The 3 series was always one of my favourite cars. Just iconic. All around this new 3 series is very beautiful. Love that they cleaned up the middle dash because before it was just too cluttered though they obviously tried to stay true to the BMW tradition.

Finally, I have been waiting for this. Not the car, but the Autogefühl review of the car. Quick and detailed as always. BMW cars look so much better when they don't put GIANT kidney grills in the front. This 3 series is an absolute knockout in terms of design. Good job, BMW.

This is the best looking BMW in over a decade (at the very least). Glad to see them start to get back on track. Also hearing that they're leaning more sporty than luxury now, which is also great to hear.
A great initial review of the new BMW 3er. It seems that BMW have aesthetically improved the interior bringing it more in line with Audi and Mercedes-Benz including incorporating a new and seemingly controversial electronic hand brake. I love electronic handbrakes and have had them in all my cars for the past 8 years. This is a different direction for BMW.
Awesome exhibiting of the new 3 Series guys! In my view, it is such a superior overall package to the C class and A4. Great, sensible design and changes made by BMW. Wish I will afford a proper specced one someday!

I like the new BMWs' dashboard layout! Simple and elegant, with only the essential buttons of the climate control, radio shortcuts/memory programmable buttons and, most importantly, the volume knob on it! The iDrive 7.0 having a touch screen is really helpful! You can put many functions in the screen and get rid of many buttons to make an interior simpler! The F30's dash looked somewhat of a half done job and a bit too square and its details (mainly the black square air vents) looked a bit boring! On the outside, I like the front end! It looks really sharp! The profile is a bit spiced up compared to the F30 and the rear end is also a nice job! The M-Sport package is the one for me! It looks great and, also, I like the classic M steering wheel more than the standard BMW one!

It seems they really looked at Lexus to compete with them in certain market where Lexus is doing well. The bodykit at the front makes me think of Lexus as well.

About the new design though, I think it's fine overall,but I can't help seeing a Lexus whenever I look at those L shaped taillights. It feels like they really didn't put that much effort into designing the rear fascia as much as they did for the rest of the car.

TP I have. It’s great! Only regret is I didn’t get the Sensatec dashboard covering. An oversight. But it’s so quiet and refined compared to my 2015 320d. Performance is plenty enough for me. And the M Sport Suspension is surprisingly good and comfortable with great handling.

Miles better looking than the outgoing model, inside and out. The way the front bumper cuts through the headlights reminds me of the new 3008 and the taillights have a tinge of Lexus IS.

Why do you say that it’s an cd-changer built in?? The buttons 1-8 are personal fast buttons that’s you can program to any function in the car. I use it for calling my girlfriend, one for navigation home and one for going in to the menu of sound settings.
I’m actually really impressed. I wanted a TRD pro 4 runner , but before wanted a compact luxury sedan. But nothing really engaged me in the segment , I honestly didn’t think I would be into the design language of the new 3. But I’m impressed.
great overview. im not a fan of this new 3er tho. i loved the rear lights on F30. they had a really nice shape to them. these ones look bland, they remind me of Lexus for some reason. oh and the door handles are a real eye soar. the oval cutouts seem huge. it looks really weird to me. the kidney grills are pretty huge too. just like on the 7 and 5 series. i didnt like those ones either. to me it makes the car too nosey. interior would look nice with the analog dials. so yea , overall not a huge fan . i much prefer the F30 to this

Mhm, I thought the new one was supposed to be revolutionary in design ? I can't see any big difference to the old one. It also doesn't look "newer" or more modern than it's 2012 released predecessor, only different and just like any other BMW in the last 8 years, inside out ... It's about time BMW comes up with some new ideas in design, because there is nothing really new about the latest 3 series, that surprises you or that you didn't expect to see already 2 years ago ...On the pro side I have to say, that the quality of the interior materials seem to have improved and that BMW doesn't follow the high tech overkill like Audi for instance and still keeps manual buttons and the twisting knob in the centre.
You are so right. The last BMW 3 series looked all Like Facelifts. This one isnt even better. The Problem is, that BMW dont want to Invest a Lot of Money. The 3 series needs a new Base. That would be a Revolution. So its boring .
You could say the same thing for the Audi A4, and to some extent the Mercedes C class. They are always gradual steps. Most people get put off by excessively radical changes (remember how much uproar the E60 and E65 caused?) they can't really afford to take big risks with their best selling 3-Series. Thats the same reason why VW never change the design of the Golf...to much riding on that model to risk alienating existing customers.

Well I'll agree the tech is disappointing. It has the same engines as the old one. Albeit with more screens and techy things in the interior, hardly radical. I expected they'd be offering a proper electric version by now or at least a very impressive hybrid model, but not, same old same old. Even Volvo and Jaguar are ahead of BMW in that respect. But like I say, if something sells so well then there is little incentive for them to change it much until sales start to decline, which has not happened.

As an f30 owner, the headlights are comical. The day time running lights keep getting smaller and smaller. Why? I have the non-LCI f30 and my car has the full angel day time running lights. It is a perfect halo. 4 years AFTER my purchase, BMW decides to charge more for an even smaller headlight...I mean come on BMW. This is not innovation. Those half headlights are just awful. Even worse than Audi A4's basic headlights. Please stop doing this. Nobody wants this. With those headlights, I will never buy another BMW. I'm perfectly ok driving my f30 for more years and then switch to another brand that doesn't ridicule its customers like this. I like the car overall but I hate how BMW is trying to cut off its customers from the brand heritage. Those angels were the reason why we got into this thing. You are now turning into Audi and perhaps even worse, something like a Lexus or Nissan.
They look fresh and modern? Look at the headlights of the facelifted VW Golf and tell me that they are different than this. If I wanted to drive a VW Golf, I would've gone to VW. I have been driving BMWs for a long time. I had an e46 and an e90 3 series. I have bought 3, F30s in the last 6 years and me and my wife, we still drive 2 of them. Even prior to these, my father had the e39 5 series and the e38 7 series. I am not stranger to this brand. I have been one of its loyal customers. However, this car looks like it was manufactured by Audi and badged at the BMW plant. BMW is really pushing its real and loyal customers just to attract a few hipsters.

I crashed already with 220 Kmh with 535d but I was not the guilty driver.I hit a car from back and my car became a scrap so I was waiting for the new 5 series to get but I didnt like it.I decided to wait for G20 3 series but the same feeling again.I think new Audi a6 or Volvo s90 deserve a chance.You are right.

the little upward curving character line by the rear fender is very reminiscent of the lexus is too. c'est la vie.

It is a perfect halo. 4 years AFTER my purchase, BMW decides to charge more for an even smaller headlight...I mean come on BMW. This is not innovation. Those half headlights are just awful. Even worse than Audi A4's basic headlights. Please stop doing this. Nobody wants this. With those headlights, I will never buy another BMW. I'm perfectly ok driving my f30 for more years and then switch to another brand that doesn't ridicule its customers like this. I like the car overall but I hate how BMW is trying to cut off its customers from the brand heritage. Those angels were the reason why we got into this thing. You are now turning into Audi and perhaps even worse, something like a Lexus or Nissan.

They look fresh and modern? Look at the headlights of the facelifted VW Golf and tell me that they are different than this. If I wanted to drive a VW Golf, I would've gone to VW. I have been driving BMWs for a long time. I had an e46 and an e90 3 series. I have bought 3, F30s in the last 6 years and me and my wife, we still drive 2 of them. Even prior to these, my father had the e39 5 series and the e38 7 series. I am not stranger to this brand. I have been one of its loyal customers. However, this car looks like it was manufactured by Audi and badged at the BMW plant. BMW is really pushing its real and loyal customers just to attract a few hipsters.

Of BMW’s doesn’t mean they need to satisfy only you. They are going for a clean modern design. Lots of cars borrow from each other designs. I think it looks fresh and cool. I have only owned th e90 I still have it. But I’m going to buy this one. Looks awesome

Bmw's new design language absolutely is a shit.A bit from Audi , a bit from Lexus,a bit from Peguout (interior).That car does not make me feel that is a Bmw.Especially they corrupted the most important Bmw charecters which are Bmw angel leds , front grill .back L stop lamb design . Also muscular looking went down.I have been fan of Bmw since 7 years old but the new 5 series and this one pushed me away for being a Bmw fan.Bmw does not need to be seen heavy like business car.Bmw just needs to be agressive or beatiful.I think ,Japanese designers inside Bmw group broke Bmw rules.Bmw should turn Pininfarnia design language.Agresive ,beatiful and futuristic.

I crashed already with 220 Kmh with 535d but I was not the guilty driver.I hit a car from back and my car became a scrap so I was waiting for the new 5 series to get but I didnt like it.I decided to wait for G20 3 series but the same feeling again.I think new Audi a6 or Volvo s90 deserve a chance.You are right.
The tail lights look like the "new" Audi's design from a couple years back.
