Funny to think about Norwegian black metal... If you looked at Scandinavia even in the early 80's, there was more happening in Sweden and even Finland than in Norway. Norway had really only one heavy metal band from the 80's that I know of, and that's Equinox. Heavy thrash, where were all the thrash bands in Norway? If you had to guess in 1985 what country would have black metal (Norway, Sweden or Finland), you'd probably guess Sweden first, or maybe even Finland since they had Sarcofagus, and even the first doom metal band Spiritus Mortis. You'd never have guessed Norway, but here we are...

At first when I heard it I thought something was wrong with the speakers or the stereo system. BTW the mix could use some reverb. If you had to guess in 1985 what country would have black metal (Norway, Sweden or Finland), you'd probably guess Sweden first, or maybe even Finland since they had Sarcofagus, and even the first doom metal band Spiritus Mortis. You'd never have guessed Norway, but here we are...

Mixing scene was hilarious. Reminds me of hearing Dark Throne's "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" which followed the more Death-Metal style Soulside Journey. At first when I heard it I thought something was wrong with the speakers or the stereo system.
BTW the mix could use some reverb. On everything -- vocals, drums, guitar and hey why not the bass too (if there's an audible bass ... )
