My husband and I love your Insta pot, posts and recipes! Both he and I live with cerebral palsy. We cook from our wheelchairs. The Insta pot is a lifesaver for us easier for us to handle, then putting something heavy in the oven. This year was the first year that he and I were in charge of Christmas dinner for my elderly parents. Your Insta pot, ham and pistachio jello salad was such a hit, and a lifesaver. In the future, my husband and I hope to start a UA-cam channel called cooking with the quads, showing people with disabilities how to cook with adaptive equipment and tips and tricks so in the future, we might be referring to and tagging your recipes. Merry Christmas. Thanks so much God bless.

works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

My kitchens were always separated from the family room, and I did not like being away from the family on Christmas, so we did not have "dinner" on Christmas day. In the morning, while the boys went through their stockings, I set out trays of veggies, meats and cheeses, and assorted crackers. We also had chips and cheese (chili con queso) and little smokies in crock-pots. After the food was set out we opened presents. We grazed all day long. Early afternoon, the pies and cookies were set out. We also had sparkling cider, egg nog, and hot chocolate available.

The only suggestion I'm going to make is a to take foil folded a couple of times too use as a sling to lift the ham out easier. I love your videos. It really helps in my daily life. Whoever decided to make an electric pressure cooker was a genius. I care for my brother who is disabled. Every single time I would put my pressure cooker on he would need attending to. It didn't matter if I checked before I started. Now I can walk away. Cook and attend to his needs as well.

My 3 year old has ADHD, so this is my life safer. He loves to climb on everything, and he would climb up to the stove every time I am cooking. He doesn't feel pain like the rest of us, he burned his arm, and didn't even say anything. He fell and broke his clavicle, and he cried so bad for that, that's how I knew something was wrong with him then, but he had stopped crying by time we got to the hospital. The doctor and nurses kept saying, I don't think he broke anything because he is crying. Sure enough it was broken

@@pattijesinoski1958 oh brother. It's just a suggestion. Take it or leave it. It's my brain to cook. Maybe you could check out the water you drink, the air you breathe, the bath/shower water you use on your body daily. You talk about toxic? My mom would always make ambrosia salad for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She took oranges, grapefruits, a fresh pineapple or two, (depending on how many people were coming for dinner), and peel them. She'd remove the membranes from the citrus and cut them up over a big bowl to catch the juice. She'd then cut up the pineapple and add to the bowl. Next came halved red grapes, banana slices and shredded coconut. Sugar was added to taste, then into the fridge to masticate. A lot of love and work went into that dish, and as we girls got older, we would all sit around the table and help out. Many hands make light the work and many hearts make the task a joy.

My kids always joked that someone had to die to get these potatos. Lol! It wasn't true but the name just lent itself. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas

I think the name comes from it being a common dish brought to a after funeral meal, provided by church ladies, esp to feed those who come from a distance.

I think it means, if you feed your family these they're going to have shorter lifespans, hence lots more funerals/ funeral potatoes.

Never thought of doing a ham in the Instant Pot. Might kick it up a notch in my Duo Crisp and finish off with the air fryer!!!

The salad in our house had pistachio nuts, banana, marshmallows, maraschino cherries, walnuts, crushed pineapple, cool whip, coconut, and drained cut in half mandarin oranges. Back then was called Water Gate Salad.
My Grandfathet always made what he called Tootie Fruity Jello. You basically took different jellos. One at a time. Make them up one at a time. You later the jellos. You put different fruits and nuts in the jellos. You have to key one layer set before you make the next. He made grape, strawberry, cherry, lime, lemon, and what ever else. Now in the line and lemon he put walnuts. In the orange he put drained mandarin oranges. On top he would put a complete container of cool whip. We kids loved it. I made it for my kids. Now I make it for my grandkids. They love it.

That’s very close to the Watergate salad I just made for Christmas. I used crushed pineapple, & no bananas. It’s a great dessert to make the night before (melts the marshmallows a bit- yum!), & makes a good dip for vanilla wafer cookies or peeled sliced apples.

Love these ideas, especially the 4-minute ham! We have German beef rolls for Christmas dinner with egg noodles and green beans, and of course rolls, so these parmesan rolls may find a spot on our table. Merry Christmas to you and all your family!

I make cheesy potatoes for holidays as well but instead of the Ritz crumble, I use wavy potato chips and crush and sprinkle on top. It adds just the right amount of crunch.

We always have a pretzel salad, not strawberry, I use raspberry Jello and add in frozen triple berry blend and pour that over the cream cheese layer. The triple berry blend is made up of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. That is what my kids, even though they are grown and gone, always want for Christmas dinner!!!

What size (weight) ham did you use to fit in the Instant Pot? It looks yummy by the way.

My mom would always buy Pfeffernusse cookies, which are a German cookie. It translates to “pepper nut “. They are a spice cookie made the anise. I love them but can’t always find them in the grocery store anymore.

My wife makes something similar to your Jell-O she call’s it Watergate salad, everything was the same except they used crushed pineapple no bananas and Would use chopped walnuts and let it sit for about an hour in the fridge. That has always been a every holiday dessert.

We're having ham. My kids had to decide what they wanted to go with it. They were in a quandary over funeral potatoes or corn casserole. They decided to go with corn casserole this time. They are my two most-loved side dishes.
