I got a 370z with no crank but everything works good and no Volta drops when I hit the start button I have no clue what to look at already replaced alternator starter fusible link on battery and the clutch switch I’m lost at this point any advice
HEADS UP!! my camero had a short because when you close the hood, the hood hinge on passenger side acts like a knife, when you close the hood. The hood hinge slices through or will ground out the wires going to the PCM. It gave me a code for MAF sensor. Checked fuse, was blown. Luckily I found the problem myself. Solution: place a peice of plastic wire loom over the wires coming out of PCM to protect it from the hood hinge
I’m going through it now as we speak I have had gotten the computer the new key ignition with the two keys that came with it and I’ve gotten one of the keys made with a chip in it still no crank no start. The battery fully charged all lights come on fuel pump comes on it’s just not cranking or turning over
Hey there DaFantWay, I can feel you brother. What car are you working on ? What was the initial complain on this car ? Why was the computer replaced as well ? Hope I can help out a little
No question is a dumb question. It was sparking because the pcm didn’t have a ground, like shown in the video, the ground cable was broken. so because the case of the the module is metal, it is a conductor and when the case touch the body of the vehicle, it found a source of ground. Example, when you hook up battery cables to your battery. You see how it sparks, when you make that connection at first. That’s what’s happening here
@@OzMechanics thank you I get it the module was looking for a ground and the case being metal( conductor) that was the path to ground for the module. Thank you for the reply
I dunno much about 3.8s but have a 99' SS since 04' and i know on the ls1 cars 98's and 99's had different fuel systems like 99's have internal regulator and returnees fuel system where the 98's external regulator and a return fuel system, the line with green cap goes to evap purge valve and continue to larger intake port where the smaller port looks like coolant everyone bypasses those maybe engine or intake been swapped from different year if fuel tank is metal its a 98' or very early 99' plastic is a 99' car
@@OzMechanics Hmm? She's only 22 and addicted to huffing gas fume's! Id go in the trunk and cut a door to pump and trace the 3 lines off pump with air i cant remember exactly how the lines run think one is gas others are vent. the older style pump had 5-6 lines I modified my system like 5 years ago when i added a china choo choo i dont remember if any lines tied into the emissions, elec pump, the pvc or map sensor
Are the electrical problems causing the starter to stay engaged? I don't think I heard the starter but what is the engine burning if it's running. This is a tough one
Had the same problem with my 99 ss. I opened the harness from the ecu to the starter... and there she was. A separated wire. The break was after the area I was testing for power. Closer to the starter. Check it out
It would run like that when the fuel injector previously had been stuck open and it dumped a bunch of fuel into the oil so it will run on fumes from that for quite a while until it all evaporated out. If it hasn't been doing it too long (enough to varnish up the oil real bad) you should be able to just run it until the engine "cracks" all the gas out of it, or, to be safe, just dump all that oil and put in new, then hook back up the fuel lines (and of course figure out why the pump isn't push gas thru them).
I’m guessing it has something to do with the evap system? I’m so confused lol maybe the purge valve is stuck open allowing fuel vapors through the intake. But even than that would be a vacuum leak…. That don’t happen to Toyota’s lol
OZ you need to bring up scan data and minimize it and go to the green color scope and then bring up the bottom bar and then you can see both if you need more help let me know
On part 2 I actually found another computer on the back seat. Had 3 in total ! And the customer just told me to put the new one because they already spent the money
@@OzMechanics was going to ask that but you've already answered the question. Customer could sell the reman pcm that it probably never needed anyway, save all the hassle of programming

In the end of the video it shows the evap line off and it says it on the text as well

well then there fuel in the vacuum it must be a fuel regulator leak in the hose a vacuum
Fuel regulator was changed out by a previous shop
