Embed lut option does not burnin the lut into video: it stays slog3, it is just allow catalyst browse to know whic lut you use in camera to see the footage in camera so you could easily applied same lut in post if desired, nothing else
Recently got an a6700 and this by far has been the best settings tutorial I’ve seen yet! Wish I saw this day 1! Thanks for the help nonetheless, I took a lot of best practices from it!
When in Dec 2017 I bought the a6300, I was completely new to Mirrorless digital cameras and i had to search for a tutorial video that would explain as much as possible all the video set up. After watching many i found Maarteen Heilbron "Best video setting for the Sony a6300" . I didn't just watch the video I studied it. And than for months and year to come i would go back and refresh my memory anytime i need it. When i upgraded to the a6400 (I kept the 6300 ) changes were not manies i didnt need one vidro in particular. But now find myself back to the same position as 7 years ago. Although i am more familiar with video recording and Sony cameras, the a6700 is a big upgrade and has a lot of new features and changes in the menu. And among all the videos i watched, I think yours it will be the one i will study and practice and get back anytime I will not remember something. Ps But I have to slow down the speed at 0.75 😅... It's a great video for me to learn. Thank you.
Going through it like a drill Sergeant but man, good stuff. Really like your style. I picked up a lot of good info. Especially the way you set up your function menu. I'm going to give that a try for sure!
Please help. First I think your presentation is excellent. I do need your assistance. I followed the link to get the conversion LUT and I've been on that page several times. For the life of me I can't find a place to download a conversion LUT for the a6700. Can you point out where it is on that page? Thanks. Happy Holidays.
For reference, XAVC S-I only really matters if there is fast motion in your scene. Instead of interpolating in the codec between frames, S-I compresses each frame independently. It's also easier to work with in editing later as you can key off any frame without worrying about interpolation. The primary downside to using it is files at 240M 4:2:2 10-bit are 250% bigger than at 100M 4:2:2 10-bit and require a V90 SD card which are quite a bit more expensive than V60 which support 100M just fine.
Currently using the zv e10. Thinking of changing to this as an upgrade. All my lanses are apsc, makes more sense right now than going with full frame. Great review. thank you
There‘s 2 modes PAL and NTSC, you‘re in PAL right now. You‘ll need to go in the Setup tab and in 1 Area/Date you should see NTSC/PAL selector. Change to ntsc (but first format your sd card) and them you‘ll have 24,30,60,120
Hey Sean! Great video! Any recommendations on an SD card that doesn't break the bank for the a6700? We mainly will be using it for music videos and green screen work at 4k 60fps (we do a lot of slow motion). Thank you!
Hey Sean one other ? We purchased the Sony a6700 finally with the 16-50mm lens and will be doing green screen work with it. Wanted to ask you what color profile you recommend? We have it set at cineform right now. We have our aperture at 4.5, shutter at 1/125 iso at 800 - Let us know if you can or any recommendations for green screening, thank you Sean!
As I understand HS main benefit is smaller file sizes compared to S BUT you recommend using the highest file size so it end up being the same size as S but with higher hw requirements to handle that kind of files, why?
Added LUTs and setup the 6700 just like you said. When I set a user lut (709) the screen/EVF doesnt change. Just shows slog3 image no matter what LUT I choose. Also, the phone wont let me import all LUTs....'file can not be loaded' 😟
When opening the SD card on my Mac, I do not see an auto generated folder called “PRO”, is there a setting on my camera I’m missing to enable that folder to appear so I can place the LUT file into? Tried making my own but didn’t seem to work when pulling up the imports on camera. Thanks!
does a6700 low light really worse compared to a7iv? i want everything to be MUCH better then my phone which is f1.7.... but most apsc lenses will 1.5x so its all 3+ f stop if im using a zoom lens :(
i am totally new and first time i bought a camera a6700. i wish u had started video from switch on button where it says. connect with your mobile for settings. and first time user like me. don't know how to move forward from step 1. and u already started probably from step 3. therefor leaving video without watching even for 1 min
This is the most perfect review of the a6700 by far! Thank you mate
Thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate your support.
Holy crap. The value that you are providing here is next leve!
Thanks!
Thank you for this, that was really cool of you to do 🤙
@@seandewispelaere Thank YOU! Been looking for straightforward info and the pace and order that you share is sooo helpful.
Glad it landed for you 💯
This camera is giving me fits. Good stuff I need to learn it

explain
so there's literally no point of having that option?
Thank you for the note, my mistake
I haven't tested this, but I assume that the embedded LUT offers a faster turnaround to convert to rec709 when the software recognizes the lut used
Thank you

That anti-flicker FPS tip was veryh helpful! Thanks!

The expand spot can be set to move mode by pressing the wheel button so you can toggle between move/set with it
MAAAAAN I so happy I found your video Oh so very help.....I've now subbed

So helpful. Thanks!
So awesome. Now I just have to practice practice practice until I get all of this burned into muscle memory. Thanks!
Excellent video. 👍👍
The best video for newbies like me
this review was just perfect
man i love your videos keep up work work juste love it
Made my day - thank you
Hard to believe only 18K subs, thanks for some great info.
Do you know which has less low light HLG grain at F1/4, 4k60fps 2500iso or 4K 24fps 800iso?
Thanks so much, means a lot to me. I think it’s more about the exposure and the edit there as opposed to the lens. Anything 1.4 or 1.8 should help?
Waiting for upcoming video abou A6700
Coming very soon 💯
If you could have 1 lens to pair with the a6700 for cinematic videos. What would that be? Thank
Probably the Tamron 17-70 2.8
ty sir!! a lot of knowledge :D
Boom
quick question capt. does the zve-10 have the same features to achive 1/48 shutter speed? 2:33
I don’t believe it does, unfortunately
Thanks
No problem
Great video
Much appreciated and always appreciate seeing ya in the comments
Really informative!
Thanks - happy to hear that it landed well for you
I have an A6700, but i don’t see the 24fps as frame rate for any codec. Just 25, 50, and others… not sure why not 24

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. You'll need a v90 and I'd say that this one is the best value that I've come across: amzn.to/3HupBw5
Hello! I have a question, when I switch camera mode to one of three fast modes, I can't change shutter or aperture, any idea how to change this?
Yea you’ll need to be in “manual” under “shoot mode”

I wonder why you dont have listed in picture profile menu P7,P8,P9? I dont have those in my a6700 either
What sd card are you using? Do I have to buy a v90 or is v30 enough??
I use these ones and love them:

Thank you 🫶🏻
Does some know what is the upper and lower base iso for s-cinetone on the A6700? Thanks

Format your SD card in the camera first. Then that path will show up

I'll do a low light guide video for the a6700 on the channel soon, but in short, the a7iv will perform better in low light
@@seandewispelaere thanks
How can I enable the 24/60/120 option for XAVC HS 4K?
You probably have to change PAL to NTSC in the region settings
Really glad i paid a university the equivalent of 3 cinema cameras with a lens kit for the same education

Iam using A6700. But where is AF transition speed. It not showing there....anyone knows
Giga chad
вы очень быстро говорите и непонятно какой пункт ставите
UR SO FAST
Hmm u didn't show the differnt codecs during the stupid audio commercial...really wierd bro..
Dude slow it down next time.
Your video appears to have great information. However, I gave listen because your speech patterns were far to fast to follow.
Thank you for sharing!
You got it
