I only have a few minutes in the air with the 260, but I have to say I was impressed, specially for a 67" airframe. It felt as capable as my 104" Slick on maneuvers that small airplanes don't usually like... I think it's partly due to a good size (small enough to just use 6S batteries, but large enough that doesn't feel like a tiny plane easily moved around by the wind). I'd like to move the CG a bit further fwd, but even then the precision aerobatics felt pretty good while having great tail/elevator authority for aggressive maneuvers like vortex, knife edge spins...
Thanks! I still need to get more flights in to form a better opinion, but here's what I'm thinking based on my first impressions. I've never been this excited about taking a spin in a "small" plane (you know, compared to my 120cc airframe).Normally, anything with a wingspan of 60" and below feels like a bit of a trade-off, never quite living up to the performance of my trusty 105" Slick. However, this 67" Extra surprised me. It felt like a bigger plane. Even in the wind it was very good in precision aerobatics. I imagine that a 70/70" would be even better (haven't flown one in a while), but then you start getting into 12S batteries, which makes logistics a bit more of a hassle. This feels like the sweet spot for me for an electric XA airplane.
Thanks! Yeah, they’re LiHV packs. I will be testing the 6200 ones too sometime soon. The plane is so light that these might work even better for a bit more flight time

Tanto en este cómo en el 105” Slick no tengo mezclas. Seguramente les vendría bien timón->profundidad y timón->alerones para maniobras de precisión, pero no le he dedicado tiempo a hacerlo.

Solo que me interesa también este aspecto en el vuelo 3D pues sinceramente nunca he visto ningún tutorial que hagan referencias a esto y solo muestran el avión volando perfectamente y entonces cuando uno pasa horas y horas en el simulador ya cansado y sin saber por qué si está siguiendo todas las instrucciones del tutorial no sale la maniobra correctamente. Otra pregunta...jaja En lo personal cuáles son las razones y función por la cual tú utilizas los exponenciales? Además noté y me llama mucho la atención que son números realmente altos de exponenciales (a mi parecer), por otra parte se o eso creo yo jajaja, que muchos vendedores o fabricantes cuando te compras un avión te vienen en las instrucciones todos los datos de exponenciales que debes utilizar para que el avión vuele lo mejor posible, alguna vez los has tenido que modificar para sentirte más como y volar mejor? @@Cubanito_RC Tengo pensado hacer un video sobre exponenciales entrando en mas detalle, pero la idea basica es poner el exponencial suficiente para poder hacer maniobras de precision (tonel lento, circulo con tonel integrado...) con relativa comodidad a pesar de tener mucha deflexion de superficies de mando. En general suelo ignorar la recomendacion del fabricante y empiezo con valores como los de este video y luego ajusto dependiendo de las sensaciones.
@@skyboundrc ohhh... Perfecto 👌. En mi club y en general en el país completo como aún hay radios antiguas, donde los muchachos solo saben de pequeños ajustes como los trim... Pues le tienen mucho miedo a los exponenciales (claro es que no se informan bien y también son muy tercos jajaja, difícil que vean las ventajas de los exponenciales). Hace aproximadamente 3 meses luego de ahorrar muchísimo tiempo logré comprarme un RadioMaster TX16S, un choque con el desarrollo, con el les e intentado explicar las ventajas hasta donde sabía pero como aprendieron sin nada de eso ellos dicen que no se sienten cómodos incluso hoy ocurrió un accidente con un avión y el dueño le hecha la culpa a los exponenciales (nunca los había utilizado, pero he de decir que es el mejor piloto del club). De hecho el y yo somos los que vamos a iniciar de manera más profesional el vuelo 3D pues acá no hay competencia ni nada que las organice para esta modalidad. Thanks! I’ve been lucky enough that a great local photographer (Richard Small) has been willing to help out recording video and has been using his (very expensive) Nikon Z9. For the transmitter I’m using a GoPro Hero 11.
Definitely! Any of the Extreme Flight or PilotRc airframes are great sport and aerobatic planes, super easy to fly if you just set small surface deflection angles
