I recognize the guy doing the Contour chair commercial! He was a sports guy in Little Rock at the time (these commercials were made out of there). That was a surprise!
This was recorded off WPTZ- TV Plattsburgh NY/Burlington VT. The news and weather headlines before the actual show features meteorologist Bird Berdan, one of the station's very first employees (hired in 1954 when the station first went on the air). After retiring from his role as meteorologist in 1985, he became known to a whole new generation of local viewers as a commercial pitchman along with Rolla Parker for "PARKER CHEVROLET OLDSMOBILE PONTIAC, IN CHAMPLAIN NY!"
This was definitely a 1985 rerun because here in NYC, WOR TV did that same thing. Also, this was around the time Jim Lange was currently hosting The $100,000 Name That Tune. By January of 1986, he began hosting The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime. Also, The Newlywed Game launched a new version with Bob Eubanks returning as host and Bob Hilton announcing.
Aside from this, The Newlywed Game episode and Another World on CFCF-12, do you have more Montreal-based stuff on that tape, either in French or English? WPTZ-5 is the NBC affiliate for Burlington VT and Plattsburgh NY, covering Montreal as well.
I truly do miss the days before cellular phones.
I miss the days before back to back Pharmaceutical Commercials. 😩
Jingles were the best back then.
I sang along with the Extra gum commercial. For an extra, extra, extra long time.
I did too.😂😂

Summer 1985 rerun airdate as Siverado opened on 7/10/1985
1979.
I wonder the MC would have made fun of a black guy from the ghetto and mocked his accent like he did with the Southerner.
Want some cheese with that whiiiiiiine?
Life was better. Women were more attractive. No blue hair, bad attitude, no noise rings, no tattoes, no body parts hanging out of there clothes etc.
You say that like someone is forcing you to be attracted to them 😂
No just saying today's women can not compare to the real women back then.
Seriously,. This is what Trump is Talking about,.
Anyone who doesn't WANT wholesomeness like this is my Enemy~
