Correction: The Mate 50 is RM3699, not RM3499. It's still RM800 cheaper than the Mate 50 Pro. Somehow my mind got messed up 🤣

I'm actually loving the mate 50 pro design and the leather outlook, but the function of mate 50 is much more attractive as the price is cheaper, such a hard selection between this two 😢

Now I own a Mate 20, use for 4 year plus, not issue at all, if you are like me, not the photo maniac type, no need to go for Pro version, normal version is good enough, also my personal preference l like flat screen, as if watching UA-cam the eyesight more better then the curve screen 😁

I am the flat display guy. From p20 pro to iPhone 11. But I did got the curved mate 20 pro for my wife
Dam man I like Mate 50 design than the Pro ver, the front design way more better with punch hole and flat display as a bonus, I don't really care about 90hz, as long as it not 60hz then it fine, for the camera as long as they have triple useful camera (wide, ultra wide & telephoto lens) so it enough for me, just don't put useless lens like 2mp macro/ToF. The only downside for me is the screen size, I would prefer compact size like 6.2' or below. So I think I will wait for Xiaomi 13 since recent leaks shows that this model finally got flat display.

As a camera guy, I'll buy this vanilla rather than Pro easily...cos the main camera & ultrawide is 100% same as Pro... Telephoto can still be accepted

The highest spec Mate 50 Pro with kunlun glass is now priced the same as the Mate 50 on September 2023 at RM3599. I'm waiting for it to drop below RM3k before I buy it.

Kunlun version is only orange version but strongest glass ever better victus tested from yt from fillipines .But 50 pro at least in greece is over 1200 euros very expensive for none gms and 4g phone.

I prefer the Mate 50 non pro than Mate 50 pro, the quality of camera it is almost the same, they have the same procesor, has flat panel.

Another difference is 3D face scan and ToF sensor, Mate 50 starts at 128gb, Mate 50 Pro at 256gb, Mate 50 has 23mm on wide angle lens, Mate 50 has 24mm and btw the Mate 50 Pro has 4700mah. Not 4600.

I like the mate 50 non pro version. Beautiful design with flat and punch hole display. I don't care about the refresh rate. Sadly ! It still over my budget, so I just bought my self an Oppo find X3 Pro since Oppo Offer a great deal and it's Sooo cheap.

I would prefer the vegan leather, simply because it would be almost indestructible and I love the orange color, but I have to admit that the normal mate 50 is great value

Actually with that price, I could get iPhone 13 or even iPhone 14 with a little extra money.
I'm not banishing Huawei, and I'm actually a Huawei fans. I owned honor 6x, nova 2i, and p30 now.
By considering there is no 5G, and not using Kirin chips, no Google play store, and no more Leica Collab (despite DXOMark scored mate 50 pro as Top 1). It just too many compromises for me to consider Huawei nowadays..
Fun fact: the camera lens is actually a downgrade from the previous mate 40 pro. Huawei trying to use software to balance the compromise.
Unless you wait for 11.11, and it discounts up to RM 2,999.
Rm3699 is quite good price for base model Mate 50. I think u also get free smartwatch with the purchase.
Iphone 13/14 with 60hz is really a waste of money if you buy at full price. No telephoto zoom which is very important going forward. As iphone 13 pro user, I think the Mate 50 camera quality destroy the iPhone 13 series camera. Maybe video on the iPhone is better but stills camera the Huawei is better
Such a shame Huawei forced to downgrade the camera sensor and no 5G. Imagine Huawei flagship with Play Store and 1 inch IMX989 sensor with variable aperture. Thats killer

the mate 50 will sell the pro will flop because there's not much difference with the specs but mate 50 is a lot cheaper and better looking I hate the notch it's almost 2023 they've gone backwards with the design.

They're the same 13mp ultrawide. Only diff is Mate 50 Pro comes with 3D TOF sensors for biometrics hence the larger cutout. More secure for unlocking your device.
