I went to Ed’s concert in Denver 2023… after a 2 hour lightning delay.. and noted the record breaking crowd at Empower Stadium. He came on stage looking locked and loaded.🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶❤❤❤❤ it was beyond fabulous. He is extremely talented and humble. A beautiful soul.
I had no idea Ed Sheeran is such a cool dude. I had to conclude that after listening to the other parts already uploaded. Really appreciated his questions to Conan as well.
I like that Ed is not full of himself! And I like that even though he would like to meet people he considers his heroes, he doesn't want to meet them under contrived conditions.
@@elevatedreamHonestly him being self-deprecating about his guitar playing makes me feel better because he's way better than me at the level that he's at but he makes it seem relatable to just play what gets the sounds out that you'd like to hear and sing to and not everyone can be or wants to be at a virtuoso level.
The Stevie Wonder tribute is literally performance GOLD, Beyonce & Ed, with Gary Clark 😩 was so damn amazing, also love the perfect duet, never thought Ed and Beyonce would blend together so seamlessly!

We need more of these conversations with Ed Sheeran, he has seen so much and is actually a great storyteller in these interviews. Waiting for his Movie (8 mile style) and his book, maybe I'm lucky and both is coming one day :)
Man, Conan is the best! I’ve been a fan since he debuted in the early 90’s. It’s sad he don’t have a show anymore, but as long as he still puts himself out there- I’m gonna be there!
Damn, there is not a bad clip of interaction between Conan and Ed, every clip they release is very well cut and placed, plus the interaction is so organic and natural, it has been a long time since I saw Conan in an interview that was so fluid, really a quality interviewee with his feet on the ground, and you can also see that he is very comfortable, in fact I have never seen an interview with Ed where he seems so comfortable, with Howard Stern I felt the interaction was very forced and mechanical (it's always how If he said: I know a lot of artists blah, you're one more, let's continue with the pattern of questions and let the next one come), I've never seen a genuine connection and interaction like it is with Conan, you can see how they both feel mutual respect and are interested in what Everyone says, it's not a simple forced question and answer with many awkward silences, to the point that Sona and Matt don't have time to intervene because the entire interaction is very fluid, fantastic interview, my favorite of the last chapters.
as a german i don't get american late night shows at all because everything feels so scripted, artificial and weird and totally different from the television formats we're used to. so i admittedly never was a fan of conan in his late night days. yet, these podcast snippets and the stuff i've seen in which he spoke to the guys from nirvana and other musicians mostly is defo the best - and x or better - version of conan from my perspective which makes me wanna check out more. the deep conversation format suits him well.
I like seeing Conan actually speaking and thinking from the heart. Not trying to be funny, or get people to laugh, but to see the realness coming from him. We are so used to seeing him reading cards, or improving, or reading a teleprompter, we associate everything as scripted. Even when he is doing interviews. But when he just takes a deep breath and says what he is thinking and feeling is when it’s golden.
Just wanted to agree with Ed - Van Morrison's Moondance is a PERFECT album. Literally perfect. Followed closely by Magic Time, in my opinion. I would absolutely crap myself if Van Morrison wanted to have breakfast with me - what a great experience that must have been
It is easy to see Conan as a silly sort of comedy, like his characters and dance/flailing. Beyond that he is also one of the greats at dead pan delivery. I would even say exceeding Leslie Nelson because 90% of what Conan does is improv.
That Stevie Wonder tribute performance and the House of the Rising Sun cover at the NO Jazz Fest are the two greatest live performances of the modern day that aren't concerts. Third place is everything else Bey has ever done live.
I'm not necessarily a big fan of his music - just not my style - but boy, does he have a great mind set. such a cool dude and seemingly still so humble and just enjoying his time and all the crazy and interesting stuff coming with it - grateful and never expecting.
I too have an Al Gore story. I attended a luncheon for 9/11 first responders in the D.C. area and Al Gore was he keynote speaker. At the end of the event we were told to stay until he departed. After his speech he was working his way through the crowd shaking hands on his way out. I was in my Navy dress blue uniform and had a bad head cold. As the crowd parted and he stepped in front of me I felt a sneeze coming on. As I reached for the Kleenex in my uniform jacket breast pocket, several Secret Service agents hands immediately went into their jackets presumably for their guns. When my hand came out with a wad of Kleenex they all relaxed. I believe I was almost shot by the Secret Service that day due to a cold!
Ed Sheeran has just given a master class here as to how everyone should try to emulate his cool approach to meeting celebrities, they don’t need to hear how you are their biggest fan, treat them with respect if they look like they could do with some quiet time then just nod and leave them alone, no selfie or demand for autographs and if you push it, it just isn’t cool and it just proves you are a jerk.
Went to the Detroit show with Eminem and heard we set noise records at Ford Field! We were right by the secret door where he was snuck in and was absolutely blown away! So amazing!! 🧡
Wow, Damian Rice was the reason for him to start Songwriting? He is a great musician - maybe Ed can make a song or two with Lisa Hannigan now? Would be great.
I've heard him talking about Moondance before and when the lawsuit against "Thinking Out Loud" was proceeding, I thought it sounded more like "Crazy Love" than "Let's Get It On."
Honestly this guy.....he is my age and I feel so "dirty" listening to him 😅 He is so wise, anything what comes out of his mouth is just smart, kind, make bloody sense even if he uses the f* word lol, it's still super cool!! 😂 If he says his mum is saint than he inherited a lot from her ❤
The ONLY and I mean ONLY album I paid for as a card carrying member of the Napster/Limewire generation was “Steal This Album” from System of a Down! Just because they named it so.
3:31 - Sheeran is dead wrong, it was not the price. People don't want to pay for what they perceive that they don't have to (even 1 penny, Columbia House!). Without music piracy, the singles digital sales market would not have happened and Spotify and Pandora and even UA-cam playlists would not be that big of a thing. Movie piracy - VHS to VHS copying from Wherehouse (not a misspelling) and Blockbuster rentals happened before Macrovision would "brown" the image. Then a cheap TBC would remove the embedded macrovision. So people would rent a tape once, copy it, then ship the copies all over the place. This included INSIDE THE F'ING POST HOUSES!! I would record the radio to a cassette in the 80s and it would be my mix tape. I always thought "Working For a Livin'" by Huey Lewis' big pause had someone saying "Slap me now" in it for like 10 years because the DJ decided to say that while it was playing. So when MP3's came along and music piracy was easier than ever, then that's why they would do it. When torrenting happened for video (still happening!!!), people would put up with the porn streams just for the chance at getting Dune 2 for free. I kid you not, Piracy is what lowered the standard of quality of consumer video delivery. SVOD availability dropped the number of people pirating, but not by a ton (VCD's in Downtown LA? Oh yeah!!).
I’m not sure the logic about the quality of songs going up stands today because there are so many releases. Music today is the worst it’s ever been. There were filters years ago, and we now realise they were there for a reason. You have to do the hard yards, learn and I’m prove and then you get noticed for the talent you have.

Just watched that Stevie Wonder performance with Beyonce and started crying. Holy crap. THAT was an amazing performance.
Among the greatest collaborations in recent music and television history, the combined skills and talent: astounding!
He really did a great job on “Made to Love Her” too. If you saw the whole show I think he did “Superstition” with Stevie as well.
I remember that one. That’s when I first saw him. Great performance.
i've seen that Ed & Beyonce duet performed Master Blaster, it was phenomenal.
Ed is such an inspiration and has the most contagious spirit! He loves his fans and gets right in their lives with them.
That surprise that you get to be around people you admire professionally is humility. Never lose your humility.
Ed looks like a Conan’s nephew. 😂
The Irish genes are strong in these two.
They discussed this in another segment
“A” Conan or “THE” Conan?
He probably is

Ed's alright too
Conan is the best modern late night host we could've gotten
Modern late night host? As opposed to, what? Medieval late night host? Iron Age late night host?
All late night is modern.
@cleverusername9369 As apposed to the carson era for example....
Late night TV's gain was The Simpsons' loss.
that man is truly a joke machine🤣🤣🤣

Ed could have his own talk show…..he’s awesome at this
That was a good clip. I know other people have said it before but I wish that Conan was still "on the tv." (said like Bob Dylan in my head)
