Pakistan was not dissatisfied with VT4. This Haider MBT is just a locally assembled VT4 under TOT from Norinco China. They just named it Haider. Pakistan never claimed it has produced a different tank thank VT4 and china supplying faulty vt4 to pakistan is utter bullshit.

any weapon can cause damage no matter how crappy they are. so even if its dog sh!t, this tank should not be underestimated.
Lets see, they mentioned problems with faulty armour, mismatched dimensions of components and problems that occurred during trials. Furthermore, local assembly still would rely on Chinese components for some time. The biggest flaw however, is that it is not a next generation tank such as that of the Abrams X, K2 Black Panther or the KF-31. Instead it is a tank with standard features making it ineffective against more modern tanks that would enter service.
@@8000jk I Guess you don't understand how reports work, even in this clip there was one valid claim and one more of like a propaganda thing the first one where they said that imported tanks failed to meet the standard after Army tested them makes it a fact that Tank has serious shortcomings as the army using it wasn't satisfied with it but for making a claim about the later model you need to have a certain claim tests or reports that indicate that the tank is failing to achieve required standards you mentioned Abrams and Panthers but you forgot Pakistan is not up against countries armed with these big MBTs and most likely scenario to use these weapons will always be in a defensive conflict where they are not advancing into enemy territory so it makes no sense to compare it with other MBTs and for roles it wasn't designed to fulfil as it's not a competitor to begin with. A news article without solid reports to back it is just sheer propaganda.

As a member of Pak Army Armoured Corps, and having been part of VT-4 trials, let me make it clear that VT-4 was first promised to Pakistan in Gen Musharaf's era, now that took almost 20 years of research and analysis, and Pakistan didn't include it into inventory just over night, Pakistan tested and failed hundreds of it's trails and kepts sending the feedback and asked for the improvements, and VT-4 surprisingly came up with more than expected. Ok, now let's consider that it's a cheap Chinese tank, now keeping in view that Pakistan has no intention of invading India or any other country, but to keep it's immediate challenge that is Indian T-90s, "which Pakistan tried to acquire but due to India's interference Russia was forced to step back from the deal" , Pakistan acquiring Hundreds of VT-4s will out number India's T-90, which are way expensive but hardly produce anything better than VT-4, so basically it's a win win situation for Pakistan.
