- There truly is no other character in Smash speculation right now like Master Chief. A character with no connections to Nintendo making it huge amongst the others in his speculation circle. Whether or not said support is warranted has yet to be seen, but it can't be denied that people absolutely love the idea of Chief in Smash. So, of course, I decided to look into how he'd play.

I would love to see you change weapons with down b and neutral B will be the shoot button. For charge weapons you hold the b button. Spartan laser will be sick in the game.

Chief IS on a Nintendo console, Minecraft had a "Better Together" update which meant the Halo mashup pack got on Nintendo editions of the game including Switch. I also think it's worth mentioning that there was going to be a DS exclusive halo game which got cancelled
Not to mention he is playable in Fortnite and you can actually use him on the switch

If master chief becomes a fighter in super smash bros ultimate it will be a dream come true for me because he has been one of coolest characters in video game history

Really cool video, the gameplay of Halo meshes fairly well with smash in terms of playstyle like you said, as not being a complete camper which ultimately dampened the hype for BK for a lot of people whilst still not being completely rushdown focussed.
The laser sounds really cool, sniping people with a more reliable thoron/thunder spell sounds like it would be pretty fun.
Chief is kind of a long shot as one thing that’s overlooked with him is his blatant association to Xbox as their mascot unlike Steve and Banjo and literally has a new game releasing for that system he is a mascot for next year. If Chief does show up it’s definitely E3 though

XD. Chief should be decent at every range. I think his melee attacks should always launch, so you prefer to fight from medium range.
Master chief revolutionized the fps genre, especially console fps's. With features like aim assist, the 2 weapon system, and others still being used in fps's today. If solid snake and bayonetta I don't see why Master Chief would be unlikely.

Another great moveset! I do find it hilarious that Microsoft's two Smash reps were both acquired properties rather than anyone homegrown in Microsoft.

Been waiting a while for this one. Pretty cool concept overall, with some fun ideas I wish I thought of (such as using active camo as a spotdodge/air dodge). Only thing I disagree with is his chances. Sakurai said before that being on a Nintendo console is more of a curtesy rather than a requirement, and sure, Final Fantasy has a long history with Nintendo, but only FF7 content is in Smash, which wasn't on a Nintendo system for the longest time. Persona is a similar case, except that Persona has very little attachment to Nintendo, with only spinoffs really appearing on Nintendo consoles. Sure, SMT has a long Nintendo history, but again, there's no SMT-specific content in Smash. Not even Jack Frost got to make it in as a spirit. If you want to get into the nitty gritty, Chief actually has appeared on Nintendo systems twice, just through other games; Minecraft and Fortnite. This shows that at least Microsoft is cool with Chief appearing on non-Xbox systems. There's also rumors of the MCC getting on Switch at some point, but that's just a rumor anyways. Tldr; MS would be cool with it, but it's just a question of will Nintendo go for it or not, and considering Chief could bring in a new audience to Smash that normally doesn't play the games, it could be a good idea for them. I think he's got a solid chance, but that's just me.

Nintendo and Microsoft are still competitors at the end of the days and BK are a lot more associated with Nintendo whilst Steve has Minecraft which has appeared on their systems quite a lot recently. Microsoft literally just launched the new Xbox and Chief literally is the mascot of it. Combine that with a new game coming then it’s pretty easy to see why Chief isn’t really likely as it would be a pretty bad business move as many would just migrate to Xbox and lose interest in Nintendo’s own stuff. Chief is way too associated with Xbox to be anywhere close to remotely reasonable.
@@Gatchu137 not really... FF Remake literally got zero content. The only thing it got with Sephiroth was the artwork used for the Chocobo and Moogle spirit which people who don’t buy the dlc can also get, basically making it free.
The logic definitely goes both ways, but it’s pretty likely that Nintendo is going to stop at the legitimate mascot of Microsoft. There is a reason he isn’t in despite every third party company’s first rep being their mascot and that’s because they never planned on adding Chief. Sega first got Sonic, Konami got Snake who is more or less there most iconic character, Capcom got Mega Man, Namco got Pac-Man, Square got Cloud etc etc. Master Chief wasn’t given this liberty when you think about it and it’s likely because he’s way too associated with Xbox. It seems odd that every companies first character is a mascot of theirs with the only exception being Microsoft.

No music, the stage has no reference etc. Maybe you should take this stuff less seriously and whatnot in general terms of smash spec because if you are getting frustrated over an argument you claim to be half baked and then proceed to spit a bunch of crap yourself like Sephiroth apparently being promo for a game he doesn’t reference outside of some spirit artwork then like come on dude lol. And how is Metal Gear not Konami’s flagship series? It is, silent hill is cool and all but it’s not Metal Gear and if you seriously think you can contest that, then that shows that you know your arguments lack logic and therefore probably think Chief is unlikely but just don’t wanna admit it. If anything it seems they intentionally avoided FF7R content as much as they could in order to not advertise it.
And btw what retro theme did smash 4 have? It had duck hunt who was a token representative and that’s it. Pac-Man was based on an older design as was Mega Man but that was literally only because they looked better in their older designs. Not because of any non existent retro theming. Sakurai said he didn’t want Pacmans ghostly adventure and that was likely because of how bad it looked. His current design on the other hand, is much better. Either way, Mega Man is still more of a mascot even if Ryu is the bigger character.

I do realise you pointed out how Metal Gear was asked for by Kojima but logically speaking I’m not gonna really consider all of this to be anything serious if you think Sephiroth was a shill for a game they avoided at all costs in representation, just advent children and vanilla FF7 outside of some artwork. I guess dissidia too now that I think about it. Either way, point still stands.
@@Gatchu137 for any retro thematic, Duck Hunt is the only one applicable. Little Mac is commonly misconstrued to be some kind of retro pick when he wasn’t. If it wasn’t for the reboot on Wii he probably never would have gotten included. Pac-Man is a widely iconic character which I agree can largely be put down to his legacy, retro status, etc but nowhere near retro in the same vain as duck hunt for instance and Mega Man is more or less the same as Pac. Whilst they are definitely more retro in terms of age and when they really took off, that’s about all I’d consider retro about them. Duck Hunt really is the only true retro pick. Mac is also similar to PAC and Mega Man but he likely lived or died by the game on Wii. He was probably never gonna get in if it wasn’t for that which confuses me every time someone says Mac is retro. It’s not happening here but regardless. And let’s not call people kid lol. That is something I’d expect a kid to say themselves and is pretty immature so let’s calm it perhaps. Punchy kicky fighting game shouldn’t be taken that seriously. Kinda kidding around but it’s pretty funny you just mention it out of the blue therefore it is arguable more applicable to you. I’ll leave that here. Was quite the laugh to just read kid being brought out of nowhere though and certainly made the whole comment so thanks for the probably spiteful comedy, humorous either way.

Arbiters moves do the same thing but are based on elites and how they fight, his weapons are

Halo 2 Shotgun
Beam rifle
Fuel rod gun
Spartan laser (no substitute)
Most of their weapons have small changes to how they work and purpose they serves (ie plasma rifle slows people down, plasma pistol has charge, needler etc) but they mostly stay the same
Great video, decent moveset, but I can never get behind the idea of Master Chief having a weapon circle for his Smash moveset. That is such a not Halo thing to do, would make more sense for Doom Slayer.
Yeah, like the chief only ever had 3 weapons on him at most depending on the game and usually only one is being used during a battle unless he runs out of ammo or it’s multiplayer, which chief is a campaign exclusive character.
Agreed. I think his weapons should be more incorporated into his normal attacks, smash attacks and ariels. The specials should be solely focused on equipment

It would be a nice detail if Chief’s armor lock attack was an excellent shield breaker move. Makes sense seeing as it’s sort of an emp blast when it releases.

If they introduce him, it should be a short trailer where star fox is traveling around and picks up a signal. He looks around and hears static. Then he does a 180 degree turn to show master chief floating in space (like in the infinite trailer) and plays the finish the fight piano 5 chord thing And infinite gave him a grappling hook. So it should be a recovery, and something to grab opponents and do a smash attack for 15-20 percent

Really missed opportunity with the colors you could have made it one through five with recolors and 6, 7 Mark V, Gen 2 Mark VI and make his Eight color Noble 6 with AI DOT as his AI
Maybe Red vs. Blue could sorta get involved with it too? I mean it was part of Halo’s legacy due to the series having reference in Halo Games, Halo even has some sort of gamemode called "Grifball" which is based on a joke and a character in Red vs. Blue, So i would find Orange being a better color than Yellow so we atleast have one simple reference, Maybe there could also be some tracks from Red vs. Blue related things, such as Ice Fight or Agent Tex (instrumental). Anyways, i do like this concept so far.
If chief somehow manages to get in I think he'll definitely have 2 red vs blue skins

It is clear people want him in.
His ultimate could be an energy sword kill, side special could be a plasma grenade, down special could be bubble shield or armor lock, gimmic could be he heals an extra layer of shield health , up special would be grappling hook, neutral special could be needler. Dash attack could be Spartan charge, down air could be ground pound or gravity hammer, neutral attack could change depending on distance to enemy, melee if an enemy is close, battle rifle if not.
The weapon wheel will be cumbersome and confusing. That might need a rework.

Why a Reach Elite? XD. Instead, have a Color scheme that matches Arby, or somehow, Arby himself.
