Bit of advice, don't throw away the skin. Put the skin in a pot with about 2 - 3 cups of water and you can boil and steep it to make a great pineapple drink. You can add a little ginger to the water when boiling. Just add sweetener to taste. It hurt me to see you waste so much of it. Haha. Hope you try my recipe.

@@cinderellie8 Sorry about that. You boil and let it sit and cool for about 24 hours.. Then sweeten to taste.

This is great. I just cut a pineapple yesterday with a pineapple coreer, slicer which was slightly damaged. The handle was loose. I gave up half way through & fumbled through remainder. Now I know how to do with a knife simply. Thank you.
You may want to put the core in a smoothie. I cut it & use with other fruit.

I and my friend hate cutting pineapples. We were deliberating who will cut it, and it ended up to be me because I bought it. Had to look up videos on how to cut a pineapple and this was sure the perfect video. Now we can enjoy our pineapple without much stress. Thank you 😊

Try to pluck a leaf from the top inside. A gentle tug and if the leaf comes out, it's ripe. I've used this for years and it's never failed me.

So... new method of cutting a pineapple ...and from posters below, gonna try boiling the skins for a drink, making pineapple fried rice with the core, putting the core pulp in my smoothies, and I"m sitting here thinking that the core would work well in the slow cooker with chicken. Could also food process it and freeze it in ice cube trays for later use in recipes.
That was a worthy near-midnight trip to youtube.

What waste? You eat the core too?? When most people don't. Then you can keep the core to eat if you like, instead of making these comments when someone showing some easy way of doing something that is hard.I won't be surprised if you tell you like to eat the outer part too with those prickles...
