    The more I dive into ableton, the more I realise that I hardly needed to buy any 3rd party plugin....

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  4 роки тому +30

      Exactly, there's already so much depth with the built-in instruments and then MaxForLive just blows the lid off the whole thing. I've got maybe 1 or 2 third party plugins that I use in my own music-making but 95% of what I use is just native Live stuff.

    • @MarcusFenixGears
      @MarcusFenixGears 4 роки тому +3

      ELPHNT Yeah, I wish I switched to ableton earlier. I came from Maschine/Logic and during that time bought a ton of 3rd FX plugins, which in hindsight were not 100% needed

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  4 роки тому +7

      @@MarcusFenixGears Well at least you have them now 😁There's definitely nothing wrong with 3rd party plugins and I'll occasionally grab myself a new plugin if I'm looking to switch things up a bit and get some fresh inspiration, so those definitely aren't wasted purchases 😉

    Imagine how many combinations there must be just on a four track song idea with say ten M4L devices.....The free FREE! Turing plug-in generator is like having an actual drummer in my headphones. Just plonk it infront of a drum patch and incredible things can be locked in repeated and messed about with. Thanks for this vid too :)

    Every time I open the project again College Dropout resets the mode from vynil to tape. How can I fix this?

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  3 роки тому

      That sounds like an issue with the device itself. You'll have to contact the developer and ask them to look into it. You'll find their contact details via the device's maxforlive.com page: maxforlive.com/library/device/4805/college-dropout

    i don't get it, can't you just make an audio rack with a EQ with ableton's built in bit crush? producers nowadays are just plain lazy
    nvm it's free i'm gonna get it lol

    • @GenteelCretin
      @GenteelCretin 4 роки тому

      Oh, you totally can. You just need to set up a rack with a chain for the wet and dry signals. If you want want to do a crossover filter for the high end, you'll have to add another chain and EQ out the difference (and I think Max uses a 3rd order filter for that, whereas I think Ableton just mostly has 2nd and 4th order filters?). It's just how simple or complex you want to make the process for yourself. Realistically, there aren't many audio effects out there; the only reason there are so many plugins is because there are a variety of approaches for implementation and complexity, and even then, the results are usually dependent on how the UI and workflow guides you...
