I absolutely love the vehicular diversity that is portrayed on this channel. Johnny you and the team have really nuanced the content to engage, influence and educated a broad market and demographic. Although I am Australian and never visited the UK my general love and appreciation for classic, rally, ev's, motorcycles and collections has been enhanced. So much so it has spawned my goal to visit the UK and explore the countryside, visit some of these publicly available sites, races, meets and personalities. Thanks again for transitioning into an online streaming platform it is my go to source to relax, share and strengthen my passion.
Hey Shakey, I'm the apprentice tech at Padgett's (current off due to an injury) and I'm so jealous I didn't get a chance to be in when you visited. It's good to see the amazing bikes I work around everyday being shown off to the public.
Been there countless times. Once rocked up and chatted to clive who showed me around the worksops and incredibly saw the engine that eventually became the yzr that bruce rode at the TT. Clive remembered every detail about my mates big brother who bought a TZ 750 motor from him in the 70’s. A special motor ow31 I believe. Clive was an amazing completely grounded man to give me what would’ve been extremely valuable spare time. I absolutely love the padgett mentality and the fantastic family business they’ve built up
Fantastic a proper business that’s created unmatched loyalty from both direct family members & all those that work at Padgett’s all with one common interest for the love of motorcycles…!!!
Amazing to see guys as passionate about bikes as Shakey and Clive Padgett. Both so down to earth, with a true love of the sport. Total legends in the motorbike world 👍
And legends outside the motorbike world tbh. Source: Myself. I'm not much a motorcycle guy. I prefer cages. Bikes are fascinating as an engineering exercise and I love them like that, but I don't feel drawn towards riding one. Given enough money I would own a few motorbikes but they'd all be static displays. I'd love to hang a Black Shadow and/or a Ducati 996 on the living room wall for instance (I know, I'm a terrible person!), but I have zero desire to ride either. But the Isle of Man TT legends are all stunningly interesting people and I love the motorcycle content here for embracing the people as much as, or even more than, the bikes themselves.
Shane, I cannot thank you enough. As an Australian, we watch in wonder at the road racing and awesome circuits you have around the UK. I have followed the roads closely for decades and Padgetts is a name and family I have come to know and respect. What could I add about Clive that has not been said already. His genuine love and care for both racing and rider is very special. When Bruce Anstey rode the Padgetts bike to win the lightweight class a few years back, the way Clive has brought on Davey Todd, their success and longevity is no accident. If I get to the NW200 one day, I,ll be sure to stop in at a Padgetts dealership, hopefully one that Clive is at on the day. Thanks again Shane, great series.
Saw Bruce win his first Superbike TT on a trip from Oz to IOM in 2015. Lucky enough to meet him the evening before and have a chat and get some pics. So memorable.
I worked for a motorcycle dealership ( rob willshers Suzuki) when I left school, and I have such fond memories looking back! I loved riding all of the bikes back and fourth!! Good times
Jonny give Shakey a big fat pay rise. Wow he is the man. I was drooling from the mouth so much my wife thought I was having a stroke. Magnificent, out stand, incredible I could keep going forever with attributes about the Padgetts Motorcycle shop. Thank you for 32.46 minutes of share mind-blowing insight into a special place where dreams come true.
Nice one Shakey, another absolutely brilliant TLBS Byrne Out episode...🏍 When you saw that old Superbike tucked away in the workshop that you said you'dlike to dig out, it made me wonder if there's any room for some TLBS Bike Barn Find episodes 🤔 Love this channel and proud to be a Patreon...🎩
You know, I knew of Padgetts, as a name, from watching Isle of Man videos. I had no idea who, or what , Padgetts was. Thanks to Shakey, I now know the rich history and the wonderful story of this Family shop, somewhere in the UK, that has been such a History maker for so long! Thanks, Jonny, and Shakey, for having one of the BEST Channel's in UA-cam land!! Byrne Out Vid's are extra special to me, I love all things Automotive (Jonny's stuff) but, I am an even more avid fan of Motorcycles, of all makes and styles ( Shakey, and his racing knowledge and connections, priceless). So, Yea, if there could only be one, I choose the Late Brake Show!!
In this day and age it's wonderful to see a family run motorcycle business passed on to the next generation and carry on into the future. I spent 48 years as a mechanic in the trade and loved every day of it, although towards the end it got difficult with shops closing down and being made redundant. Congratulations to Padgetts for doing so well and indeed having a great reputation and great reputations have to be earned.
I forgot to mention that the first motorcycle shop I ever worked at which was Miles Hull Ltd bought from Padgetts a brand new Yamaha YAS1 which were a very lively 125cc 2 stroke twin cylinder machines. This particular bike was road going but kitted out with a race fairing, race tank and seat, clip on bars and rear sets, this would be at least a decade before the Dyson Kawasaki's appeared on the scene and at this time a rare item as only a hand full of shops were converting road machines into sports trim for the road, this would be early 1970's.
Wow ! This was truly friggen fantastic. If the Padgett family don’t have serious Motorcycle Magnetism then I don’t know who does. This just blew me away, the UK really is a special place for motorcycles and Motorcycle Racing !?! Seriously the only RCV 213 dealer ,WTF, this shows you how kick ass Padgetts is. I love the fact that as young kids the desire to race bikes was in the mind already 🤘🏼 so special. I always felt the same and did become a local race champion and Canada’s 1st Ducati Master Tech. Every moment of my journey I’ve been in love with it, even eating that sh** sandwich. Thank you to Shakey and Co. for bringing this killer video to life. You got me now,Subscribed !!!
I've been watching the TT and BSB from the states for many years and the name Padgetts has always been there. What a lovely video and what a great family legacy to showcase. Thanks Shakey.
Man I'm so jealous of ya'll across the pond with how much enthusiasm there is for sportbikes and sportbike racing. I live 10 minutes from some the best twisties in the country but nobody here cares about an on-camber decreasing radius corner.
Interesting watch, that's my closest bike dealers, my mt125 and my daughter's ybr125 both came from there. I remember walking around all the showrooms and being amazed at the bikes on display and tucked away in corners, not just new bikes either.
Incredible legacy. I remember watching BSB in 2012 when Padgett's stepped back up to Superbike and Ian Lowry winning at Thruxton. As Clive walked up the pitlane to Parc Ferme the outpouring of love and respect from pretty much every team owner and rider to come over and offer their congratulations was a lovely thing to see.
Great episode and credit where it's due your solo presenting has come on fantastically since you joined Johnny on the Channel and now looks like you've been doing it for years 👍👏
From seeing this video, the good thing about Padgett's is clearly the passion and the fact that they look after their staff. Look after your people and the business will look after itself. Staff retention is key to a successful business.
Whilst I’m not massively a bike fan (it’s always been 4 wheels rather than 2 for me), Shakey’s knowledge and passion makes these videos so interesting and accessible even to a ‘non-bike’ guy. Absolutely brilliant, keep up the great work!
Another fantastic episode of the Byrne Out 👍🏻 From being a 9 year old going to Snetterton 'for the 'bikes' with my father we always knew that anyone aboard a Padgetts prepared, tuned and consequently sponsored bike were pretty much guaranteed to win or place in the races we watched 😎👍🏻
Excellent Shakey!..what a wonderful place Clive is the oracle and so lovely to hear how passionate the girls are to be carrying on the family tradition...you wouldn't get me out of there never get tired if listening to Clive
Great episode of the Burnout. Please please please do a similar feature for Philip McCullen’s shop in Northern Ireland. What a set up he has. The best part is that Philip is the busiest person there. He’ll stop and talk to you all day, but in between the conversation he’s off delivering bikes in his old van or dealing with customers. You name it. What a legend and gentleman. It’s the motorcycle capital of Ireland!
Love the way Clive say us rather the me or I. 😊 Padgetts there definitely no I in team. What a fantastic video as always shakey look forward to the next one. Merry Christmas to everyone 😊
Possibly the nicest guy in motorcycle racing. Great to see Clive and family and recognize some of the bikes, especially those from the TT. Amazing video Shane :)
Awesome Shakey.. privileged to have benefited from support from Padgetts during my career solo & sidecar. Can’t wait for the next one.. happy Christmas to you & your family 👏👏👍
I work quite literally over the road from here near to the old Dixon Hall place. Great bunch of lads & lasses. Always willing to chat and explain stuff and take you through some of the stuff on show. Reccomend it to anyone wanting to have a look at some motorcycling history.
Wow, bumped into this whilst browsing and gosh took me right back to 82 and buying my RD350 LC from Gary and him giving me the once over about the bike and then me pulling the biggest wheelie down Batley road, happy days.
I am Dutch and really interested in British Motorracing following it for many years now . I am always been interested in Padgetts for the great bikes and riders they have showed for many years . Thanks Shakey for telling and showing some of there great history . I wish all people at Padgetts and Late Brake Show a Merry Christmas en a Great New Year !
Hi there, you just get better and better Padgetts unbelievable seen race over the years. Happy Christmas to you, Shakey, Johnny and all this is just brilliant . Michael
Thank you Shane Byrne & Clive Padgett for this wonderful video, Clive helped me out a bit when I raced my TZ250 way back in 1997, enabling me to win two championships & to finish second in another that season, when I raced with the BEMSEE club in 1997 Shayne Byrne had just starting racing in the 600 class 🙏💚

..that's the spirit that came over on the video of your learning- & work-space. Thx for being a part of it & get well proper 🙏🤙☀️
Clive is one of the loveliest and enthusiastic men is racing. All round top fella
I’m afraid Clive needs to open a museum with all these bikes
The passion of family run businesses are second to none,
Been there countless times. Once rocked up and chatted to clive who showed me around the worksops and incredibly saw the engine that eventually became the yzr that bruce rode at the TT. Proud to be from Batley where these guys are from and the family only lived round the corner from me!!! Brilliant to see a video on them!
I could have listened to Clive for hours and hours.....love to see further episodes with Clive...
I live 15mins from Padgetts. It’s worth the trip just to have a look round. Often see Clive walking about talking to folk. How a bike shop should be.
I hope Mr. Padgett is MOST proud of the 2 amazing daughters he raised, they seem like AMAZING women!
how did 32min46 seconds go so fast great vid can't wait for part two
What a great family, that nsr 500v is spectacular too
I'm not really too fussed by bikes but..... the enthusiasm and passion in this video is infectious
Padgett's is just down the road from me. Great showroom with so much racing history..
I loved watching this. Thankyou Johnny, Shakey and the Padgett's family
Please do more! Loved this episode
Fantastic a proper business that’s created unmatched loyalty from both direct family members & all those that work at Padgett’s all with one common interest for the love of motorcycles…!!!
Fantastic, wish this video was 3 hours long! Clive Padgett I’d an absolute gent.

I could listen to Clive padgett reading the phone dictory. A legend 👏 🙌 ❤️
Padgetts have got a great guy with davy Todd, he's got what it takes. Merry Christmas guys, total professionals.
Incredable shakey. You’re the best decision johnny has made for the channel
What a great family showing the brilliance of motorsport to every generation , keep it up from an American guy that loves bikes but never rode one.
Clive is a true legend, and nice guy too.
Outstanding loved this. That 500 would be something else to see on track in Shakey's hands.
🤯Wow! this episode was one of my favourites (until now). I absolutely enjoyed 👍🤤👍
Great to see Padgetts. A fantastic world class team from the little town of Batley.
My favourite team at the TT. Lovely stuff !
I worked for a motorcycle dealership ( rob willshers Suzuki) when I left school, and I have such fond memories looking back! I loved riding all of the bikes back and fourth!! Good times

Amazing episode. I see why Padgett's are so good.
"Padgetts" instantly made me think of the tt, great to finally know the name. Again, a most excellent episode of the late brake show👌👊
Absolutely beautiful episode. The bikes, the family, legacy and success is truly awe inspiring.
Man I'm so jealous of ya'll across the pond with how much enthusiasm there is for sportbikes and sportbike racing. I live 10 minutes from some the best twisties in the country but nobody here cares about an on-camber decreasing radius corner.
Shakey has really grown it to this presenter role, and Clive Padgett is nothing less than motorcycle royalty.
1 of the best late brake I've seen
What a great video and what a great channel. I think this is my favorite Byrne Out episode yet. Keep up the good work! 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍
Great video Shakey, proper trip down memory lane! Really glad you and Jonny teamed up.
More of this sort of thing please. This really is the best motorcycling content available.
Shakey is just brilliant……❤

Shakey is like a kid in a sweet shop! Great episode.
He got really excited by this one, right?
What an amazing episode, thanks Shakey and Padgett’s 👍🏻
What a great vid. I grew up in Batley, so i recall my Dad driving me past Padgetts a lot in the early 70s.

Padgetts've done so much for motorcycle world, they've made dreams come true! Love you Clive!
Brilliant video.. the enthusiasm of the Padgetts... Thanks Shakey

Indeed this is a top episode, you’re a good dude for highlighting this shop. Happy holidays. 🤘🔥😎🔥🤘
Thank you for watching Kenny

I can't believe how quick 30+mins just flew by. Needs to be waaay longer. More Padgetts please

Love the way Clive say us rather the me or I. 😊 Padgetts there definitely no I in team. What a fantastic video as always shakey look forward to the next one. Merry Christmas to everyone 😊
This is superb!
I'm a late-comer to the "Byrne Out" series and have to say I really love it.... there's a proper 'feeling' in these videos. Love 'em!
Another fab episode 👍 That's the kind of place you'd gravitate to, just to talk shop & chew the fat. Let alone buy anything 😁👍
Possibly the nicest guy in motorcycle racing. Great to see Clive and family and recognize some of the bikes, especially those from the TT. Amazing video Shane :)
