😱
greetings friend! Is the procedure applied to the TD SR12 model?
What is the airplane on the shelf over your shoulder? I love the look and would like to get one.
❤
Where is this extra inch or two in the case as the X20S and R look very similar in size to me.
Hi Juan, what is the best option instead of MXS V2 in your opinion? I want to perform e.g. Crankshaft...
Going to have to send this video to some people 😂
Another awesome interview!
Do the MD5301H get warm? Are servos getting warm normal? I did a test for 15 min with a servo tester and the MD5301H got warm. Not hot just warm.
I haven't noticed them getting warm when flying in the field. Note that I usually do 3 or 4 6 minute very aggressive flights back to back.
Awesome review! Did you use the APC 11x5.5E prop or some other version? Did you change the ESC or was the ESC overheating? I just got this plane and also the APC 11x5.5E thin electric prop and i don't want to burn the ESC. Thanks in advance!
Also is it better to run it with a gyro? Did you use a gyro in it?
yes, my flights were done with the APC 11x5.5E prop. Nothing changed with the ESC included. I didn't check temperatures, but never had issues despite doing back to back aggressive flights. Not sure about how durable this setup is though, as I only flew this plane for a few weeks before I sold it.
Gyro is totally up to the pilot. I personally don't use gyros in any prop planes, but a well setup gyro would likely make it more stable.
Thanks for the quick reply! Very helpful!
So what durability are we talking about? Electronics getting bad overtime or airframe issues? Also do you maybe remember what CG you used? Thanks in advance!
I knew I recognized the Lincoln field. If I do get one, I will add a satellite receiver.
Another way to do that, more easier and same result, ua-cam.com/video/Euwc7b0mDZM/v-deo.html
🙏THANK YOU!!!🙏 I started flying a 20”wing RTF two weeks ago! Then bought a 1220 ranger, 64mm Futura, and this transmitter/ receiver! My goal is the Viper!! But first… 😔the 20”🤷♂️
Thanks for the info. One other question when putting in the aileron control horns it looks like the inboard and out board are the same length, I know a some other manufacturers have different lengths for each since the thickness of the wing changes. Did you have any issues with setting them up with the same length control horns?
hi! Yeah, EF does usually use different horn lengths and I'm a big fan of that. This PilotRC didn't. It wasn't a big deal, they're close enough that is easy to adjust in the TX later, but definitely would love to see this in future Pilot planes
Season's Greetings all. Awesome video and content. What no one is saying or showing (as far as i can find) are ways of tweaking (I'm working on this) Auto Level response. If you're used to AS3 type stabilizers, in Auto Level any right stick movement off center causes the stabilization to "back off" and it's "your airplane". I find the FrSky stabilization system does not want to relinquish control, regardless of gain settings and fights you for the airplane. I belive under "SRX Stable" that can be tweaked, but i am yet to find proper info on that. On scale models with AS3 I sometimes like to use auto level on takeoff and/or landings to ease the workload especially on the scale Jets and windy days. Mind you, I am coming over to FrSky from JR 12X / Spektrum receivers and Hobby Eagle A3 Super 3 stabilization. Some of my jets are still Spektrum / A3S and im using a multi protocol module on the X20S and thats just fine. Nonetheless, I love my FrSky X20S and the SR series receivers, im just not using Auto Level feature, but certainly have it on an "Oh Sh*t" button.
Awsame video thanks
I worked out a variation of what Perez did at 3:13 years ago. It was based off of something I saw Shawn Tucker do when he flew a Pits in the early 1990's. I've never seen a monoplane pull it off and the only way I could make it work was by using parallax to make it look like as if the plane was doing the impossible. I'm glad to see someone taking advantage of that concept. It's easy to do with RC because you flying from the perspective of the spectator. Thankyou for the video.
Hey I saw a Juan Sanchez in a CAmodel video from 16 years ago, I think the plane was a CAmodel Galaxy. Was that you? Thanks for your videos, I really appreciate them.
Hey! Yeah, that was me!
Wow, cheers...amazing!
Good list, but I'm giving myself a PT-19 and an X20pro AW (orange) this Christmas. Cause, I know I'm getting socks and underwear otherwise❤😂
Those are definitely some nice gifts!
I have been eyeing the FrSky X20S as my next radio for the past year and had some questions I needed good answers for before committing. This interview with Steve answered all of them. I have never watched a more candid, down to earth, informative and thoughtful interview with a customer rep. My hat is off to steve, Kudos. My next radio is definitely going to be the X20RS.
I have 2 Hota S6 chargers and they won't go to 24v on my DIY 24v PSU. The Hota D6 does. No idea. Thanks for the heads up on this charger 1000w and 4 ports. If this accepts the 24v properly then I can crank through batteries at 2C at the field.
I haven’t tried charging via DC. Let us know how it goes!
Great list of gifts. I use a modified cheap 20-dollar charger to discharge batteries. I removed the circuit and the resister heat sink and connected a bunch of lightbulbs. It will discharge a 4x 6s 5200 lipos in 15 minutes.
Fun Interview! I feel the passion and enjoyment for the hobby within Ryu and Tony. Hilarious that building planes to stop buying them so their wives wouldn’t complain turned into a career in it! That’s what it’s all about. 😆
I liked the intro I’ll have you know 😆 You forgot to mention why you only drill half way through. I presume for less of a chance to chip the backside and to eliminate the possibility of the drill press being off a tiny bit resulting in more of a uniform hole. It’s been said compression is what helps keep the prop on and a lot of folks make their holes more of an hour glass shape. Seems silly, but it’s fair to say that perfection isn’t always needed. I always balance after drilling too!
2:29 I would recommend the Dremel HSES-01 it’s under 50 and although it doesn’t have a gyro like the dewalt - it has a clutch!
That sounds like a great find!
Nice interview! Absolute pleasure meeting you both at Joe Nall 2024! Thanks for spotting my flights from time to time! Hopefully see you guys next spring!
It was great to meet you there too! I’ll definitely be there in 2025 :-)
Would definitely like to hear about the new Aeroflot rc 10 simulator. I hadn’t realized there was a new one and I just bought realflight evolution
Foam Safe Ca and zip-kicker… great stocking stuffer!!
I was standing at the electric line when this happened. I remember the "pop" being pretty loud.
❤❤❤❤
Hi, Did you put any Loctite on the stab screws if not any issues with them coming lose. I don't take my stabs off should I use Loctite?
I haven't used loctite in the stab screws. I use some rubber washers (I forget if they came with the plane kit or I added them on my own) that keep the whole thing tight. Every time I disassemble, the bolts are as tight as I left them, so no concerns there. If you want, you could always add the tiniest amount of blue loctite for extra peace of mind.
First
Outstanding! 👏
nice Juan love your video as always!!
I appreciate it!
What are your thoughts on Aerofly RC? I have Mac and Realfly not available
Another great interview! This simulator info is extremely valuable for me. Thanks for the edits for the 260. I utilize the sim a lot since I’m only home a couple days a week. The muscle memory from it actually translates very well for me. I’ve also come to realize having a color scheme that’s very similar to what I’m flying to be more valuable than I thought it would be.
15:40 Special thanks to Rory for the contributions to Real Flight. I paused the video to go check it out. I like flying planes on the sim with the same color scheme as what I have. And I just got the 67" EXF extra (blue and white). I haven't even maidened it yet but I will be flying it on the sim until I do! Great flying model!
That PowerBox auto servo matching sounds pretty sick... Other manufacturers 100% need to take note.
Great interview ,Rory is a great idol
your videos are very helpful, good job man. I've been flying edfs most of the time but I want to get started with 3d . what airplane do you recommend? is the eflite extra 330 good ?
Good Video with much information. But why did you put out the Audio Bluetooth Module in X20RS? I mean in the past X20S had it and this one was much cheaper
You force me to WATCH instead of just listening…, cuz all the beautiful b-roll videos you inserted at the times when you are talking about the feel of day the Edge.., or Mamba and Ultimate… beautiful attention to details adding that in…
I have a deep appreciation for what you’ve done with your channel… I’m used to long form podcasts, so I wouldn’t have minded if this went five or six hours in one video, honestly…. Thanks for all you do with the channel, man… 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I have a request for you see if you can figure out how Ryu ends a crankshaft in a pinwheel to downline. Love your content
I'll look into it for a future tutorial!
@skyboundrc awesome!!
Yo los hago pasantes y con broca de 5,15 por la tolerancia. Con la broca de 5,20 entran demasiado holgados
Very nice! How would you compare the 67” laser Exp to this model. Same, better. I hope EF has addressed minor issues in RxR versions. Look forward to your thoughts
I've only tried somebody else's 67" Laser for a few flights. They're not too different. The 260 is a great aerobatic/freestyle all around model, while the Laser might have a bit of an advantage on precision flying. But again, they're both very similar in terms of flying characteristics, so things like CG, throws, expo... will likely make a bigger difference for most pilots. I'd recommend going with whichever model you like the looks of the most :-)
@@skyboundrc Thank you. I agree with you, setup is key. This may not be a fair question, in your experience is the Skywing brand of better quality/overall design. Or is it mainly aesthetics.
I'd say the newer (last 2 years) models from PilotRC, Extreme Flight and Skywing are very similar in terms of quality of materials, construction, accessories and flying characteristics. They are all slightly different and have their own personalities, but can't really say one is better than other in general. (sorry, I know most people would love a definitive A is better than B). In reality, these 3 brands are top of the line and it's all about chosing the model that fits you best (in terms of aesthetics, price, and specific flying style).
@@skyboundrc Many thanks. Points well taken. I ordered the EF 67” (was in stock:) I also like the classic laser color scheme. I hope it will fly well, I have read a few comments elsewhere saying the 67” platform is not as stable/good and the 74” is better!! Well I can’t really quantify that. Just someone’s experience. I can’t wait to fly it.
I’ve owned 3 Pilot RC Yaks, still flying one. Getting replacement wood is virtually impossible….
Thanks for the vids
Glad you like them!
