The grill opening and closing also works when you turn the car on and off. When the car is turned on it will stay closed so the engine reaches the correct temperature faster. When shutting down the car it will keep the grills opened up just until the engine has cooled down, and then close the grills ;) Also, the Eco Pro mode is better than people think, it actually improves you're miles/gallon depending on the routes you take..
All manufacturers are making cars bigger. People are eating alot of gmo food these days so we are getting way bigger than an average person was 50 years ago. Plus the last gen bmw F30 had horrible back seat room for grown up person, so a little more space isnt that bad.

That's what I loved about Mercedes gauges. They always changed them as the years went on. My favorite one was the W220 "floating" gauges. I feel they had to change them to match the new cars. BMW, on the other hand, didn't change their clusters for the last 30 years.@@akshaykaylaser9609

90% of the tech on this car is useless. If you need a camera to help reversing out of a parking spot, you probably shouldn't have a car in the first place.
If you scratch your car while move into the parking spot, simply press the button, BMW will guarantee you scratch your car twice exactly at the same fender.
Ever owned one? Had an E53 X5 and sold it at 220,000 km (135,000 mi) and it had no issues. Now I’m in an E91 3 Series and it’s coming up on 170,000 km (105,000 mi) and it’s as good as new.
😆 No one's forcing you to use them... no need to be so defiantly proud of the fact that you don't use an *optional* feature that is meant to help make driving safer for those that *do* feel like they need it.

He is comparing this to overall technologies like the big daddy 7 series, S class, A8 etc. Those are cars that boast some amazing packages and can drive themselves, so you cant really put a 3 series next to that. It has cool tech but not S class like cool.

Why? Easier to egress and you can stuff more ....well, stuff. For us, an SUV makes sense. I also have a GTI (manual) as a fun daily. As for BMW, with no manual transmission available, might as well buy an SUV.

compact SUVs are real nice compromises. Macan Turbo, X3 M, GLC AMG are highly attractive (IMO) cars that I can also drive to the mountains on the weekends to do snow sports/hike. It carries considerably more stuff, better ground clearance, and better visibility. It makes a lot of sense for people who cannot afford to own two cars. Nothing sad about it is just reality. I own a sedan myself and I envy SUVs owners because of its functionality. Not like my e350 going to be beating anything anytime soon.

Doug, as a car enthusiast and BMW 3 series lover I would expect that you know, that since the e90 and f30 has the toolkit not longer in the trunk and that it contains a hook for towing and a screwdriver only. That little plastic cover in the trunk is covering the fixing of the warning triangle, which is mandatory e. g. in Germany, but not in the US. Seems the German car builder is saving costs and provides you with that lovely plastic cover only :-)
At least it is in a quick BMW. I had a 2017 Renault Megane 1.6 Diesel that had fake engine sounds of a Sports car when in Sport mode. It was ridiculous.

Doug did not mention the optional lane departure warning technology, I drove this car as a loaner and the lane departure warning is no longer just a warning - it actually steers the car back in lane if it detects that the car is drifting off.

There is going to be an M3 “PURE” which will have 3.0 450 hp engine with 100% rwd and a manual. (Normal m3 will be about 480 hp and competition 500+ hp and both will feature awd as standard)

I have had my 21 330i for a little over a year now and am very happy with it. My gripe however is with the gauge cluster. Def needs to be more customizable
they were making electric vehicles even before 3 series came out, first one being 1602E, they just didn't sell it, they still don't think world is ready for fully electric cars, this new 3 series will come in hybrid drivetrain tho

Aryan sharma Lexus IS 250 is not a sport car, so it was not performance oriented. I believe IS 350 is much faster and better if you were looking for something sporty. IS has quite short wheelbase in comparison with other Lexus model so that might be the case of it being rigid.
One other thing with the grille closing automatically is that it also works well as a cover during winter so the engine warms quicker and doesn't ruin the cars lines like the regular grille winter covers.

In USA at least, there are hardly any of those old track car washes left anyway. Now it's all a robot arm that runs around the car spraying crap. And BTW, if you take you car to the car wash in the USA be aware that most of them recycle the water, which means your car is being washed with the road salt / toxic de-icer water they just sprayed off the guy in front of you's car. So expect to see just as much corrosion as if you didn't wash it.

Hell even the manual car wash's soap scrubber is often full of grit that leaves a bunch of minuscule scratches. That was fixed early 2015 on the N engines, they all have been replaced by redesigned B48 B58... engines, and that oil leak was only affecting 5%

A car with tons of camera angles which can remember the path and then reverse itself gets an "8" on Technology? I think this is more than enough for a 9 or even a 10.
Donnie yeah but those are pretty much gimmicks. He is comparing this to overall technologies like the big daddy 7 series, S class, A8 etc. Those are cars that boast some amazing packages and can drive themselves, so you cant really put a 3 series next to that. It has cool tech but not S class like cool.
It doesn't even have Android, and to keep ApplePlay going, you have to shell out obscene money monthly.

Why? Easier to egress and you can stuff more ....well, stuff. For us, an SUV makes sense. I also have a GTI (manual) as a fun daily. As for BMW, with no manual transmission available, might as well buy an SUV.

compact SUVs are real nice compromises. Macan Turbo, X3 M, GLC AMG are highly attractive (IMO) cars that I can also drive to the mountains on the weekends to do snow sports/hike. It carries considerably more stuff, better ground clearance, and better visibility. It makes a lot of sense for people who cannot afford to own two cars. Nothing sad about it is just reality. I own a sedan myself and I envy SUVs owners because of its functionality. Not like my e350 going to be beating anything anytime soon.
I feel so sad for people who prefer SUVs or sedans over station wagons. Just... why???

Doug, as a car enthusiast and BMW 3 series lover I would expect that you know, that since the e90 and f30 has the toolkit not longer in the trunk and that it contains a hook for towing and a screwdriver only. That little plastic cover in the trunk is covering the fixing of the warning triangle, which is mandatory e. g. in Germany, but not in the US. Seems the German car builder is saving costs and provides you with that lovely plastic cover only :-)

At least it is in a quick BMW. I had a 2017 Renault Megane 1.6 Diesel that had fake engine sounds of a Sports car when in Sport mode. It was ridiculous.

Doug did not mention the optional lane departure warning technology, I drove this car as a loaner and the lane departure warning is no longer just a warning - it actually steers the car back in lane if it detects that the car is drifting off.

Aryan sharma Lexus IS 250 is not a sport car, so it was not performance oriented. I believe IS 350 is much faster and better if you were looking for something sporty. IS has quite short wheelbase in comparison with other Lexus model so that might be the case of it being rigid.
One other thing with the grille closing automatically is that it also works well as a cover during winter so the engine warms quicker and doesn't ruin the cars lines like the regular grille winter covers.
I love that modern cars are smarter than their drivers; I can finally take my old e30 out and not worry about idiots (as much).

If you can't get into a car wash, you probably shouldn't get into a car.
In USA at least, there are hardly any of those old track car washes left anyway. Now it's all a robot arm that runs around the car spraying crap. And BTW, if you take you car to the car wash in the USA be aware that most of them recycle the water, which means your car is being washed with the road salt / toxic de-icer water they just sprayed off the guy in front of you's car. So expect to see just as much corrosion as if you didn't wash it.

Hell even the manual car wash's soap scrubber is often full of grit that leaves a bunch of minuscule scratches. That said, as much as I love my cars, I ain't got time to go through the detailing process every time I want it to look clean.
