Many fragrances in my collection are vintage - Solely because I enjoy the journey each scent takes me on. They really don't make fragrances the same these days, If I should be completely honest. My favorite vintage fragrance in my collection is Elizabeth Arden Blue Grass. It was my paternal Gradmother's signature scent, and I wear it in honor of her since she passed before I was born (and it's such a beautiful scent). Other favorites in my collection are Tabu, Youth Dew, Coty Emeraude, Revlon Ciara, Jontue, and Halston. I ordered a bottle of Je Reviens this morning, along with Myurgia's Maja - so I'm definitely excited to have those classics in my collection!
WOW! You have some truly VERY vintage fragrances! I have seen Blue Grass on websites like FragranceX.com and have been tempted to get it since it has a clove note. Is the clove very detectable? I love clove! Thanks for your comment...love hearing about your vintages!
@@thecuriousperfumer When I wear blue grass, the lavender and aldehydes are the most prominent in the first spray. Those two create a powdery, dry, somewhat sweet blend. After that, it softens and the clove and carnation balance it out. It really settles into a scent I can only classify as a really nice vintage soap. Quite beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely collection! Looking forward to checking out more videos on your channel!
Great collection! Halston is my daily scent and my personal favorite. Youth Dew is also amazing! I’ve never heard of Blue Grass, so I need to check that out!
Wow, you and I have almost exact taste in fragrance! Halston, Cabotine and Paloma, my 3 favorites. I have been wanting to try AE and Cabochard, haha. Almost eerie!
The oldest fragrance I have is EL's Tuscany Per Donna. I bought it when it first came out in 1992. I used to wear Lou Lou too! :) Ah, memories! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Christie O Tuscany!! That one was pretty strong as well if I remember correctly. My MIL is trying to find Ambush 🤣 SOOOOOO vintage! Thanks for watching!
In my 80´s-90´s collection, I love Eden from Cacharel, Carolina Herrera de EDP ...love love love...it´s been reformulated though due to the new rules.....but you can still get the idea, though they are not atomic bombs like they used to be.....the Mans version was also a fave of mine back in the day.....Lancome Poeme...is another classic....Givenchy Amarige, Hot by Benetton was also a must back in the day.....Guy Laroche Fidji....I stole from my Moms collection hahahaha......Boucheron´s are also cult favorites...Joop Le Bain, Alfred Sung for Woman, wonderful til nowadays.....Paloma Picasso, Salvador Dali and of course Lolita Lempicka just to name some of the most hyped back in the day in my country Chile!!!
Thank you very very much for posting this! I tend to collect vintage fragrance just simply for the sake of preservation... Of course I wear and enjoy many of them but some of them I don't think I've ever heard of ( and wouldn't EVER wear and probably most of us haven't or wouldn't LOL but they are nice little snapshots of what history was when those fragrances were produced and maybe even popular... Thank you again so so much! A great start to my day! Just as a quick little side note I still remember the commercial for Enjoli..." I can bring home the bacon, duh nah nah nant, fry it up in a pan, duh nah nah nant, and never never never, let you forget you're a man! ENJOLI !".... Too funny hahaha!
Nice ones!!! I have always heard of Blue Grass but I have yet to smell it. The others you mentioned are real winners!! Thanks for watching and for commenting ♥️
I wear Royal Secret also the original non clear glass bottle of Emeraude. Discontinued Intrigue cologne by Mary Kay Another LouLou ,,Spectacular by Joan Collins. Original Basic Instinct by Victoria Secret.
Intimate perfume, by Jean Phillipe. Very cheap, but it smells very expensive. A very age appropriate scent, for the mature woman. It's one of my favourite fragrances. I also love, and wear Madam Rochas.
Great video. I just bought a 2006 miss Dior Cherie!! I have an old Ma Graffe by Carven that we got in the 90’s at a yard sale and I absolutely love it!!!
Blue Waltz used to gag me as a child Evening in Paris was not so bad. Chantilly, Heaven Scent & Windsong remind me of childhood neighbors & babysitters
Lots of old perfumes remind me of my mom & great grandmother, she was stuck on 20 Carats for a long time. Mom went from My Sin & Arpege to a long spell of KIKU until MaGriffe took over. Also a spell of Canoe for men
I have a tabu from the 40s and it's incredible. Also I have a bunch of vintages lol. I have vintage youth dew and Chanel no 5 too I love spicy vintages best
@@thecuriousperfumer yes youth dew juice is super duper dark and it is such a powerful scent. The beginning is very sharp and aldehydic but it settles down to an nice spicy cinnamon cosmetic powder smell. It's very unique and most people nowadays have a lot of trouble sitting through the top notes. They are very harsh but the dry down is worth it. Super long lasting too.
I have a 50 year old chanel no 5 perfume from my grandmother. Half of the bottle was used by my grandmother in the past. And it was stored in the right conditions. Do you mind if I smell this perfume? If a perfume is stored in the right conditions, can it be used even if it is 50 years old?😊
I have Fidji by Guy Laroche and also cool water which me and my husband really love, its a very cool perfume, i didnt even thought its vintage. Great video :)
Sweet Scents Well technically I don’t think it’s considered ‘vintage’ by Fragrantica standards but Cool Water was released in 1988, so its vintage in my book 🤣🤣🤣 To me, anything 80s or 90s is vintage. I have never heard of the Fidgi one....I’ll have to go look that one up. Thanks for watching!! ♥️
Great list! I had a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie that someone gave me because of the name- it was too sweet for me though and I offloaded it, but I kinda wish I kept it now. Although I don't think the red Samsara bottle was the original bottle, but the red was around for a while so some of them would definitely be vintage! ;) Xx
Ellisa Vitulli Hey! Just look on the bottom of the bottle and you should see a 3-5 digit number on there. When you find it, just put that number into the checkfresh.com website. Pretty neat!
I’m pretty sure it depends on the quality of the fragrance to begin with. Over time, the top notes dissipate but sometimes, if kept in a cool/dark location and not disturbed much, it can certainly last 20+ years. My mom used to have one that was nearly 30 years old but it was an original Shalimar and kept in a cool and dark place. Shalimar would have comprised of quality oils and other ingredients vs a cheaper brand so it definitely still smelled just like Shalimar. So I guess it depends on several factors.
Please rename this discontinued perfumes or pre-reformulation. Vintage is technically anything over 20 years old. However, within the perfume community, vintage is considered pre-1980.

I love these videos. I’m wearing a vintage perfume today. I heard about it on UA-cam. Bill Blass Nude. It smells so nice on me.
J Anderson Ohhhh that’s a great one!!! Very aldehyde fragrance and it smells so vintage but in a good way. Thanks for watching!!! ♥️
I want to try that perfume. Oh the good old days
Exclamation was my first perfume! It smells different now. I used to wear Irvin the 5th grade in 1990

Exclamation!!! I remember so clearly loving it when I was a teen.
I have a bottle of that.
Obsession was my first perfume and it was the atomiser which had the spray button within the lid.
Wow that’s the old one!! How nice! ♥️
Excellent video! It really took me down memory lane. I also used EA Blue Grass, Anais Anais by Casharel, CD Tendre Poison, & YSL Champagne.

Clinique simply was my LOVE. Broke my heart when it was discontinued. I would give up my collection in exchange for that one to come back.
Lovely Moon I know what you mean....I was distraught when I heard it was being discontinued. Never have figured out why 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Intimate perfume, by Jean Phillipe.
Very cheap, but it smells very expensive. A very age appropriate scent, for the mature woman. It's one of my favourite fragrances. I also love, and wear Madam Rochas.
These sound divine!
Yes get my intimate from fragrance net. Smells like perfume , no candy , foodie scents of today. It last all day and then some , I'm mature, over 60 😃
I find that anything older than 2000 ages well, perfumes that I have pre-2000 hasn't gone rancid. The ones I have from around 2005-2016 smells "off."
Good observation....I’m wondering if the quality was simply better then or if there were more oils in the frags back then that helped preserve them.
Great video. I just bought a 2006 miss Dior Cherie!! I have an old Ma Graffe by Carven that we got in the 90’s at a yard sale and I absolutely love it!!!
