger and they gave me a sock full of sour cream. That not subverting my expectations that's just not giving me what I wanted.
@@fightingmedialounge519 he speaks for a majority of the fans right now. If he didn't this movie wouldn't be failing at the box office by Star Wars standards and most people would like the Last Jedi. This movie was a mediocre mess of a film that was forgettable and bland as a movie. But as the ending of the Saga it is horrible, its a horrible way to end the Saga. How about this question. In The Last Jedi, Snoke wanted Rey dead and for Kylo to be the one to kill her to complete his training. Now that Palpatine was revealed to be the one behind Snoke, why would he want her dead? He wants her alive here so that he could transfer his essence to her.
Oh, I was thinking about all these plot holes but decided to just stick with this movie. But a re-watch of this trilogy is going to be rough on it.
Good point i forgot about that🤔.. because i only seen TLJ once

Raiken Xion it’s messy very messy and we shouldn’t be shocked because it wasn’t planned out
I think that the character that got the most devlopment in the mess that is the last three films, was Kylo/Ben but he wasn't the focus.
Their writing is very "calculated" , their writing of The Rise of Skywalker comes from this attitude of "oh we need to get to this point because we need this mac-guffin in their, and we need to do this like that to appease this demographic of the fan base."
Its truly bad writing, at this point they deserve ALL of the fans to straight out criticize them, and then on top of that Disney's Galaxy's Edge should fail big time, just to teach them a lesson in how badly they have handled this beloved saga and it's characters.
They needed a person like Kevin Feige to plan out and oversee it.

What? Tlj actively ignores or disregards the set ups in tfa.
JJ did the exact same thing in Star Trek: Into Darkness. Was there any reason why Khan was in that movie? It's the same thing as Palpatine in Rise of Skywalker. JJ just put him in there because he's a popular villain.
KingOfMadCows
And then has him introduce himself with a flat, perfunctory " My name is Khan", without affording him the dignity of at least using his full name ( if not the much more dramatic reveal the character deserved!)

The biggest problem with the new trilogy is a lack of cohesion that result from two directors disregarding the each other's plans and ideas and just doing their own thing.
Or rather a lack of cohesion stemming from Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger whose job is to keep everything together.
@@Toukon4ever So, people are not collaborating is what you're saying.

Nobody is talking about how thirsty Finn was for Rey
It's a labyrinth of plots and plot holes which ends up making a mockery of the original Star Wars trilogy - Everyone is yelling, they zip from planet to planet searching for a "Wayfinder," a Sith compass!!!

It was fine. The best part however was the five minute prologue for Tenet.
It was ok.

Crazy how marvel did it so right and how Star Wars did it so wrong. Both are Disney franchises.

i hate how accurate this is
The Palpatine thing, Nerfing Rose after the actress was bullied , killing Leia and Ben, it just got worse over time...
That completely wasted Finn. They had him faded him into the background
Rian johnson did something actually good and cool.
Some of the worst writing I’ve seen in a theater. J.J. and Rian are the tag team from hell. Don’t know why they thought they had to bring in the Justice League writer to make this trilogy even worse...
olskool71 we know he wrote BvS, which was pure garbage. Whedon did what he could with Snyder’s mess.
I'm 90% certain JJ intended for Snoke to be the final villian before Rian killed him off
Exactly the last Jedi left nothing for this film to build off of
That's Nonsense.

We do not speak of Delphi.
Do think Emperor gives a shit about consent. He commits genocides, Slavery, General War crimes, he cares about consent even if did he pay for it.
This movie is like a video game speedrun playthrough.
Or that China was upset about interracial couples.
@@WykydJester Wow, i hadn't even thought about the chinese market. How can i hate this triology even more = @thewildjoker

@@Terminalsanity Kylo past wasn’t that terrible he just being an idiot.

I gotta disagree with Korey on this.
So what's stopping some one from making a clone army of multiple Sith?
Palpatines wife: "Where you going honey are we making babies?"
Palpatine: "I'm running down to the corner of Exogul to get a pack of Snokes!"

That could've been cool

He had Sly Moore in the prequel period and she was rumored to have had his kid in one of the comics. Apparently, someone found Palp attractive (the image though 🤮)
This channel deserves a million subs minimum.
24:27 that could have been the characters name.
"Harley Evertalkedabout"
"The main issue was trying to create a trilogy from an already completed story."
Can't really agree with that..
Revenge of the Sith was a superior film compared to this mess.
Dirk Leon yes
Easily
By far...
They really wanted Kylo Ren to be the new Anakin/Vader but Anakin in RotS was a far more complicated and interesting character than Kylo was the entire trilogy.
CinnaBonBon no he wasn’t Kylo is a much better character than emo Anakin
The crazy crackhead Finn impression was gold.
7:46 Maybe they were originally going to do that since they have deleted scenes with Matt Smith.
@@RCCarDude speaking as someone who's read and seen alot of his other work. He's actually a really good writer. Everyone has their ups and downs.
My favourite part was when Palpatine said his most famous line.
*DEW IT!*
Rian Johnson wrote JJ Abrams into a corner.
That’s all JJs fault.
JJ started this off without a full plan. He and Rian get equal credit.
Ehhh, JJ wrote himself into a corner when he decided to set up all these plot threads with no intention of paying them off.
@@jeffdaman6969 I'd say its ALL JJ, RJ and KK's fault. The 3 of them together are the ultimate downfall of the Sequel Trilogy.
This movie was given the game of thrones treatment.
Jesus ...
actually Kerri Russel's character had a funny moment with Poe at the end when he's wordlessly seeing if he can smash later and she's all nah bro
so funny that no one laughed.
Two words: Force. Nepotism.
Taj Campbell lmaoo
Carina Walker I mean, am I wrong? 😂
You guys want to know what's really crazy,is that Finn seems to disappear from the film around the last 40 minutes
@15:00 lol I come back to this.
I just rewatched The Last Jedi. I’m surprised to say after the rewatch that it was probably the best of the new series even with some problems.
No this film was way better.
@Frank Rauen plus gave us a beast of a vader scene
No, I am your grand papi...
Palpi
The Last Jedi said even a nobody on a forgotten world could be a Jedi, be powerful and a hero.
ROTS says it's all bloodlines.
Just make her a skywalker then this is just a joke
The thing is many fans and even Reylos were saying that Rey should be a "nobody", the idea that you can come from humble background and learn and grow to become somebody. The trouble with Rey is she hasnt really grown in this Disney Trilogy, she gets handed her first blaster pistol by Han Solo. She gets given the Skywalker family airloom, that lightsaber, she even gets given a X-Wing by Luke and the books she takes from the ancient Jedi Library.
She never actually earns anything.
Nah cus then that would explain how op she is in connection to the force and we can't have sense and good writing in these movies 😂
@@GritsnBeans 86% Audience rating. Star Wars fans love this film.
Star Wars fans do nothing but complain. (Myself included, LOL) Unless it was the original 3, it's crap.
@@GritsnBeans Funny that you don't have any metric to voice your side. Women lie, men lie, numbers don't. Stop being a diabolical hater. Rise of Skywalker was excellent and redeemed that blasphemous The Last Jedi.
@@tanikwish Hence why the creator George Lucas sold his Empire because of ungrateful people such as yourself. 😉
JJ Abrams is pretty notorious for wanting to build big things but never tells anyone about it. Probably would have been more consistent if JJ stayed as the director. That said I really liked the movie, but I also agree with all the points you guys make as well. It's flawed, not perfect, but in the end I still had fun.
he should have stayed or mapped it out
edgeyberzerker Darth Kathleen Kennedy is even more responsible than JJ.
“THE DEAD BEAT THEIR MEAT!!!”
All the dislikes are from the people that loved this movie.
The only people that loved this movie are casuals who simply are not invested in this saga or even know alot about it in general. Because its a sure fact the Fandom Menace dislike it, and even the Reylos are not truly happy with The Rise of Skywalker.
Hehe, that's apparently not that much
Kathleen, JJ, Johnson, & the creative team really dropped the ball off a goddamn cliff.
GojiraRising fire the bitch and replace her with Mark Hamill and Carrie's daughter
The movie didn't make 200 million during the weekend, it made 177 million lol
I agree on everything you’ve said expect one point. Corporate is to blame. They had access to so much great expanded material they could have cherry picked but instead, they had to make their own empty shells of a universe of characters to push an agenda. Even after knowing this, we still stuck with the force awakens to see where it would go and they still couldn’t follow up. It’s not the fan’s fault at all. We tried to stay with it but corporate had no direction on where to go with this series. Disappointing.
They actually did cherry pick ideas.
@@fightingmedialounge519 too bad it was the same over ripe cherries. there's a whole galaxy to explore and build
Funnily enough, Kylo Ren and Rey replicated that "grab my hand" scene.
“The emperor is somehow back.” That line in the movie, threw me for a fucking loop
Except you don't really speak for all of the fans.
The sidelining of Rose suggests what 'fans' TROS was planning to satisfy...
@@fightingmedialounge519 he speaks for a majority of the fans right now. If he didn't this movie wouldn't be failing at the box office by Star Wars standards and most people would like the Last Jedi. And Star Wars wouldn't be losing money every installment.
It's even been said there are Star Wars fans and Last Jedi fans. So if you like Last Jedi and where this Trilogy went we already know where you are but the actual fans pretty much are disgusted by this trilogy. But I guess it's because, you know, we have penises and not because we don't like bad writing.
@@JohnGalt916 well actually, it's doing relatively well financially speaking and I've heard people who have seen and liked other star wars movies say that they enjoy this movie. The point my comment wasn't to praise this movie or say that good is just point of view; just that using the term "real fans" is rather counterproductive statement when he clearly means fans who share his mindset.
Disney thought this would be a is easy money grab just that simple.
this at least has more thought into it than the terrible remakes
It’s totally stupid for Rey and Kylo to hook up it would have basically been approving domestic violence
Are we not gonna talk about how Palatine is Kylo's greatgrandfather and Rey's grandfather
also you guys didnt get the explanation. he wasn't a clone. that was just him, he just survived (like darth maul). snoke was the clone. they mentioned he was experimenting with cloning.
thats why the emperor's body was all messed up and being supported by a giant life support system.
NO, they explained Maul's survival
Korey, it is now cannon by Disney that Pal is now Anakin's father(yes they changed his origin). So that means Rey and Kylo are cousins.
Why did Disney do any of this? So fucking dumb.
This movie was a mediocre mess of a film that was forgettable and bland as a movie. But as the ending of the Saga it is horrible, its a horrible way to end the Saga. A movie that relies more on nostalgia and sticking a middle finger to Rian Johnson than relying on originality and good story telling.
did you see the same movie, the last jedi and
was possibly the worst thing i have seen.
@@davidmichaelbabin1053 I didn't say The Last Jedi wasn't the worst, but it wasn't made as the ending of the Saga, The Rise of Skywalker was. This mediocre mess of a film is not the way u end the Saga. Saying this was better than The Last Jedi (which it kinda is) isn't saying much, that's like saying Son of the Mask was better than Cats lol.
How original can you be when you first have to fix Ruin Johnson's mess? Of course its gonna rely on nostalgia when its supposed to be the ending of a saga beloved by millio ns. No fucking shit lol!
@@cheekclappa69 don't blame Rian for this, blame Disney for making a trilogy that copied what the original trilogy did. If they would have made a trilogy that differentiated itself from the original trilogy and did their own thing, u wouldn't have to worry about Johnson ruining anything lol.

The most chilling line of the movie when you think of it is when Palpatine says, "This is the final chapter of Skywalker." Cause for a movie called rise of Skywalker it eradicates what's left of the Skywalker bloodline. It's surprising how much more honest Palpatine is than the jedi
