I love wearing some vintage, it really depends on the bottle and how it’s preserved. I am currently wearing Teatro alla Scala, Fendi, Chanel N5 EDC and Ysatis!
I don't care if a perfume is "old fashioned" if it smells good on me that's all I care about. I have a mixture of perfumes from all different decades and I love them all.
I’ve been slowly growing my vintage collection. Not all vintage formulations, but some are. Currently some of my favourite are: Mitsouko, No 5, Houbigant Quelques Fleurs, Molinard Habinita, Must de Cartier, YSL Rive Gaiche… so many more to explore. I’m discovering that I really love vintage fragrances. Thanks for the video. There are a couple here I have yet to smell.
I love these perfumes and wear some of them. I love N 5 and it is the only fragrance that I can wear when I do not feel well. It was supposed to smell like snow. Very clean.
I also think that some discontinued perfumes would do very well these days. I ad a discussion a couple of weeks ago with Luke perfumes and she agreed that if Laura Bagiotti Venezia came out now it would be a huge success.
In general I don’t wear my vintage fragrances except occasionally when I am alone at home with my nostalgic memories. 😢 I used to wear YSL Opium, Dior Poison, and Givenchy YSATIS a lot back then. Now I wear my modern fragrances from 2013 to 2024.
Hi Kate I'm not sure If I'm a fan of vintage fragrance but I do have chanel no5 eau premier, I have cabotine de gres that one to me smells very 90's and I enjoy it, I have guerlain insolence although it's quite new, to me it smells a little vintagey, and I loveee it 💜 I want to try some from the Shalimar line ☺️, what do you think of souffle de parfum?
I think Shalimar Souffle is good, but I don't remember it too well now :( I think it reminds me of Philtre de Parfum, and I definitely love it! I have a decant and spay it sometimes 🥰 And great choice with Eau Premiere! It's amazing
Lol, I am vintage sort of. My signature scent, when I still had those, was Mitsouko in perfume version and l also wore many bottles of Shalimar perfume. If I had to choose only one perfume for the rest of my life, it would surely be Mitsouko! That started in my late teens early 20s and I am 63 now. I have a large collection of vintage perfumes as well as my niche and designer bottles. It's so nice to see younger woman talk about and love chypre perfumes and the classics! oxJulia
@@StelmaDesigns Hi Julia, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story! Mitsouko and Shalimar are hard to beat, they are too close to perfection 🩷
😮so many vintage fragrances i wish we could buy in stores today! White Shoulders, Opium, actually all of them were better then. Some are all but unrecognizable.😢
Hope your channel grows❤ glad i found it, did you buy these scents yourself? Im always amazed at how much money can go into perfume, its never enough moneynto buy all the scents i want to try. I really want the original ysl paris, and mitsouko, and apres l'ondee too, i like violet scents
Thank you for your kind words!🙏🏼 Ohhh yes, fragrances and rent - two biggest lines in my budget 😅 I want to add Apres l'Ondee to my collection as well 🤩
Hi Cheryl! I haven't tried the original Arpege yet, but would love to 🤩 I tried only the purple one before, it's nice. I used to have it as a teenager long ago 🙂
Hi! I have Dune edt in both the original 1991 release and the latest formulation (2021 or so). I haven't tried the parfum or esprit de parfum versions. With the edt I would say there is very little difference. The 1991 formulation is that bit softer and deeper and the new version is a little more scratchy overall. However, both can be worn happily and they smell basically the same. I wouldn't worry too much as to which one is best; the vintages can be very expensive and you'd probably be just as happy the the new one. Hope that helps!
Cool, Tim Hanks, that's awesome 🙌👌😊 Is your YSL Paris a vintage bottle or more recent out of interest? I would be interested in revisiting this beauty, but I still remember the gorgeous nature of the original and am scared to ruin this 😂😍 xx
@@rlim1839 mine is modern, I think it's about 5 years old! Ohh, I wish I smelled the vintage version 🤩 If you have a chance to compare them, please let me know what you think!
Lovely video thank you! Just a small correction…Shalimar doesn’t have any lavender note. (but Jicky does ☺️) Collector here for many years myself, including lots of vintage Guerlain, Dior, Chanel, YSL etc. I also collect designer and some niche. My all time favourite vintage from Guerlain is Mitsouko edp, edc, edt & parfum. I also dislike the term ‘old lady perfume’ so much…and if it does smell like an ‘old lady’, then that old lady is the most stylish, classy woman with impeccable taste in fragrance! I will still be wearing my Chanel’s when I’m much older and I will wear them so proudly. 😊 Where is your accent from? Warm hello from another introvert far away in Australia. 🇦🇺👋🥰
@@time_traveller3 Hi Amanda, thank you! I guess the lavender note from Philtre de Parfum may have confused me back then, not sure 🤔 I was born and raised in Moscow! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and lots of love to Australia 🩷
@@katekhara Ah yes, the lovely Philtre de Parfum does have lavender, such a beautiful perfume! 💜 So sad Guerlain discontinued it, but I managed to get some backups before they all disappear. 😊 Also, if you love the peach in Mitsouko, or having trouble finding that in the bottle you have, then try to find vintage Eau de Cologne or Cologne sprays, they have a stronger peach note that’s sublime! Mitsouko EDP also has more of that lovely peach. 🍑
@@katekhara oh, I thought you smelled something not ok in the edp. I have a small decant of the 2017 edp, and I might buy a bottle when that will be over.
Occasionally I wear vintage fragrances at home. They were deeper, darker, serious, and more exotic than my modern fruity florals of today’s. It’s not weird, (well maybe a bit odd), just a different time period. It’s all about change and adaptability in life. I can appreciate both vintage and modern fragrances. Mostly I wear fragrances from 2020 to 2024. Right now, especially in the summer I enjoy fun, airy, bright scents.
