In the 1950s, Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent, stranded in rural Appalachia, discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy's past: The Crooked Man.
So I guess this is typical Hellboy and not a spin-off horror type of movie
@@merlethies8302 duh .. The movie is based on the comic
@merlethies8302 not a typical hellboy the stakes are smaller no world ending a
Stuff and a self contained environment just like the comic.
Guys this takes place in the 1950's this is a young hellboy
I never really seen any of the Hellboy movie so that's actually interesting
@@BratynContrerasI recommend you watch the first one at least, if you want to have a better idea of what to expect with this. (It really good.)
(Or just read the comics, idk. You do you.) 🤙
Wasnt hellboy born around 1945?
@@BratynContrerasthe first 2 movies are great
@@VictorCorona2 what NOT to expect with this.
It's a smart move to make a low budget take based on an actual story from the comics, and dare I say it this Hellboy looks quite comic accurate and not an interpretation. If it works, it could pave the way to the bigger stories, if it fails it could be another Dredd.
I feel like they made it low budget cuz the last one failed to make money so this is their way to kinda guarantee turning a profit
@@MV55777 this and also Hellboy isn’t that big of a property, I mean the Del Toro movies didn’t even make more money than Morbius
@MV55777 don't think anyone would finance anything bigger after the last one. This is a smaller story, unlike Seed of Destruction or Wake the Devil, and it probably suits a lower budget.
@@mrstaypuft1138 yeah and low budget horror movies always make money just look at blumhouse
I think we have to remember we're also dealing with a much younger Hellboy than in previous films
Good eye
I’m really surprised that more people aren’t excited about this. Not every move has to be a special effect extravaganza. This has a gritty occult vibe. It’s going to be a good one off installment.
As a big fan of the comic, this is based on I couldn’t be more excited. This looks great.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Don't get me wrong, the trailer didn't blow me away or anything, but as a concept, I can see a smaller-scale Hellboy horror movie working.
It seems like people are more fixed on the makeup on the actor. The horror vibe that its going for hasn't really been done on film for the character, apart from the Babayaga scene in the last film. It's not a great first teaser but I'm certain there's more to this film than what we just saw in a 1 minute teaser. We have yet to see action shots. There's room for some promise, look at all the crazy shit Neveldine and Taylor did for the Crank films and even Ghost Rider to an extant. We'll have to wait and see.
People aren’t excited because of that turd bomb they dropped on us in the latest one the came out
tell me what specifically looked good in the trailer without saying words like "comic accurate"
The way they made him look looks kinda like a fanfilm, but I do like that this one seems to be leaning more horror.
It takes place in the 1950's and it's a younger hellboy when he was a rookie.
Still looks bad @@FluffBear01
He looks most like hellboy out of any of the movies lol.
@@jorreacts8902 like hell , the make up is fucking atrocious
Hellboy (2004): Sony
Hellboy 2 (2008): Universal Pictures
HELLBOY (2019): Lionsgate
Hellboy 2024-ish: Ketchup
@@indiecinemaster4699 LoL!
My opinion:
Look I know everybody is on the same thing.. the hellboy design looks bad but it’s low budget. This looks actually interesting. A Straight pure horror with hellboy. That’s way more interesting than the reboot that came out that wanted to be deadpool so bad
I think the best way to make it look less fanmade is to have a dark color saturation with deep reds for hell boy and even edit his eyes with a yellow tint and have the shadowing darker in the appropriate places
He's back!
I’m also going to say:
When the first Hellboy movie came out I was not interested. I thought THAT one was going to be bad. It became a classic among fans.
I didn’t see it until it became available to rent. Never thought there would be a sequel.
The sequel was even better. The Third one was “meh” but entertaining.
The Crooked Man is the first that I am excited for; and the first I want to actually watch in the theater.
Same here I hope will be good
For a moment I tbought it was Mary-Luise Parker, the actor from La Bamba.
somehow I did not think of the show angle. If this were like a Netflix show, it'd still look kinda cheap, but would be a lot more acceptable, and I'd actually be excited to at least try it. This just doesn't look theatrical release quality. We have to think what "theatrical release" even means in 2024. It is mostly big budget titles at this point.
Damn you've gotten so many subs so fast.
I will give it a chance...not bad. Hard to tell with a short trailer. Low budget but i think some low budget films have better stories and acting than bigger budget films and it is about time films care about story more than agendas. I give this a 👍👍👍👍
Idc what people say, this looks good and interesting
If there is something to appreciate is that from what we already have and what were getting, there's a healthy variety of different styles to the Hellboy films from the gothic period drama by Del Toro, a violent bloodfest from Neil Marshall who might have been hired alone due to his immense talent for action horror as ever present in his film Dog Soldiers, and the horror picture were getting from half the creative team of Neveldine & Taylor who tend to honestly make pretty healthy shlock. However, only to the cost of declining quality by release. Its evident that looks on this Hellboy have not had much effort put on them, but I'm optimistic that if you get the actual creator involved in the script and someone behind the camera who has that wacky sense of style, I'll gladly watch this as some glorified fan-film. If not to enjoy whatever might have made it work or just to fall back on the sentiment that the original trilogy should had been finished.
budget is about $20 to $25 million
Really? Looks cheaper based on the trailer but we'll see.
@@GorTheMovieGodi have read the comic I can say this movie does not need a huge budget
i mean he looks comic accurate base on the design but who knows it might turn out good plus i always wanted a horror based hellboy
This has the same vibes as the graphic novels, dark just like mike mignolas art style, people need to stop being so critical, nothing will ever be the same as the original movies and that's the point, young hellboy cutting his teeth, read the books there nothing like the original 2 films, anyways this looks awesome can't wait.
The character design is absolutely atrocious and the actors eyes look too human. Just cast a bigger dude and throw some damn contacts in.
My only problem with this trailer is that Jack Casey doesn't look like Hellboy he looks like somebody who's cosplaying as Hellboy
But the makeup looks atrocious
I know 2019 Hellboy wasn't all that great but at the very least Hellboy looked menacing and it was a Hellboy focused story
The del Toro films were phenomenal but Hellboy looked way too heroic and the movie wasn't so much focused on Hellboy it was focused on the people around Hellboy.
If they're going for a more younger unless experienced version of Hellboy I can understand that.
But the least they could have done was give him his yellow eyes. Hellboy always had these reddish yellow eyes
This movie looks like the superhero version of Blood and Honey.
Just trust me the story will be way better if it follows the comic
@@horrorman-er4nk If I wanted direct-to-video Hellboy, I'd watch the animated films. I still really want to watch them.
Unrelated note: if you haven't seen it, watch _The Amazing Screw-On Head_ . It's on UA-cam and it's amazing.
Wow a another HellBoy movie and it’s insane it’s been 5 years since the last one and I did enjoy that reboot too especially Milla Jovovich was the villain in that movie and we never seen her bad before and I like her as a actress too but that’s just me though
Tubi has great films
I will say at least the industry hasn’t giving up on hellboy even though it’s seems the can’t get it right but this looks ok
Rumoured to be £20 million
New TV spot for Deadpool & Wolverine (it's okay if you want to wait)
Is that a Pigroach shirt? 🤣 *snort*
@GorTheMovieGod for something that obviously like you said looks super low budget, this honestly looks better than the David Harbour movie which, not gonna lie, had it’s moments that I thought were really fun, particularly his fight against the Baba Yaga, and even his fight against the trolls even with the obvious VFX fuck up where, the stone hand in mid fight just switches to the wrong hand for no reason.
Honestly I never noticed that and probably never would have if my uncle hadn’t pointed it out to me and I went back and watched the scene on UA-cam and noticed it.
The fight with Baba was mostly practical because the person was a skilled contortionist named Troy James
Idk about this one cuh this looks pretty mid. Trailer 2 for Trap is out btw
Everything looks great but hellboy idk why but the look is kinda meh
i just think he looks a little too human in the face
I'm a fan of the comics, I'll watch it, like I watch and like the other ones.
Eh, looks better than the last one, at least. Honestly, I don't hate this. I don't think you need a huge budget for this kind of story. I'm at least willing to give it a chance.
It looks like a Direct to DVD / TV movies from early 2000s, the lighting and atmosphere just feels flat, I've seen fan films with better production quality. The Witch movie by Robert Eggers was only $4 million and it looks so much better than this. Hopefully the next trailer will look better, and Hellboy should have yellow eyes, they could have easily given him yellow eye contacts or add the color in post.
Damn right.
I hate to say it but, Jesus Christ this looks horrendous, they really should’ve just let Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman make a 3rd movie instead of making all these Garbage Reboots.
What are you expect Hellboy look clean? He’s a demon.
@@jalontillmon2807 yeah and he looked a lot more realistic in those 2 original movies, not like some cheap cosplay outfit.
@@jalontillmon2807compared to the other first movies. This one looks so low budget 😂 it looks exactly like a fan film. It can still be decent but not as good as the old ones at all. I hope this is decent tho but how could it be with that low of a budget?!
@@kaiju115 in 2019 he looks way more realistic because he’s a demon
@@jalontillmon2807 the suit and makeup effects in that weren’t bad, too bad the movie was garbage, here he looks terrible.
Yikes he looks weird
I'll watch this, looks a lot better than whatever woke bullshits been coming out the past year
You mean years 😂 I’ll wait till the movie comes out.
