dillon bastian creates a lot of weird music technology real cool
yeah, what a production in quality and even quantity !?!
yikess - that site had some amount of ads on it >_
@@javelin666 Its honestly hilarious haha. At first I was like wtf is up with this site?!
@@javelin666 woah yikes thanks for the info in advance i would have been freaked out by the interface lol wthh
excuse me but what the fuck? this tutorial? I started watching it for no reason - and then I was like. Wow.? Wow? WOW!? This is so cool it inspired me to work on my music while I was procrastinating. I honestly have no words for you, this is just immensely well done. You deserve a high five and a cold beer
This channel is truly the height of UA-cam content. Gorgeously clean graphics, clear explanations and, of course, cool sounds. Thank you for making these videos and just releasing them for free!
❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
I rarely ever leave a serious comment on UA-cam videos, but your content is wildly underappreciated. The structured, no nonsense, and disinterested (in a good way) approach you take to these videos is very refreshing. You clearly know your stuff very well, and these demonstrations are streets ahead of reading some stuffy docs. Whenever I'm in a creative rut and stumble upon one of your videos, I always seem to get a very strong sense of newfound inspiration and motivation -- probably just a coincidence, though ;)
❤️❤️❤️🙏
And this is EXACTLY why ELPHNT is my favourite channel.
Thanks as always for such wonderful content!
"I would use Bouncy Notes for filtered resonant snares" -Aphex Twin probably
"...oh really? Just snares, huh?" -Autechre
Venetian Snares *makes a painting*
"LMAO" ~Flume
"What?" *slams chord -Mizutani pobably
The "Some Examples" segment are great addition to your video your video format!
Whatever the topic is, it's interesting, creative, and the best of the best. Thank you ELPHNT for having me on your musical journey. I love growing with you!
Me too
..and here I've been grappling with modular synthesis..chain some of these tools together inside Ableton and instant Mutable Instruments..thank you :)
dillon bastion is finally moving us nearer to the real future of music and sound design. elektron should hire him immediately. i've been using iota for like 4 years
Flume is foaming at the mouth over “emit”
When ELPHNT was going over the examples how how emit could be used at the end of the emit demonstration all I thought about was Flume
please make this into a standard VST. im not ever switching to ableton but i really want this
i've started using these plugins for EVERY track i've done, and i've just gotten started...so much to explore! thank you again for this tutorial.
how do you get them ? as they are not in his store
Alright, these devices are just insane. Even one would be revolutionary.
Now, see, that's what I call a we'll made tutorial. You show both what we are going to achieve, why it's important, and how we go about doing it. Most tutorials I've seen always show the what they are going to achieve, and how, but never the why, band in a very simple step by step manner. Excellent job 🤟
Dillon’s plug-ins are simultaneously geeky, bonkers and completely original. I’m sold. Great video, Tom. Thanks so much for explaining these. I particularly like the examples of each you give as well.
Emit is like Borderlands Granular on iPad! I wonder if they were inspired by that brilliant classic app?
Part of what made Borderlands so special was the ability to load numerous samples in a big X-Y collage and have multiple emitters , sometimes overlapping different samples -- and creating a unique interplay between different sounds that worked well together. I suppose you could get close to the same effect if you added a few different sounds to the same wav file, maybe fading some together.. then toss it in Ableton Emit.
That's a cool comparison! I hadn't thought of that. Borderlands was always my favourite app back when I had an iPad. Emit and Vector Grain both give me very similar vibes 👌
MINDBLOWING!!! grabbing ableton ASAP just to use these!!!
the generative drum fills is brilliant
Your ability to describe complex stuff so simply and clearly is second to none. Thank you.
Feels like I’m watching a music production tutorial made by Aperture Science in Portal 2. (That’s a compliment).
Great to see ELPHNT's videos getting some of the recognition they so greatly deserve. Hats off to you sir, your explanations are crisp and clear, and you outline a bunch of interesting directions for sound design in every presentation you make
While I was thinking about it, someone was already working on it. I'm so happy.
Just wanted to say that I really loved the pace you used to go over the controls and explain the plugins. And your voice is nice to listen to. Keep up the great work! And thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this inspiring, clear and creative video. I highly appreciate your creation. ✨🙏
The best video's on Ableton, Max4Live and plugins come from this channel. I've learned so much here. Thank you ELPHNT!
My head just exploded...so many random paths to walk and enjoy sounds...thanks Ableton team for your work ...and you for a wonderfully lucid explanation.
honestly i have no idea why iv been using fl studio for as long as i have, this shit is super frecking awesome!
Brill.Thanx. I love these devices. Basically upgraded to 11 because of these. It’s almost like having GRM Tools inside live… Love ‘em
I'm a little bit nervous about what machine learning is going to provide tool wise in DAWs over the next ten years. Gonna be flipping' sweet!
Finding this sub is like finding Jeremy Ethier's workout videos -- before he was very popular, the viewers felt spoiled cause we got to witness no bullshit cold hard videos, and now I feel spoiled finding this small count channel. Love it!!
Haha, I have no idea who that is, but also I hope my videos would be the same quality no matter how many subs I have!! 😂
Excellent tutorial. And no exaggeration, these devices show a lot of promise for sound design. Thank you.
Love the thoroughness!
Killer tutorial! Well explained. Ive opened up the vector devices before and had no clue what to do with them lol. And I've been producing for 10 years. Thank you for detailed info.
These are so amazing and charming, I really love the idea of making music this way
This is simply amazing.
Cleanest video ever. Relaxing AND informative. Awesome work, thanks !
I’m amazed at how clean the editing is in this video. How your cursor isn’t clipped by the mask around the plugin... totally beyond me.
Haha, thanks. Screenflow makes it pretty easy 😉
That gave me a chuckle. These are some lovely devices.
My day is inspired by nature and by Inspired by Nature now. Thanks, this pack is what I've been building my eurorack for
I'm working on Machine Learning research center and one of my hobbies is Electronic Music , now I can have my Words colliding! Thank you! So exciting!
Very clear explanation, much appreciated!
Just brilliant Tom. Really inspiring and so clear. You're still the best mate
Thanks for this, great video again! Your balance between sound and narration is spot on.
Great presentation. Clear and precise. Inspires new ideas in creating music. Thanks Tom.
every tutorial should be like this. so happy i found this channel
Awesome long videos get saved to watch later. Welcome back btw!
always a pleasure watching your videos.
Excellent! Thanks for the tour of the new devices.
Well explained, great job.
Thank you.
Thank you so much. Now I am learning Ableton Live 10 Suite and many many thanks for this inspiring video ! GOOD LUCK !
Woah!! These devices nail the concept I've been exploring musically for a while 😍
These are so phenomenal. Dillon Bastan has always been great, but these look to be leagues ahead of his previous M4L devices. I liked his old stuff in theory more than in practice. I'm amazed at how tight these are and just how many he made.
I will admit I was nervous at first about some of the granular effects. I like granular synths, but granular synthesis that is focused on non-midi based loops can be a little tedious to work with, and there are so many approaches to that already. I'm glad that Emit seems to embrace both sides of granular synthesis as an atmospheric and melodic toolset.
I always get so inspired with these videos
Me too if you want we could collaborate and make something crazy I got the vocals and I’ll thoughts
Thanks for the inspiration! Awesome.
Thx for the walk Tom !
Incredible tutorial !
Thank you for such a helpful exploration of these synths!
Perfect video ! Thank you !
EXCELLENT! Really enjoy your teaching style and depth. The examples are great, too. I wish that all these devices had MIDI output in some way, not just the first one.
Thanks a lot Tom. As always, it's incredibly well explained.
Lovely machines. Love that beautiful soundscape sound in "bouncy notes"
This is so chillll man
Amazing! Thank you!
your content is incredible. thank you
Thank you for making such an informative video and put the effort to make it so it focuses on the task without being distracting
Bouncy notes and vector grains are the most interesting
This program always made me feel like a mad scientist when using it. That's why I always loved Ableton.
This episode was super soothing. Used it to get me to sleep on a restless night 🌙
i got these yesterday because of this video. I feel at home here and love these after playing with them for 15 minutes
This video is so good thanks!
Incredibly useful video mate. Thank you so much!!
Amazing video. Thank you.

Wow. Such an excellent introduction to this.
Thank you ELPHNT for the brilliant videos!
This has got me deep in an asmr trance. Gonna make some coffee and watch it again in the morning while downloading A11.
Great tutorial as always. Keep them up bro
Great video. Even if i was not sure to upgrade to Ableton 11 this weird new tools made me switch my opinion. Thank you so much!
Thank you. Oh master of the universe !! 🙌🙌
I'm new to the channel but I hope you will be uploading more videos soon! I love your content and it's great for a ableton newbie like me! Keep it up!
Wow. Amazing.
Brilliant software!

Incredible content!!
Nice work thanks
great video, as always! - cheers
Thanks for the great tutorial. During the video I was constantly asking myself: what brilliant mind developed such mind-blowing devices!
Excellent video!
Thanks for teaching me about those rather gifted babies.
The lovely ELPHNT.TNX for sharing.
Your vid is extremely inspiring! 👍🏻
You're a good teacher.
If simplicity is the ultimate sophistication you Sir are the most sophisticated gentleman The UA-cam Machine has ever showed me. Explaining such dense material in such an elegant fashion is no easy feat. I honestly never comment on videos, I hide in the shadows but credit where credit is due. YOU ARE A GENIUS
The explanation is top notch and I can't wait to use them for ambient but you're source sound choices are always at the top as well! Loved the Bouncy Notes demo sound and the Synth Arps passage :D
