The Masquerade reprise with the music box will NEVER fail to make me cry. Somehow those few seconds perfectly sum up that quiet, sinking feeling of knowing something's over forever. I don't cry at a lot of things, but, that is the ONE thing that can bring tears to my eyes. I can't even sing the "Christine I love you" part to myself without my voice shaking.
@@helanagleave5068 It makes Christine fully understand also. When she turns back to give him the ring, she is standing there the whole time when he sings masquerade. She finally understands the phantoms pain to its full potential
EthalaRide And a comment pointed out that he whispers "now" when shes crying and AGHHH HE JUST WANTED HER TO LOVE HIM AND HE DIDNT WANT HER TO BE SAD *I agree. just kill me.*
Am i the only one whose heart is touched by Raoul's whispering "I'm here" after he runs to Christine and hugs her? Also, a lot of people say that Hadley Fraser made them like Raoul. Well, of course, he did, he's Hadley Fraser, but I liked Raoul's character from the very beginning (even though Hadley's Raoul is definitely the best) so i kinda have an inverse situation. I've never liked the character of Phantom, i've never even felt sorry for him, because whatever his sad story is, he's a murderer and a maniac, but... damn it, Ramin! Do i even need to explain what has changed? Anyway, all three of them are amazing! They are equals in acting and singing, which is rare and wonderful! Best cast of the best musical ever!
Wow. Ramin's "You alone....." to the last note of "...night"....every single note and vowel is so incredibly pure, whole, and perfectly articulated. His diction and intonation is truly fantastic, something I was admiring throughout the show, but he really completely shattered that ending (in an awesome way). I've never heard Ramin or Sierra before this last weekend, but I'm convinced both are the best I've heard in these roles, especially together.
Oh my at around 12:19-12:20, I can hear Ramin whisper "now.." in between her sobs, as if he's consoling her while she's crying and now I'm crying too.. 😢😢😢
This is the best cast to ever play Eric, Christine and Raoul, all of them have such raw emotion and pure voices. I dare say their even better than the original cast.
I literally sobbed from the reprise of all I ask of you to the very end. When he beg/sings 'I gave you my music' I'm putty in his hands. It doesn't feel natural that someone's voice could be so beautiful.
I absolutely love this recording, what a privilege to be able to hear the different "versions" of parts of the 25th anniversary which were not on the DVD. Love the inflections Ramin has in his voice in some of these parts. Do you perhaps have more of the audio from songs of one of the other 2 performances they did for the 25th? Would love to hear "the mirror" or "the point of no return" for example!!
I LOVE the way he screams at the end. So emotional. So powerful. I wish I could find the video clip, to watch him bare all his emotions in this moment. It's mesmerizing and beautiful. Definitely made him my favorite Phantom.
I watched the play over the weekend and the emotion overall 😭 I teared from the movie but the theatrical show especially seeing Christines’ face so sad with the Phantoms’ voice made me cry so much! Poor Phantom didn’t know how to convey love and just never felt it his whole life. If he’d never killed I definitely would’ve chosen him
9:54 - 10:46 OMG This is so sad!!! I was utterly shocked and now I am crying!! D'X This was so heartbreakng of how The phantom lets Christine go when he just met his passionate act in his life, and Ramin portrayed that part perfectly Ramin, you are one of the Best Phantom there ever was!!!
this is not the unedited version of the 25th anniversary performance, this is simply a recording of one of the other two performances. for the 25th anniversary, there were three performances. the dvd version was the second performance i believe. this must be either the first or last.
People say Michael Crawford is the best Phantom, but I heard his recording of the final lair on UA-cam and it just didnt live up to Ramin's emotion. Sure Crawford is very good, but he's good in different ways. Crawford is kind of a spooky phantom but Ramin takes the emotion to a whole new level, is genuinely terrifying, and captures the pain behind Erik's character.
I agree, Ramin’s a better Phantom than Michale. I’m not saying Michael’s bad, I just think Ramin’s voice is better suited for the character of Erik (the Phantom) because his voice is intriguing and even soothing but can also be intimidating and even outright terrifying. (Ramin has the best evil laughs I’ve heard) While Michael’s voice isn’t bad I just think it’s too soft (it’s not intimidating) for a character like Erik, I feel Michael’s voice is better suited for a funny character.
I love how in the 25th Anniversary version with the All I Ask Of You reprise they have Christine sing the first part to the phantom on the staircase before Raoul comes in and leads her away. Hits different like that.
Can you upload the 'All I Ask of You Reprise' and 'Wandering Child...' of this version pls? I can't find any 25th anniversary ORIGINAL SOUND TRACKS, which are quite different from the ones that had been editted and dubbed on the DVDs and CDs currently out there.
Still convince it's the unedited version cause in the DVD version there is no echo from the microphones. Also there use to be videos and audio clips up of the the 25th Anniversary DVD before audio editing was done.
leciel Well if there were two more performances then it makes sense this sounds different. Probably they used parts from the three shows to make the final cut for the DVD. Josh Rodis Maybe the microphones were also recording the audio alone. Not sure if that's possible though lol. What you're both saying makes a lot of sense tho.
My brother and I went and saw the phantom of the opera when it came to Oklahoma last year and I started crying and my brother was laughing at me! So, I told him he had no heart.
Can we talk about how shaky and violent and just sorta bad Ramin sounds until that heavenly "Night" at the end? I don't understand. (Do not take this as hate I absolutely adore Ramin)
everyone is going to hate me for saying this but as much as i love this i still prefer colm and rebecca caine from the canadian cast but definetly prefer hadley to whoever that guy was on that cast
Its a beautiful song and all, but... This version sounds like they are all trying to sing through a fan. except instead of singing they are constantly screaming
Christine's last one was morning and the phantoms last word was night. Mg heart just broke into a million pieces
Carlos German I never noticed that!?!? Nooooooo

I just realized that now.

Firespork I have never actually cried during the scene, but few Phantoms bring me very close. Ramin is definitely one of them.
I cry at this scene every time
I agree I always cry at that part because I find that the phantom obviously relates to masquerades lyrics about hiding

Best Final Lair ever, shows how truly unhinged and insane the Phantom became after all those years of abuse as a child.

Heard freaking overtones because of how in tune Ramin was in the end. Goodness gracious that's incredible

This is the best cast to ever play Eric, Christine and Raoul, all of them have such raw emotion and pure voices. I dare say their even better than the original cast.
Phantom is so amazing that you don't need to see what's going on to start crying....this audio was enough to fail my waterproof mascara...
I'm just nicknaming this 'When Enjolras got fed up with Grantaire's arguing'
"Of this angel in hell!" Uhg, that gave me chills! I could hear the pain in that scream.
Hearing Ramin cry at 10:47 just fucking shatters my heart and stomps on the pieces. Absolutely powerful acting.
I literally sobbed from the reprise of all I ask of you to the very end. When he beg/sings 'I gave you my music' I'm putty in his hands. It doesn't feel natural that someone's voice could be so beautiful.
It's fine, Ramin.. I didn't need my heart anyways..
Right!
Down once more to the dungeon of my black despair...
Down we plunge to the prison of my mind...
Down that path into darkness deep as hell!
That "Angel in hell" scream is so full of pain. Amazing
"Christine, why?" ... it was a punch in the gut... poor Erik : ' ' ' ' ' (

I think its just out of emotion, the phantoms all have to sound very dramatic, mostly bc they can't rely on facial expressions as much.
