Zhongli is like "Good day to you, I didn't see you there." And he does it *sooo* good 😆
It kinda has an authority to it or like power since he's the oldest archon it fits him alot i don't imagine zhongli doing some flamboyant stuff like the others

I mean, he is a cartographer for Eula's company. So It'd make sense that he's fiddling with a book when nothing is happening and then he's got his crossbow out the moment he's called to fight.

Alhaitham's animation is perfect for his personality, though. He always expends the minimum amount of effort required.
I get that yeah, but I would ask if they could just get a mirror next to him? it's too minimal! I like him a lot but that's a bit too much minimum effort x)

Childe is just simply my favourite. The first time I saw him in my party I was like "goddamn the cooldown is gonna be long". Hoyoverse literally missed out on making Zhongli drink osmanthus wine.

To me, the animations are as important as the final poses too and I will always relish in Lumine's smile, no matter whether her animation is boring or not.
based, I myself freaking love the traveller, they're both so pretty and whenever I use either Aether on my main or Lumine on my alt, i genuinely cannot look away lol. They make me hypnotized,,,

I have to admit that since Hoyo updated this part, it looks a lot more fun and not as boring as before.

They did Beidou so dirty I'm actually mad about it. She's genuinely one of the coolest characters in the game, she's the Captain of the Crux, a badass who killed a sea monster and a character with an amazing design and grat personality. So much wasted potential! Even reusing her idle would've been better than whatever she got.

And i believe they made alhaitham basic on purpose since that's just what type of person he is he does the bare minimum at most and just doesn't wanna be there
What i love about this is they're referencing the poses from the old Drip Marketing in the past. Back when they drip market a character, there's a 2 variation of the art. One you see in social medias, one is the Gacha Splash Arts. They stopped doing this since Eula's reveal (Hu Tao is the last one to get one)
Xiao and Fischl's final pose is a direct reference of his Drip Market, and Zhongli is referencing his pose from 1.1's wallpaper. Ganyu is double, she started off with her Splash Art and then turns into her Drip Marketting pose

What’s weird to me is the inconsistency with characters that have summonable “spirits”. Fischl doesn’t get Oz, but Gorou gets his little dog. Beidou could have gotten her Ult spirit ring, but it’s just her turning around.
I know people said that Alhaitham's was very in-character and while I do agree, they could have at least spiced it up by adding effects related to his skills, etc.
I think when it comes to characters like him or Xingqiu or Zhongli, they could have done more with their entrance and then their actions after can just stay as they are now. That would have at least been better imo.
Hu Tao's, Yoimiya's, Scara's, Ei's, the twins, Childe's, and Kokomi's are SSS tier for me
Alhaithem D -> low B (fits his character with doing minimum)
Xingqiu C -> high B/low A (perfect for him, very noble)
Noelle C -> A (she's so polite she's the only one that actually greets us)
Rosaria S -> low B at best (it's just so boring, she has so cool fighting style and her animation is just fliping a knife while she could have sth like Xiangling but with knife)
Mika low B -> high B/low A (I love how he just reads and quickly swaps to crossbow like he just saw sth and is always on guard)
also would move Yae and Zhongli to high S - Zhongli very fiting, very noble and stoic, and Yae for doing fox gesture with her hand

Rosaria literally has an idle where she spins a dagger and its cooler than that animation
Alhaitham's fits hus character so so well. Like yeah its not exciting or flashy so i understand the low rank, but Hoyo didn't "do him dirty" at all imo - they made an animation to fit his personality. The likes of Kaeya and Traveller were "done dirty" because a flashier animation would have suited them. Traveller's should have included Paimon imo, for example.
Yee, some of these rankings (and animations) don’t make sense. I would’ve loved to have seen Alhaitham’s Dendro leaf-shard things or maybe some floating glyphs, tho. Sure, he’s not breaking down doors to announce his presence, but a little extra something would’ve been neat.
I think those animation really fit those character, like dehya, she mercenary who punch, and aloy, even basic one but based on her personality it match her
I love that Xiangling did a cartwheel in her animation introduction!❤️
I think Dehya's would have been nice if she appeared from the top and kicked the ground (like at the end of her ult). The one now is... underwhelming, I even would have preferred one of her idles-😂😂😂
I think the beginning animation of her ult would have been perfect, like she's fired up and ready to throw hands at the select screen
Just chaining her skill animation to what's already here would have been so good
It's the ending animation of her third NA actually.
as a xingqiu main i'm quite satisfied with his animation. the hand behind his back? the way he turns? the slow sureness of his movements? elegance. style. class. his and zhongli's are some of my favorites of the animations for that reason. (not the best, but high up there)
they make alhaitham look underwhelming in comparison. simplicity is no bad thing but it feels incomplete. why does he just stand there?? he could've at the very least crossed his arms or something but he just goes 🧍♂️ when from the way he moved it looked like he'd do more than that. it's similar to mika's, except he doesn't have his equivalent of mika pulling out the crossbow. it stll fits his character but they could've done better for sure
The main reason my favorites are Kaeya, Albedo and Lisa is because of the way their eyes snap and lock right with the player the last second. It startles me every time and snaps my attention right to them
Okay, so I main Xinyan. That isn’t one of her idles. It’s similar, but not the same. I, for one, squealed when I saw it. I think it’s absolutely adorable.
I'm honestly heartbroken. This feature took up so much space on my phone, but I don't even get to see the animations.. the characters just spawn in without them 💀

Nilou should be with Koko sss tier they're so elegant and so attractive to look at, very beautiful and smooth
The thing with these animations is they have to be in sync with their char. So many are simple for char like zhongli and alhaitham
I thought Alhaitham's was fitting in a way because of course he's not going to bother himself with making a show. Even his voicelines when you put him on the team suggest he'd rather be doing anything else.
I can't unsee Yae doing the "Kon" sign with her hand. Makes sense since she's a Kitsune and Aki has a pact with the Fox devil
I actually unironically LOVE Alhaitham's, it fits his personality perfectly and that's imo more importang than flashiness.
i feel like everyone is expecting all characters to have super epic explody animations. When the animations fit their personality perfectly well.

They don't really need something flashy and explosive, but I feel for some characters they could have at least added some sparkles or special effects related to their skills.

honestly can’t believe some ppl got disappointed over _basically_ a second idle animation, like srsly? alhaitham’s was literally one of my favs (and he isn’t even my favorite character) mainly cuz it’s so relatable. he was like, “oh? it’s time to work already? ugh fine” 😂

I personally really like the John Li one because it fits his character really well.
I hope they add more background locations based on where we are. For example in Mondstadt's ice mountain. And hopefully with enough feedback they might improve or upgrade many animations.
Razor is my favorite so I also hope to see the wolf bedind him.

Xiangling deserves the highest tier, hers is actually one of the best (and unexpected).

One thing i do love for the animations is that, most characters that have an item or tool they use for their abilities, tend to feature it in their animation. Like Yanfei, Xiangling, and Mika.

The thing that bug me out after a while is that they didn't blink unlike the previous version. Kinda scary the longer i see it

i highly doubt it, but i hope they will update / improve the ones like Dehya in the future, i feel like they were going in the right direction with hers, just needed a bit more flair and energy.
And although ones like Alhaitham"s and Xingqiu"s animations is in character, you can"t deny that there isn"t much going in their animation. like say for example, if Alhaitham"s animation was him seating down, a book in his hand, his other hand on his chin, as his eyes scans through a page, he notices he"s been chosen, stands up from his chair as he closes his book and strikes a casual pose.
Now, whether or not you like my example is not important, my point is they could / could have done something like that and it still would have been in character for him, so i hope they come back to these animations one day.
I loved Bennett’s.
Sure, he’s like a son to me, I love and accept him and his animations the way they are.
But the main reason is the story behind the pose:
The rock comes somewhere from our direction, as if we were the ones who threw it, and what my boy does is turn around and stand in a fight pose. Angry Bennett is something I didn’t know I needed to see. I know it’s probably not exactly as I described, but still, it looks like it, and that makes me happy)
The thing about Bennet stan is that if Bennet isnt META none of you guys would even like him at all.

I just…I just get this feeling, like I’m one of his fathers, like he’s so cute and pure, and positive and he comes back home everyday, and these grown-up adventures have been bullying him again and I wanna protect him and…He’s just adorable okay? I feel the similar thing for Mika and Chongyun, and Klee, it’s just that the bad luck attire makes me empathize with Benny more. The thing is, he’s a great character, who also happens to be one of the greatest units in this game as well.
@@prophetmuhammad3890 sorry but that's not true. not even close. for most of my two years playing genshin benny was NOWHERE in my roster (i only started building him recently for my lyney) but i still loved him because he's an angel. the light of my life. the best person in teyvat. keeps getting done dirty but does he let that hold him back?? the awful luck and the unkindness from everyone around him for having that luck when he's just trying his best to live life and reach his dreams??? people shun him for bringing his misfortune wherever he goes but they don't bother to consider how HE HIMSELF has to deal with such unnecessary setbacks, whether there's others around him or he's all by himself. and yet he's still so kind even to the same people who hurt him, he still keeps a smile on his face no matter what. he's so good and the world doesnt deserve bennett genshin impact. truly an inspiration to us all.
anyway. even if i don't use him very often i'm still happy he gets love from being meta. i'll always be proud of him for being one of the strongest supports in the game. but that's far from the reason i love him so much

12:21 I think Alhaitham's animation matches with his party setup voice well. "Yes?", "How long will this require, exactly?" etc. It's like he was reading a book until we called him and now he's like "Do I really have to go? I was reading an interesting book."

Alhaitham's animation may be boring but it is SO in character. He is merely a feeble scholar, he loves reading and he always makes the least effort possible. His idle couldn't have been anything but this
In can be in character and still be cool. One doesn't have to exist without the other.

I love that he's reading a book. But I still feel the anim is lacking character. If he'd given a little sigh (giving the feeling of "Do I have to help you out again?"-kinda sigh) or something a bit more unique to him I'd absolutely have loved it. As it is, it's kinda bland, even considering Alhaithams character.
My guy really put Yanfei and Thoma below Xingqiu 💀. Off to a terrible start

As a Gorou main, I’m glad he didn’t get treated as bad as some other characters
I like Laylas and Lisa’s the most, they have really cool end stances as well as animations. Also albedos looks pretty but he’s always pretty

Watching itto’s animation carefully shows that he did that on impulse cause he follows the club to make sure it lands on his shoulder

I agree with the ranking but at the end you bumped down Xiangling and Layla by adding chars to the front of S tier and i think they both deserve top S tier by just how on point and unique their animations are.

well i kinda see them as the character is so i do not really mind them. Alhaitham and Xingque might be boring but it is there personality and im glad they kept that,

Luckily all of my favourite characters: Nahida, Kokomi, Klee, Yoimiya, Ayaka, Kazuha all got very good animations! (Unlike your Diluc and Alhaitham lol)
I wish for Bennett they made him swinging his sword but then messes up and drops it on the ground and then scratched his neck like “woops my bad”

p.s. Al Haitham and Diluc are made so you don't let them leave the team not to watch those animations :D
Alhaitham got a whole model made for him but has an entry animation at the level of a two star weapon...
My favorites would still be Kazuha, Yoimiya, Klee, and a few others. Simple, yet elegant, and a welcoming sight to my sore eyes.
You'll have no idea how much I squealed when I saw Yoimiya swinging into the screen with her fireworks 😂 My utmost gratitude to Hoyo for not doing her animations dirty.
2:09 this is the same potion she's working on in one of her idle animations. Who knows what it does but clearly she's learned a reflex to avoid having to smell it when it explodes for the 500th time
The way the archins acc have small effects at their feet with their animations is adorable you can see flowers for nahida, wind for venti and electro for raiden idk abt zhongli he was just done dirty

One thing to keep in mind for these animations is that they probably want to avoid giving characters persistent elemental effects. They currently reserve those kinds of effects for archons, and likely want to avoid any confusion that persistent elemental effects would have on that.
13:28 I expected Xiao to be lower but I'm happy Bran likes his animation 😭 as a Xiao main I expected more, for example something to do with his karmic debt being an adeptus and all but he just appears out of thin air lol (it really suits his in-game character though)
