Additionally... as the roll rates are increased, the need to "Anticipate" the input increases... there is a latency between the input on the sticks and the servo moving ..... it is very small with good fast servos... but it isn't zero.... Also: Same inputs as Harrier rolls... so learn Harrier rolls... and then reduce aircraft body angle and increase speed....
Thank you Mr Juan. I recently started loving the fixed wing rc hobby. Is there a modern flight simulator for 3d acrobatics planes like in this video ? Just like fpv guys have lift off simulator or Feel fpv simulator ! The ones i found for fixed wing are old amd difficult to downoad or buy ?

I can only fly on Real Flight as the funds do not allow me to get back into the hobby just yet, I built up the rifle rolls to where I'm back at the full throws, but when starting to try to turn either full 360 or just 90 degree turn the plane likes to climb up. How do I help combat that? Give less rudder input and more elevator for the turn? or do you turn the rifle roll with the rudder while keeping plane up with elevator or control the altitude with the throttle kind of like post stall maneuvers? hi! If the plane is climbing, it just means that we're either too early or too late on rudder and/or elevator and you end up compensating too much upwards. I'd probably try to reduce the amount of rudder/elevator you use (or increase expo) and pay more attention to the timing. You could also reduce aileron rates or physics speed a bit, until you get consistently good turns, then slowly ramp it up again. I definitely wouldn't recommend using throttle for altitude control there, as if you're truly doing rifle rolls, the throttle won't affect almost at all the altitude, as the airplane has plenty of speed regardless of throttle position
Hi Juan, when doing turns do you use the undercarriage as your reference for inputs and are you keeping the inputs the same or are you giving increased rudder at the points where the wings are level to make turns? Got the hang of straight rifle rolls but turning in the opposite direction to the roll is proving difficult. Love your tutorials and channel by the way! Cheers :)

I do everything the same as with straight rifle rolls, but give a little bit of rudder when the wings are close to level (both during upright and inverted flight) and elevator when close to knife edge towards the direction I want to point the airplane to. It really looks like the same inputs as the straight rolls, but with the timing slightly offset. If you're already good at straight rifle rolls, you might want to try slowing down the roll rate quite a bit when practicing the turns until things click
How does wind effect rifle rolls? I've got harrier rolls and rolling circles but speeding up the roll always gets my nerves jittering a little more lol
Wind has very little impact. The main effect is that in downwind, the plane will roll slightly slower (relative speed of air over the wind is slower), while in upwind the plane will roll a bit faster.
The rifle roll technique is simpler than the rolling harrier, as you don't have to worry about throttle control in rifle rolls. Rifle rolls are particularly challenging due to the high roll rate. If you slow them down enough, they're definitely easier than rolling harriers in my opinion, and a good first step towards rolling harriers for those that are new to it.
@@skyboundrc i could definitely see that, im getting decent on the sticks, just the super high roll rate stuff is challenging for me. We need a tutorial on the maneuver that looks like the elephant walk but in a knife edge!

A ocasiones la practico en el simulador con la velocidad física dismiuida drásticamente, pero aún no son suficientes las prácticas. Tengo una pregunta, qué recomiendas aprender primero, rolling harrier o rifle roll? Y otra más 😅, cuál es la lógica en la traducción al español de las palabras rifle roll? Jajajaja
Mi recomendacion es aprender primero rifle rolls relativamente lentos (por ejemplo, un tonel que dure entre 1.5 segundos). En el rolling harrier vas a tener que hacer eso mismo, y ademas preocuparte de modificar la posicion del motor constantemente y de mantener el angulo de ataque. Con los toneles rapidos (rifle rolls lentos), aprendes a coordinar timon y profundidad durante los toneles. Luego, para rolling harrier, solo te tienes que preocupar en las variables nuevas.

Are rifle rolls not harder than rolling harrier? I cant rifle roll but i can rolling harrier doesnt make sense
