There is some great stuff on youtube including this channel! Thumbs up for Keith's channel. I miss him. He is a walking automotive electrical issues encyclopaedia! It's great you remembered him doing this same type of van. I remember that video as well! Great diag and repair, Azael.
@@OzMechanics He had some many amazing fixes. Hope it saved you a bit of time recalling his video. You too are great at your job. I enjoy watching the jobs you run across. Stay safe & well!
For mine it is the connection all you have to do is go under your driver front mid... get that clamp on there good and all good. Iff not you got a problem with the module.
Excellent video Oz. One thing that I would like to point out is connecting the jumper wire directly to battery positive is risky. I would have put in between a small incandescent light or a small fuse, just for protection. What if the ABS module had an internal short. And the BCM wire shorted out and blew? I once put a 12 volt without a fuse directly to a module, and it had a short inside the module. And it melted the ground supply wire. Lesson learned. Hope my advice helps someone.
Nice diagnosis and repair! So many shops just don’t want to invest the time or do not have the knowledge to properly diagnose these issues usually they start throwing parts at it.
That is great info on finding the problem with the analyzer. One thing I learned a long time ago when you have an electrical problem is to do a thorough visual inspection. I have found numerous electrical issues because of squirrel or mice damage.
I have no communication on abs module 2006 Sierra Denali. Power and ground are good. I will check wake up light blue wire for power signal. I think there is a junction under drivers side frame rail. Great video.
The driver strut to frame harness, the kick panel ground, the braided frame straps, the battery to frame ground, are all big problems on the Chevy Express.
Since the wake up signal is a low current 12v, you can just jump power from a feed wire at the abs module thru your test light bulb instead of running that huge jumper lead. Great job and good find! 👍
LOL! I just fixed my Silverado and it was the same problem - MOUSE CHEWS! Don't forget to armor up that cable after taping it. Why does cable taste so good to field mice? They seem to go after the cam sensor wires too.
Have an older express that will just quit running when driving or all sudden after driving fine than go to start and won't until next day, have replaced fuel pump but still happens and no errors come up when scanned ,anyone have this issue, help
I'm older I can't tell you how many opportunities I've had with frayed wires. I mean people having their cars towed away to the junkyard when it was just a shorted or disconnected wire.
I've had nothing but electrical problems with all my Chevy vans from the '90s on up. Bad Fuel pumps. Rusty brake lines breaking. Ground wire shorting out. When it rained the door locks would flip up and down. My last three vehicles were suburbans Yukon and now my battery goes dead after 14 hours I've had two mechanics look at it. Whatever you do try not to switch the radio with a junkyard radio even if it's the same year because GM purposely made these radios to not work right when you swap them. I had to open the bottom of the radio and pull out a chip and I still cannot get the radio to work properly also the door chime is five times louder than it used to be so I had to open the speaker wires in the door hinge area and cut the tan wire to stop the chiming.
I’m running a ‘13 express 2500 4.8l, 175,000mi and it runs like a top but I do have random electrical problems and it tends to run a bit rich. I ran a ‘07 express until 419,000mi before a major failure and have been using it as a parts truck since I parked it

I have a 2014 Chevy Express van, I think I'll check that bundle of wires to see if it's rubbing.... BTW, after you repaired the wires, it might be wise to wrap the wires with some foam so they don't wear through again.
Having a very similar problem with my 2011 gmc savana 1500. In the same exact spot, my wires look like they’ve been chewed by rats. But none of the wires are exposed. I don’t have communication to my TCM Or fuel pump control module
While looking at the wiring diagram for this savana. In the linier communication it goes from the ebcm to fuel pump module to tcm. So if your ebcm is communicating your issue is going to be right after the ebcm. If you have a scope I would look at the data lines at the fuel pump control module
Trying to find where ground wire is from the engine to the chassis in our chevy express 2500 2016? I can see the red going to the fuse box under the drivers seat, but I can't seem to find the black ground wire.

yeah I can't do that cuz I don't have the scanner! ugh! trying to track down an electrical issue myself and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to use magic!
OZ, great stuff and awesome thought process and approach MERRY CHRISTMASS to u and family and thanks for sharing ur knowledge. cheeeeeeers from Ont, CANADA
Good Brother Oz! I am one of your many faithful subscribers. I am learning to work on my vehicles from you. Thank you for your cool professionalism! I am not sure if you can help me, but I want to ask about my 2012 Chrysler 300 Limited 3.6L. I am having over heating problems. I have changed the Thermostat; no fix. I have replaced the the oil filter housing; no fix. I am thinking it may be the water pump, but I don’t know how to test it. Do you know of a simple way to test my water pump. Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thank you again. Doug
I actually am a marine corps combat veteran as a mechanic, I went to Rosedale tech where I meet and was indoctrinated by Scanner Danner himself stopped on your vid to solve an issue I'm having with a school bus code U0140
Where are you located? I think I have the same problem. Lost communication with transmission control module, lost communication with body control module.
this is why I dislike new age vehicles. 1 wire can break and then its a dice roll that you can still start it and drive. Why cant we just go back to old cars where you just dump gas down the carb and hook up the battery to the distributor and your off
Sounds like a bad fuse box bro or the computer not working pretty much a bad fuse box a bad body control module something to do with power you hear the key start to chim it's the orange wire maybe has a fusible link
I own a van 2010 and a squirrel built a nest inside engine compartment next to trasmisión module and cut all wires was a nightmare bcz cut like 300 little wires 😵💫🥵
That damaged wiring is in a very suspicious area and looks extremely suspicious. I would say you're not the first person to be in there. Maybe you found this and then put it on video afterwards?
The difference between a great auto tech is he will do the work necessary to win the battle your knowledge and willingness to defeat the problem is what makes you one of the top contenders those other guys are just wannabes. Great job

That is true.
When I see frayed wires I am happy. Means components are likely good.
Nice diagnosis and repair! So many shops just don’t want to invest the time or do not have the knowledge to properly diagnose these issues usually they start throwing parts at it.
Thanks John. Yea, with the ongoing changes with vehicles nowadays you mechanics have to stay on top of the game. Training is key
That is great info on finding the problem with the analyzer. One thing I learned a long time ago when you have an electrical problem is to do a thorough visual inspection. I have found numerous electrical issues because of squirrel or mice damage.
Normally I see that happen in wooded areas or really cold places where mice and squirrels can bundle up and bite them wires
Good thing there going to soy wrapped wires..NOT!
Brilliant diagnosis! I appreciate the free learning experience you offered all of us!
Nice work, nice tool, as a tool junkie I have decided to get one of my own!!!
you are the man! I've never heard about a pin which enables comm (12 V) every day learn something new.... Thanks bro!!!

Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching Ray. Happy holidays as well
Great Video! Visual Inspections are often not mentioned and under utilized. Thanks again.
Thank you Keith
That looked like something was chewing on it, not rubbing on anything. Did you verify and insulate all the individual wires before taping it up?
Awesome video, I GOT A 06 CHEVY EXPRESS WITH SOME PROBLEMS TOO, THANK YOU!!!
Awesome. Hey thanks for watching Cheppetto hope you get your van fixed
