wow and eternal wow...when you mix jazz with funk like this guy do. Pure joy!
No, you don’t have to be old to appreciate jazz, especially when it’s played as well as this. And Marcus doesn’t just play, he brings that bass to life!
Dude, you can react to Marcus Miller all the time and I'll watch. There's a live performance of the David Sanborn band in 1985, filmed in black and white. I recommend it highly, not only for Marcus but also that whole band was tight, tight, tight; like, Hiram Bullock on guitar. The whole show is called 'Love and Happiness' and is about 45 minutes. It's on UA-cam. It accompanied his live album released at the time, 'Straight To the Heart'; an album that should be a crime if you don't have it
Absolutely!!!!
Catch him with David Sanborn on Run For Cover
So happy you are expanding your horizons to Jazz. Now I would recommend the Master Victor Wooten
Enjoying high quality music doesn’t mean you’re old 😁👍🏽
I saw Marcus first with Miles Davis in 81, at the Kool Jazz Fest, in Atlanta, and two times with Daivd Sanborn! He,s Bad ass!@😊😊
If you like this music it doesn’t mean you’re old, it means you are open minded and appreciate the talent that other genres have to offer. I wish more “old” people like you appreciated Marcus and his contemporaries. Loved watching you groove out to this tune. A great choice. 🔥
I've been listening to all types of music since 1964! You;re never too old to enjoy greatness! Peace.
Thank you for this little taste of Paradise.
YO!! Marcus Miller. Damn, i been obsessed with this song for the last month and a glhalf, after a shameful number of years between listens. I had this track on repeat an entire flight from NV to Boston two days ago....
This is iconic.
I just been rolling thru your videos, man...still on west coast time, unable to sleep. You got a sub out of this reaction alone.
My other favorite bass man: Mark King. You need to do "Love Games" Level 42 LIVE VERSION ('84 Rockpolast or '99 Grupo Mark King or '01)
I just b
You're not old, you just enjoy raw talent! Nothing wrong with that!
I was 17 when I started down the Marcus/jazz fusion path in ‘82. You can be any age.
Marcus Miller best basses maybe ever
Need to hit up some Victor Wooten next!
The man is a beast and has been for years. Truly an inspiration to many. I've always enjoyed him through the years and seen him play with so many amazing musicians. Victor Wooden , Jeff Berlin and of course the one the only..... Jaco pastorius! Jaco is the greatest bassist to play. Had a short life but made such an impact that his music is in school's across the country. No body did that. And if you want more of this music, look no further than "Russ Freedman and the Rippintones". Your welcome Polo and thank you for everything bro!
Don’t forget Stanley Clarke ! Or Joe Dart in Vulfpek. Or Bootsy or henrik from dirty loops, brothers Johnson, I could go on and on
hes ridiculously gifted.
insightful comments. great reaction.
My guy!
Welcome to the rabbit hole that Marcus opens up 👍. Bass-driven jazz-funk is such a unique genre.
This guy is a legend, from Tool to Marcus Miller
Saw him in Fort Worth, TX; for this particular project. He was FIRE!!!! He came out about 45 minutes late, and didn't even say one word. He just started playing. Instant forgiveness!
Haven't seen you reacting to Angelina since 'My Funny Valentine'.
You know she loved Amy Winehouse and did 1/2 a dozen covers of Amy's including 'Valerie'.
Here it is. 'Valerie'. ua-cam.com/video/sqmJLkgk2Ik/v-deo.html on Venice beach with little sister backup dancer!
But you have to check out something more recent which is even more powerful and more beautiful if you can believe that. Her recent cover of Elvis Presley.
‘Suspicious Mind’ Elvis Presley ua-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/v-deo.html July 20, 2022
You will not be disappointed as if you ever have been. Love The Barefoot Princess of Jazz. ♥👣👸🏻🎷
A couple of bass players to check out, Jaco, Victor Wooten, Charles Berthoud.
Even his version of Papa Was A Rolling Stone is amazing
Since you're doing some older music reactions, I highly suggest taking a listen to an artist who flew under the radar (unless you were a fellow musician), the legendary Rory Gallagher. Mick Jagger wanted him as the replacement in the Stones when Mick Taylor left (but he was too good to play second fiddle to Keith) and his fans include Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Marr and Brian May. Try listening to "Who's That Coming" off the Irish Tour '74 recording with its 10 blistering minutes of the finest blues/rock guitar ever committed to vinyl. Your will not be sorry!
Obadiah Parker: Hey Ya Cover
You really have to react to Victor wooden the lesson promo for amg pickups, unreal
3 Deuces is another great track from the same album
He does a sick a$$ cover of Hendrix's Power of Soul, def worth a listen just for the sake of hearing it. I got turned on to it from a radio show, so not sure if there's even a video to react to...but at the very least, just do it for yourself!
Mr Polo I have been watching your reactions for some time and it's quite apparent that you have developed a new appreciation to the world of music. Next galaxy over you can find A Funky Thide Of Sings if you give Billy Cobham your ears to play into try this out ua-cam.com/video/fDB6AHcjajQ/v-deo.html
he will love cobham
ya can't hold no pocket if you ain't got no groove
I have a reaction request…how about Cakra Khan doing the cover , iris by goo goo dolls or his version of Tennessee whiskey 😊
Not bad. I've never heard of this band either. This is a chill/lay back down and have a nice 🥃👍. Sorry y'all, no beer 🍺 or wine 🍷 with this one.....A nice Scotch or Whiskey on the rocks will do 😌😳🤔😌☺️.
Google songs Marcus Miller has played on.... You won't believe how long this dude has been playing.
Marcus has been around since the late 70s producer, composer and a pioneer on the the bass his tone is legendary ...he pushes the limits on contemporary jazz and his band members tend to change over the years but whomever plays with him are top notch musicians capable of playing anything
Nah good music is good music ...period this is contemporary jazz and Marcus brand of jazz is funk/fusion based so its not that light weight mellow contemporary jazz u hear on the radio and besides...jazz is responsible for funk and hip hop
Are ya old or are ya grown ???
Why did you watch this...
In the time you could have listened too 4 *ap downloads off the internet all sounding the same...
With no musicians involved...🤡
translator on aisle 3
Could you do Jamie Johnson. Can't cash my checks. Or Should have seen it in color. Ty
