3.4L Swapped Porsche Boxster - One Take

- Опубліковано 10 лют 2025
- The Boxster has always been a phenomenal handling car, but didn't always come with the power to back it up. This 1998 Boxster may have left the factory with just 200 HP from its 2.5L engine, but owner Bill has saved it, with the help of a 320 HP, 3.4L engine from the 996 Carrera.
Check out Bill's Boxster (and other Porsches) on his WheelWell page!
www.wheelwell....
Hey Matt!! It's Bill from the Video. Just want to thank you again for taking the time to interview me and drive my car. I had a blast and it was great to meet you! As most people can tell... I was just a "little" excited :^) I have been watching Matt's videos for a long time so it was very cool to have this opportunity. Thanks for all the kind words in the comments section. I really appreciate them! Hope to see you again soon Matt and do another car review!! As far as the Simon Cowell comments go... my wife has officially ditched all my v-neck shirts LOL!!
qikqbn77 Email me. Let's get that Cayman on the schedule.
qikqbn77 Heya , Bill. Good to see someone with one of these cars that's actually a car guy. More interested in what the car does and how it does it than just the brand name. You obviously know about your car rather than just some guy that tells everyone he has a Porsche and then just repeats the damn brochure lol.
Thanks for sharing your car with us, man.
qikqbn77 Thanks Bill. Great review. Looking forward to the Cayman.
qikqbn77 I just wanna see some DSM's on here!
aanathan0 Hi.... it's Bill. on my WheelWell "wall" I posted a link to my car projects website which I still have a page dedicated to my 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse... check it out ;^)
What a genuine guy. It's so nice to see such a consistently enthusiastic bunch of people in these one takes Matt, really showcases some of the overlooked parts of car culture.
I was going to say the same thing.
Mac Daddy car culture is usally plauged by the ricers
+100vasiliy lol i think you mean people like you
The swapped 986 Boxster is almost incidental to this one-take. The real star of this show is Bill, no doubt about it. You can hear the passion he has for cars in his voice and he's definitely an open-minded kind of guy - moving from tuned DSMs to Porsches, while appreciating the merits of both, makes for a genuine car enthusiast. He's articulate, too.
Would sure want to see more of him riding shotgun. Cheers!
TypeVertigo Truth.
TypeVertigo Great to see a guy represent the DSM community so positively. It seems these days that's a rarity unfortunately.
Dude was so excited to be there, love it.
Boxsters have such a timeless design, some ppl try to knock it because it’s so affordable, but driving in that thing makes life a whole lot more fun and romantic.
I really like Bills Boxster. He basically built himself a homebrewed Boxster R.
I think Porsche purposely toned down the Boxster and even more so the Cayman by fear of diminishing the 911.
Bill is a great example of a car enthusiast. I could listen to him tell story about his cars for a while. Not going to address the Matt cutting him off a certain points thing because I already read his comment and I understand fully. But man, Bill is a great guy. Would love to see him on the show again in the future.
***** I'm sorry, this is a character flaw of mine, I cant help it, Im gonna be " that guy"
By saying you're not going to address that issue, you actually just did ;)
Anyway, Im just messin with ya, man , have a good one lol.
***** Except this guy seems cool and Cowell seems like a douche and if he could talk about his cars the same way Bill does, I'd be very surprised.
I have an 03 Boxster S (3.2) swapped with an 03 M96 3.6 and I love the torque and power difference. I live at 7500' in Colorado so am probably only making 300HP--still plenty for the mountains. These cars are totally unappreciated as serious drivers cars. Now I just need to get the same header set-up. I am stock due to emissions laws. Very nicely done, Bill. (With 4 Porsches, I'm guessing he's single!)
Bill is a cool car guy.
Agreed. I like bill
Bill built a cool car. I hope to see Bill again.
Just here to leave another comment using Bill's name.
***** Build with Bill
GT7786 Bill is love
I always secretly liked the Boxster, very nice build this one also
Sidenote: I think you (unconsciously) interrupted Bill several times, its nice to hear an excited car guy talking. I know you didn't do it on purpose, just sayin'
Gonçalo Ferreira He does it to everyone. I think its to try and keep the video structured a bit and not go on a tangents non stop. But yeah, a bit more rambling would be nice. The videos are good though, and its hard to know what makes it or breaks it!
Benedocta don't get me wrong, I love these vids, the concept is great and simple, its nice to see a bit of the whole spectrum of a never ending car enthusiasts community.
I know Matt doesn't do it with bad intensions, I bet he doesn't even notices it, it was just to point it out
Gonçalo Ferreira A lot of times its something people do without realizing it, I know I do. But atleast with these videos it helps keep down on the rambling and focus on the car at times.
But at the same time if matt's like me he knows he does it but at the same time doesnt realize it.
Matthew Broderick when you realize its too late to bring it up again lol I understand, I'm not taking shots
Gonçalo Ferreira Yeah its just something that happens when I'm trying to guide the conversation and not get too deep into random stories and such. In this case, Bill was actually worried about over-rambling, so he asked me to stop him at certain points lol. Happens. Bill is a great guy, very enthusiastic. and I'd love to have him back to try some of his other cars.
im loving the variation of cars your covering in these one takes , great work matt , im enjoying it a lot !!
This guy, more than some of the other guys, is so much better to listen to and to the guy who said he could listen to him talk about his cars for a while got it spot on for me as well. You're an awesome guy Bill! Enjoyed the review and thank you Matt for showing this guys car. Wish I could drive a Porsche 6 speed. Hopefully one day!
Mike Halpert Thanks Mike!! Appreciate the nice comment! Bill
qikqbn77 no problem! Would love to drive it
+Mike Halpert Just be prepared... driving a Porsche for the 1st time it is like taking the red pill. You will never look at cars the same ;^) haha...
qikqbn77 I will probably agree with you haha
Agree. Drove a rented Boxter 986, non-S, less power than my S2000 and still ended up knowing I will own a Porsche one day
Gotta love high mileage cars who take care of their machine. I love this kind of enthusiasm for their car.
Very nice One Take as always, Matt. You lightened up my lunch break.
Its good to see such enthusiastic car people around the world!
Greetings from Munich, Germany.
Keep it up!
I love these one takes because it gives me project ideas. I love to See Matt mixing with people and learning and teaching the audience.
As a motorcyclist my heart dropped when you pulled out after the B7. I know it wasnt on purpose but that poor biker probably shit his pants. lol.
Bill was great. I loved his enthusiasm.
I always skipped this episode after reading 'boxster' - but this is one of the best one takes yet. Bill certainly did the right thing at the right time with that conversion.
Love these One Take videos, it's very nice to see how different people modify their cars.
One of the more enthusiastic and animated owners you've had on. It made for an awesome one take!
I'm so glad you went back and did all of Bill's Porsches.
I'm just loving these one takes. The reason is that like a like a lot of "car guys" I spend a lot of time online looking, reading and imagining what it would be like to drive and own various cars. These videos are a little taster of all that :)
What a cool dude... I can totally see spending countless ours in between driving sessions just geeking out about Porsches and cars with this fella!
I have a Boxster and I am also a biker and it looked so dangerous when that biker who was obviously speeding at 11:50 came round the bend. Please drop your window in these (can't see much) circumstances guys. He may be speeding but no one deserves an early death. Loved the video BTW :)
Liked this vid just for Matt letting the bikers buy safely, good on you Matt, much respect. The car is nice too :D
THESE FUCKING ONE TAKES KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!!!!
i just love these videos, to see the people behind the cars and see matt driving them and explaining how they feel on the street is so good. These one take videos are one of my all time favorite car related videos on youtube. Thank you Thesmokingtire for making these vids!!
from 200hp to 300hp is a 50% gain ;) (+100 / base 200)
When Bill is on TheSmokingTire, it's a must watch. Awesome guy, VERY watchable.
Never thought much of boxsters until that is I tried to chase one up the canyons, Dude was pulling on me hard the entire time
i certainly wouldnt mind waking up and making the difficult decision of choosing one of four porsches. and he has DSM roots too? good shit.
I started with a 2.5 and now drive a 3.2. They are such good cars handling is so damn good. Love them to death.
At the end of the day the 2.5 wasnt that bad either, it was very rev happy and you could go flat out everywhere.
Damn right with 5 to 7. Its great to know that with porsche going watercooled they still sound perfect.
I wish all the owners were so excited on these videos.
Boxsters are superb drivers cars and so undervalued .Nice car Bill .
"I like to let the bikers have their fun". That is a big thumbs up from me dude. :)
This man has a great story to go with the video. Nicely done.
This was one of the better videos on Porsche on the UA-cam. Very nice job. Oddly, I'm super curious to see what he's done with the Cayenne, next.
This is my favourite of these so far!
I'm guilty of shit talking the Boxster like this one in stock form. There's one in my neighborhood and every time a friend or family member points it out I don't bat an eye and say "that's the crap one" because for the performance value, I always thought the S2000 or Z4 would be much better choices. After seeing this video I definitely ate my words a bit... this guy's Boxster is probably the best one I've seen EVER! It's tastefully modded, and not so eye catching, yet it has tons of performance and the owner took the time to really learn and enjoy the car. MAD props to you Bill! Great car!
WhiteCharisma Hey, it's Bill... I always liked the under dog stories and the idea of a clean sleeper with great performance was what I was after. Thanks so much for the kind comment!!
qikqbn77 No problem! I'm the same! Right now since I just finished my Undergrad in Biology, I'm building up my 1997 Honda Accord Ex 5 speed into something that can compete at the lower level of Auto X. So far in just stock form, I'm able to keep up and beat a few of the Civics and Integra's in my class which makes me happy. It's a very underrated family car that no one ever suspects as being "quick" and I'm hoping to do a full rebuild and restoration as time goes on. Watching how far you've taken your Boxster also motivates me to finish my goal as well! :D
WhiteCharisma For sure! It's a nice feeling of accomplishment knowing you have built something that punches above its class! ;^)
OVER 50% MORE HP...(200+110) for 310?! Sign me up! Love the concept, plus all the other fantastic mods..Kudos! My '01 Boxster S would do well with your mods!
Great video, cool owner, really balanced well done upgrade/mods! For the record, and a poke in yer eye, going from 205 HP to ~315 is about a 54% increase, not "30% more horsepower than stock..." at 1:07 in the video. (315 - 205)/205 = 0.53658... or 54% (53.65853%)
LoL Matt's math is a little bit off. 30% would be about 61 hp more
what a cool guy lol just an overall likable human being
one of the best one takes. Bill is awesome lol
Wweet timing, Batman. Today, after work, I'm going to look at a guy who put a new 3.4 into a Boxter. I'm looking to buy my first porsche and it seems like a great one.
*Sweet
keep us posted on your search... still looking or did you get the 986 3.4??
+qikqbn77 he still has it. But he was an hour away and was super particular about when hed, show the car. Not just not raining, but no rain in the last few days or in the forecast. I'm getting transferred to Phoenix. I'm just gonna look down there.
I have one
6:08 Farrah says, "It really bothers me, that people don't respect the Boxter".. That's true with many great sports cars.. The Boxter, of course the Miata, the S2000, Lotus Elise, the list goes on.. Some of the purest and most entertaining examples of sports cardom are considered girly or gay...
Seems like it's mainly a 'merica thing.. A common fallacy that bigger = better for everything. Even sports cars have to be big to be respected. Like the Viper or the big Lambo. I see how it happened, compact cars are for poor people, bigger car equals "made it".. But one cannot simply apply that perception to all vehicles!
thats how you pitch it to the wife. "look how cute it is" till shes flying around a track doing 80 in it in racing seats and harness
Nah, I own a 986 Boxster. Biggest pain in the ass. Maybe it wasn't taken care off all that well before I got it. It's been underwhelming though. Even the handling was surprisingly not as good as it was billed to be. My Celica with nothing more than a wheel and tire upgrade beats it in the turns. I expected at least the same level of grip especially for the amount of tire it wears.
@@LordToxygene Okay, you lost me at "My Celica"... Don't get me wrong, Celica's are decent handling little FWD cars. But unless your Celica is an All-Trac Turbo model... It's not even in the same league.
@@bliglum I own an 1990 Celica Alltrac as well but I wasn't comparing it to that. In a wide sweeping onramp I could floor the 02 Celica I had with just that wheel and tire upgrade and have a much higher speed by the time I hit the freeway than with the Boxster. With the 986 that I own, the rear will want to break loose at a far lower speed and so I'll have to pull back on the throttle. And the tires on the Celica were just 235/40/17 Bridgestone RE11 tires. Not even as wide as the stock tires on the rear of the 986.
@@LordToxygene Is your boxster's suspension okay? Rear sway bar? Are you running a decent compound tire?
I would have to say that is a pretty nice car. I always wanted a one. Great build quality.
Got to love Boxster cuz it looks so sleek and it saved Porsche Company from being bankruptcy. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great video. Love the word invention: Turning "radiuses"
Tis guy really keep take care of his car.
Bill's cool, get him back some more!
I remember that PS2 game where that dude used to shout "Maaa Boxster!"
The end lol
Again, I'd love for you guys to take this show on the road and check out different cars in the hpde community around the country.
Joshua C Unfortunately, unless a sponsor wants to step up and pay for that, there's no way financially for that to happen, and with me being booked through January in LA, there's no incentive for me to go out and find the sponsor. Just being real about it. A couple nights in a Holiday Inn would whack the revenue from nearly all the videos filmed on that trip.
What I've been trying to say is that I and some associates could arrange it. I know the owner of MSR and eagles canyon in north Texas, lots of car clubs too. Trackdays are cheap and you could film a lot of cars. Holliday inn for a few days isn't shit. Lets discuss privately if you're interested. I've organized all kinds of events, from raves to Trackdays. We can work it out homie.
TheSmokingTire You're booked until January???! Sheesh!
Joshua C That's pretty cool that you know the owner of MSR. Drive through Cresson all the time, so naturally I drive by MSR. Haven't had a chance to take my MINI out there yet, but that's on my to do list soon.
Brian Z he's a hell of a guy. The whole staff was great. I put together a track day for a local forum and they were a huge help. ECR is my favorite track tho. They have $150 open track days once a month. Def should check it out.
DAMN!! at 12:00 that bike was damn close to getting destroyed.
07:12 - 07:20 beautiful sound 👍🏽👌🏼
Great vid, Matt. The boxster is a great car, no doubt. I'd love to have 300hp in mine....
If you're ever in the Carolinas - I have 2 of the best driving Porsches you can ever experience.
I always love your vids. But when you let the rockets go by...... 😍. As an R1 rider, you just earned a fan for life. Respect Bro respect.
"So this has 30% more HP over stock." If it's 300+ HP it's actually over 50% over stock (~200 HP).
Bring this guy back !
I really don't like the looks of the first gen Boxster, but you can't deny that this build is really boss.
Jagh Haringenamn it grows on you quick, just be sure to get one with the xenon lights option. At this point i think it looks much more modern then the 987.
The looks? I dunno about that. But I bet the car itself would!
Jagh Haringenamn From behind these things are jaw dropping, you gotta get down low. Fat tires and turbo twist rims make a huge difference as well. I have a black hardtop on my speed yellow 986 and alot of people like the roof line with the hardtop.
I fell for the cars because of their driven dynamics and expected to never have the looks truly grow on me, but the lines of the rear are unbelievably sexy.
The car is dated but in a way thats actually really nice, the car is a mix of design cues from the 550 and 718, while also being futuristic for its time, it harkoned to the past and also looked forward into the future.... a future that never came. Which leaves the car as not the most beautifiul car in the world however it will always remain unique and timeless. I have people ask if its brand new at times yet at other times i feel as if i am driving something steve mcqueen would have in the 60s.
All that aside, you can pick up a rough one for 6k, and how could you go wrong with a flat 6 mid engine euopean sports car for under 15 much less 8 regardless of looks.
TheBIGJake111 TBH, I prefer the look of the first or second gen from behind to the new one.. The new one just does not look right from the back.. Maybe it's that integrated spoiler that spoils it for me : )
+TheBIGJake111 I agree that the 986 is ageing better than the 987.1....I do really like the refresh for 2009, though. The 981 is just fantastic.
Awesome conversation. Watched through the entire video even though I would never consider buying a Boxter, or even any 996 for that matter.
Well that’s a shame. Boxsters are phenomenal bang for the buck now.
Horsepower at Elevation power loss... It's been a while since this one take, but I did get asked questions about how 300 hp feels at that elevation. This one take started out at a parking lot around 3300 feet elevation and then proceeds to climb the mountain. At the point where Matt comments on power delivery and almost reaches the top of the mountain to turn around is at an elevation between 6000-7000 feet. According to "Horsepower at Elevation" calculators that is equivalent to a 60 hp LOSS at that elevation. 310hp-60 hp feels more like a car with 250 hp at that elevation. So you definitely feel the loss of power at high elevations and what is a quick car at sea level, does not feel so quick at the top of the mountain. Night and day difference actually. Always fun driving the car to the bottom of the mountain and closer to sea level where it really feels like a different car and more powerful.
He seems like a cool guy :)
For you.
why is no one talking about how fucking amazing it sounds
My father had a magnificent Boxster S 550 Spyder 50th Anniversary Edition. After the oil seal failed on the highway and thus trashed the engine, he replaced it with another 996 engine, the 3.6 with 320 hp. It was a great setup, a lot more aggressive, as the 996 engine climbs at lot more on the cams.
Unfortunately, I crashed it on a french narrow road during a passing maneuver. After changing back to my lane at moderate speed, I lost control and trashed the side fences. The whole car was destroyed. It turned out they had filled a huge bump with gravel, which was totally unnoticeable to the naked eye. While cornering, the tires lost grip, and the boxster is a very difficult car to rescue once it breaks out.
I still feel ashamed. :(
Financial means aside, I still think you've got to have a set of stones to actually follow through on an engine swap on any Porsche. Awesome video, awesome car.
thats a great driver's car. well done. sounds like a great garage this guy has.
Someone made their own RUF 3400S! Look it up if you haven't heard of it, it was pretty dope for it's time.
I pretty frequently drove a 2000C2 911 with 3.4 when I was younger, and ai loved the car, but I always imagined that the Boxster would have been a better fit for the motor, and probably a lot quicker all around.
Devin Betterton Hey Devin, It's Bill... AH HA! YES! Very Observant of you ;^) RuF 3400S was the exact car and inspiration I modeled my coversion after! The looks, performance and handling were just perfect and were my goals for this car. I read every technical article I could find on the RuF 3400S before I started just so I knew exactly what I needed before hand. I think I got it pretty close ;^)
qikqbn77 Bill any chance you are on DSMTuners? I'd love to check out your past DSM's!
tylersevo Hey Tylersevo, it's Bill . On my wheelwell page wall is a link to my Eclipse GSX project. Although I sold it many years ago I still have a page dedicated to all the work I had done on it. check it out! ;^)

Lots of interesting people in these comments. I love the variety and knowledgeable car guys.
Motorcyclist's were having way more fun...
That bike got so close
Franky Leandri too close
Huh? 60fps looks like normal speed unless you actually run it at 30fps which would be half speed (slow motion).
Patrick94GSR 30fps isn't really slow motion, it's just half as many frames per second as 60. The second still goes by in the video in exactly the same amount of time on both 30 and 60fps, just 60fps has twice the frames added. It simply creates a smoother video.
Franky Leandri .. Right, the green bike at 11:52. The rider would have missed a heartbeat!
Shortstuffjo
lol I know what 60fps vs. 30 does. 30fps is standard video, but most LCD displays refresh at 60 Hz or some even 120 or 240 now, which make them capable of showing 60 fps video.
What I was saying is that running 60 fps video at the normal 30 fps would result in half-speed or slow motion video. Someone else said that 60fps video looks slower than real life (looks like the comment was deleted), but that is not the case unless you actually run it slower than 60fps.
Awesome one take!!
I have a 1999 Boxster.
The previous owner, supposedly was the 1st guy to put a 3.4 L engine in any Boxster.
He also lowered the car with a new suspension. I think he did it in 2004. It ended up in a magazine. I’ve had the car since 2010, I think.
I bought it on EBay from a guy in Virginia, that had all the work done in Nyack NY.
I have Over 110,000 Fantastic miles on it.
😎👍
Just curious, what color is your 3.4 Boxster? I probably read the magazine about the build and studied it before I installed the 3.4 in my Boxster back in 2007.

Blue
Super cool guy and great car!
Good guy Matt letting bikers have their fun.
Wish people were more that way. I have soooo many A hole pick up truck drivers in my area that deliberately become lane blockers
Great video guys
Hey its Simon Cowell
I was about to say the same thing lmao
i won't be a youtube comment douche and repeat this observation so i'll just thumb it up :)
Ace Campano Except somebody kicked him in the balls - hence the squeaky tall voice
***** LOL but still the guy was very cool
Ace Campano
I was thinking, Robin Thick
Great drive and review!
Very fine car
gotta love bill
Do Bill's Cayman S! I've been waiting for one.
Had driven a 2000 2.7 before. Not a whole lot of HP but still a great car to drive. And they are not very expensive to purchase. Though worth it to get a Boxster S version.
nice vid, I had a 99 boxster and loved it. It handled great and for its rated power of 201 crank it put down 190hp to the tires on a dynojet. The only thing I really could not abide was having plastic instead of glass for the rear window... I mean come on, a 45 -55k car with plastic that goes cloudy if you park it with the windows sealed for a week or 2.....
BKathos Hey Bkathos! It's, Bill.. I totally agree and I hated that plastic rear window too! I had to give it the old "Boxster Karate Chop" every time I put the top down, especially when it was cold outside! A while ago I switched the convtible top out for a glass window convertible top made by "GAHH". I love it and it looks really great in the up position too!
qikqbn77 haha, yea the ole vert top chop maneuver. Brings back the memories. Even after all these years i still miss the boxster. But instead of getting another one, I'm going with the new Miata. Its faster than the old 99 boxster, gets better mpg and should be easier to maintain as a daily.
Nice to see some variety on here. Still need more Japanese cars.
Ruf made the 3400s and later the 3600s which basically was a boxster with a carrera engine, but they also beefed up the suspension, brakes and made their own unique interior.
The Ruf 3400 was my goal and blueprint for how I wanted my car modified. The suspension and brakes were all on my mods list as well. Got pretty close I think ;^)
Just had to replace a power steering pump on a 97 model. Totally different animal vs any other German car I've worked on (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW)
Awesome owner !
That's a beautiful highway.
I have a 99 Boxster manual with the original 2.5 204 HP 186 Lb/Ft and even with those modest numbers the car is VERY fun to drive and very capable. I am curious about the 3.4 conversion which is mostly bolt in and affordable. Cool Video!
~1.40 "I like to let bike guys have their fun" But more importantly, you want to see how well you can keep up with them in this car ^^
***** there were bends on either side with people driving quick no choice really and he didn't coast up to his lane either he was aware of the danger he even said it. Nothing you can do in these situations but hope for the best :)
That guy is fucking loaded. I'm jelly.
Matt is taking passive aggressive shots at this guy the entire drive.. lol
Hey Matt Farah! First let me tell you how much I love and enjoy watching these one takes! Definitely allows someone into looking at the car better. I would love to have my 95 BMW 325i on an episode. With that said, how can I "apply" for a day with you with my car? It would be super cool for someone like you to drive my car! Thanks so much! Keep up the good work!
Luis Barrios you can make a profile on wheelwell and send it over to our Facebook page if you're in Los Angeles.
ooohh I wanna see a One Take of that GSX he was talking about. Now those are nice cars. Buick's LS6 Chevelle. . .
Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus Hi.... it's Bill. on my WheelWell "wall" I posted a link to my car
projects website which I still have a page dedicated to my 1997
Mitsubishi Eclipse... check it out ;^)
I would love to shoehorn a 3.4l into my Boxster as well. I have a pretty good feeling that 18 years after it left the factory it's making nowhere near 200bhp
please do his other porsches
Although I know you set up cars and roads for each day, a lightly more technical route would have been interesting to watch how the car behaves with the added power. Cool nonetheless, you should do similar one takes on east coast sometime.
Alex G we try to find the best routes to make an average for all the cars shot that day. Can't win them all.
I know for video purposes you need to keep the top up, but the true experience to me is always with the top down..
Wow that swapped 3.4L sounds too good, love it!!
VQSeries crazy thing is the 2.5 sounds just as good. The 2.5 is short on power but not sound. I have a 3.2 right now which has more throat then my old 2.5 but the 2.5 was actually a bit louder and free revving.
The 2.5 has just one bank of cats while the 2.7 and 3.2 got pre cats as well. If you are really lucky you can find one with a factory sport exhuast with a button to open up a bypass similar to modern porsches.
VQSeries Hello fellow VQ brother.
I miss this old style of smoking tyre with modified cars
That's the way Porsche should have made the Boxster. I do like the Cayman Better. A 3.8 Cayman 07 is one of my bucket list.
The M96 engine is so underrated. Do the maintenance and drive it well and you'll be fine.
Just have to hit 6k RPMs to see any power
