THis is from sometime in January 1986 given the February 2, 1986 "offer ends on" date at the 20 minute mark in the commercial, and the Spring SUmmer catalog from Sears in the parting gift plugs
Love the old commercials. Byrne Dairy orange juice...standing next the truck with MILK on the side. Dairy vs Orange Juice, oh, the dichotomy...no cows, only an orange grove!
Yeah, including parents who are members of the KKK and ISIS. Being a parent doesn't make you a good person. Remember: Thinking in general is very important before forming a sentence.
My friends Jane and Robert were on the show in 84 I'm trying to find that one but anyways they said they came in second place and all they got was a bottle of Paul Newman's salad dressing
They don’t take the actual prize(s) home; they either get vouchers for local suppliers, or the prize is shipped, depending on what it is. And contestants send in their interest in being on the show; some shows just draw randomly, but most have a short screening to be sure they’re at least coherent and personable enough to appear!
@@Volkslady For cars, on most game shows, a player got a voucher for the value of the car, to be used at a local dealer somewhere near where the winner lives.(if you won a Chevy Chevette, given the time frame of the Newlywed episode seen here, you could use the voucher toward purchasing, say, a Camaro) Newlywed Game didn't give away cars, however. They did give away camper trailers on Newlywed and it could have worked the same way for those. A lot of the smaller prizes would have been sent to the players' home address. For trips, you have normally six months to a year of the airdate of the episodes to take the trips, although that is being pushed up two years these days due to COVID19. Players can and have forfeited prizes to avoid paying taxes on them.
This game show was aired on WETM-TV (channel 18) in Elmira, NY which is in the lower central section of New York south toward the Pennsylvania border. WNBC-TV (channel 4) in NYC also aired this show at 7:30PM.
I wish they would bring a new version of the newlyweds in our time now. I used to love watching that show seems like I watched it for years. I miss that show really it was just fun to watch. It was interesting to see how much the couples really knew about each other some were so compatible. Wondering what Bob Eubanks is doing these days.
The trash they have on TV now is just that, Trash. These were the good old days with humor and respect to all. Wish we could go back to the simpler times..Lucky we were fortunate to live through these wonderful times...
I always knew I was this lil grl before practice cus I just knew that he song in - beloved and y I bought not a but that very same jar with Dig T Marks just last wk
Willie and Baraka looked like they were a wild and fun couple (While not the sharpest tools in the shed. But it was often the case on that show)! .... And the orange juice ad (Byrne Dairy) had me laughing! PS: The girl in the blue shirt seemed like a huge pain in the a*s!
And I sure hope the winners redeemed that Sears gift certificate. Sears is history, just like this show. But I get stoned and watch it at age 67 cause I've lived it!! 41 years of marriage.

If they did they wouldn’t answer like they do sometimes.

My friends Jane and Robert were on the show in 84 I'm trying to find that one but anyways they said they came in second place and all they got was a bottle of Paul Newman's salad dressing
Makes you wonder how the contestants were picked to appear on the show and the qualifications. And how did they get their gifts home?
