Jennifer Brewer As I have stated in my comment above, the character of tom falls under psychopath, this does not change his nature weather his mum and dad were around or not. I would like a fanfiction where Tom Riddle Sr was a muggle born wizard. He could have married Merope just as an easy way to gain power by entering a pureblood family since in that time its unlikely a muggleborn would get to a high position no matter the talent or ambition and as such chances of marrying into a more prestigious pure blood family would have been harder.
I suppose but he died a bum. 16 years after leaving Jrs mom he still was at home living with his parents and probably didnt have a job. Bum. He wasnt ambitious. All Slytherin arent assholes. Personally I think the sorting hat would have rejected him entirely.
@@vladtheimpaler9577 It would be perfect the gaunts who were broke would get the riddles money and the tom would have his name associated with a very respected pureblood family.
I like it, but I wish you did it where it was like Scenario A: If Tom was raised by both of his parents and Merope continues to give Tom Sr. the love potion. Scenario B: If Tom was raised by both his parents, but Merope stops giving Tom Sr. the love potion but Tom Sr. still decides to stay (like you did here). Scenario C: Similar to the original timeline if, after Merope stops giving Tom Sr. the love potion and Tom Sr. abandons her, but she survives and raises Tom by herself. But it was still a good video (as usual). Great job! 😃
You can also add Scenario D: Tom/Merope separates, Merope leaves Tom at orphanage. Tom Sr had a blast of conscience, sought his son after Merope dies. Finds him and raised his son with his parents.
Scenario E: Tom Senior feels responsible for his unborn child (especially since said child was entirely innocent of his mother's crime). His hatred, however, provides no reason to stay *permanently* ... Mr. Riddle only stays with his wife until their son is born. He claims the baby while deserting her.

@@lochiness. Brittain is a tiny country compared to America, England has less places to hide, more Voldemort supporters in England, a school that isn't Hogwarts, a school with a teacher that doesn't have a teacher with Voldemort sticking out of his head, Death Eaters, no muggleborn killing snake inside Hogwarts. Fudge is so goddamn incompetent if you send Harry here, put Fudge in charge and have him say nothing, no one in the Ministry will ever find him again. Oh! Um, no Voldemort?? Like a really, really big ocean between here and Voldemort? Many, many good reasons.
I really enjoyed this. I like how this really follows Riddle's overall character. Seriously, even if Tom was simply adopted by a magical family, things would have turned out VERY differently. It was the abandonment and the shunning that turned him into Voldemort. Even the Dursley family would have been better than that orphanage. By the time Dumbledore found Riddle, the damage was done and Voldemort had already been born. That deep-seated hatred of Muggles combined with the ego that comes to those that are naturally gifted had already taken root. And I do agree that Tom Gaunt would have gone for political means to change the system and take power. He would have researched what others had done and learned from their mistakes. Rather than rely on fear and power to control others, he would have applied cunning and manipulation to edge his way up the ladder and finally seize power. Rather than be the loner that Voldemort was, Gaunt would have not only surrounded himself with loyal followers, but would have utilized their own power and ability to best advantage. Gaunt would have been one to orchestrate events to maneuver his lieutenants into positions of power, and they would in turn lift him higher. In the end, in this alternate timeline, the Second Wizarding War would have been one of political machinations, ending in a world much as we see during Book 7 ... "Blood Certifications" to prove Pureblood status, with Halfbloods being a second-class citizen. Muggle-born would be outcasts and would be shunned by the majority of the Wizarding World. The only thing that I see happening differently is that it isn't a coup .... it would be a slow turn of policy and belief from within the Ministry. Those that spoke against it would be ridiculed and demonized, and would eventually be labelled as "Dangers to Society" and find themselves in Azkaban. And all of it would likely, again, be followed by those immortal words ... "For the Greater Good..."
Honestly I don't think Tom would be in anyway merciful towards muggles even if he was raised by his father. Seeing the way his powerless muggle dad would treat, who should be an even more powerful wizard mother by tolerating her in his home and giving her zero attention would probably lead to disrespect down the line, and possibly domestic abuse. He'd purely keep her around to help shape Tom Jr. into his idea of a perfect son. He'd probably have zero remorse in hurting Merope by bedding other women. Tom's wizardry superiority complex would probably still be elevated by the presence of his muggle father asserting power over both him and his mother, shaping his disdain for all muggles. Unless by some miracle Tom was adopted by a loving family, say the Adams Family (not that, that would do much difference), there's probably no escaping his curse to become Voldemort.
@@nadaaliu7933 Yep, Severus Snape was very similar to Tom Riddle: A half-blood from an uncaring and lonely home who grew fascinated with the dark arts and fashioned himself a cool moniker....but it's his love for Lily which holds him back from becoming a dark lord in his own right.
Considering Merope violated Tom Riddle Sr's consent, I would not be sorry if a victim ever cheated on their perpetrator-spouse. I would be more worried about the domestic abuse Merope would inflict, rather than what the victim would have inflicted against his abuser.
@@ishmamahmed9306 I know what she done was absolutely wrong, but I feel like she was looking for someone to love her. As it obviously she doesn’t get that from her father or brother. But it obviously she didn’t know any better, but I don’t think it was entirely her fault. Because nobody told her, what she’s doing was wrong. I would doubt that her father or brother would teach her that, because I don’t they really care much about her or what she doing.
Firstly, what Ishmam said in the comments. Secondly, I don't think he'd act in that way to her. I think it would be *far* more negligence and ambivalance, than violence and rage. If Tom had felt negatively about his dad, it would be because of him being void of true love towards that magical side of his family and his own mother, and he'd resent how he only cared for her being there for the sake of Tom. Normally some master manipulation seems like the ideal for Tom, but because it's his own mother who is trying to care for him and for whom he pitties, he would become quite bitter towards his father not caring for her in that way. I think the key difference here is how big of an effect the specific teachers and mentors are, otherwise in his life. If they were warm and caring towards him, and helped guide him in good ways, he'd have somebody to actually strongly look up to, and to help guide him morally. If not, then I think it would be much more in line with how the video ends up. Simply to the effect of muggles in general, I think he wouldn't be actively against them if it was the worst outcome, he would just disregard them and focus on who and what mattered to him, which was magic.
@@ameliexavierson6540 I totally see what you mean! But, I think his inability to love wouldn't prevent him from trying to woo a pureblood heiress of an old, politically powerful wizarding family, just as a mean to achieve his ends. Let us not forget he is supposed to have had Delphini in the original timeline as well, for the sake of continuing Salazar Slytherin's bloodline. Perhaps, the idea would appeal even more to him in a timeline which doesn't include his immortality.🤔
Εύα Κάλλιου Like you said he is suposted to have Delphi, but I don't think her mother would be Bellatrix, maybe Walburga Black, the women he suposedly named Death Eaters after and the mother of Sirius and Regulus Black.Sirius and Regulus can still exist,Tom only needs an heir he dosen't have to marry her,she would resist him because he is a half-blood and she is a pure-blood suporter, she would rather have an incestues marringe with her cousin then break that and "Walburga personally blasted her son from the tapestry" so.Tom ether:1)uses a love potion on her or 2)charms her with his good looks and personality like he did to Hepzibah Smith.Etherway he gets her pregnanat and she gaves birth to Delphini, then he uses oblivio on her because he dosen't want her interfining in the upbringing of Delphi or just leaves her with the "shame" of giving birth to a half-blood child.
I think the reason Tom was obsessed with death and inmortality was because of his mother. She died and he knew that she did not have the strenght to continue living for him. He felt abonded, angry and disgusted by her weakness.
Personally I think the idea of the privileged , ruthless and cruel and heartless pureblood prince and minister of magic Thomas lestrange defeated politically by Harry Potter (maybe harry unknown last name since lily and james might not have got together without the war) after years of reducing muggleborn and half breed rights seems appealing .
I like how you made sure to not accidentally reinvent Tom into another character and instead make it believable by toeing the line but taking into account the changes. Even with parents Tom would not suddenly be a complete antithesis of Voldemort but he would be different. He'd be more human, more approachable and most importantly be more familiar with the one thing that completely alluded him in canon i.e. love. Would Tom be a good person, absolutely not but he wouldn't be the totally evil monster Voldemort was and I feel would have far more redeeming qualities. A morally grey character perhaps.
I'd love a Part 2! Also, What If Bellatrix Defeated Molly? Grindelwald Joins The Order Fanfic What Was Draco Malfoy's Boggart? What If Dumbledore Became Minister? What If Molly Joined The Horcrux Hunt? What If Grindelwald Defeated Dumbledore? What If The Marauders Never Bullied Severus?
@@oldscoolgaming6700 don't think so. In this timeline he wouldn't hate muggle-borns or halfbloods. So why release the Basilisk on an ordinary pupil? In this timeline he would use the Basilisk to kill the headmasters (especially if he is in a position where he could be confident to get the spot)
Didn't Rowling already state that love potion doesn't have that effect on a child? Maybe it all was just a shitty life for Voldemort. Growing up in abusive orphanage, because look up orphanages of his time they were always awful, in times of two wars and poverty, another tremendously sad shit, then goes to Hogwarts thinking it's his heaven only to be sorted into Slytherin without surname so they probably thought him muggleborn and made his first years there a hell until by good old violence he proved them otherwise probably discovering that he was above avarage in power which fueled his arrogance furthermore, since the very beginning. And Dumbledore sadly treated him badly as well not trusting and alienating him from the beginning, putting him short in the "dark wizardzz" box. He always had to fight for his ends and ever since he was a child learned that being mean gets you things. There was no one to teach him better. And all he ever got from muggles was shitty treatment and bombarding and war and malnutrition and then got to Hogwarts where at least some of it was better and life was easier and he probably loved magic as much as Harry and loved Hogwarts as much as Snape did because it was home. And he was brilliant a smart boy as well as a good student maybe if Dumbledore wasn't hardened by Grindelwald situation he would've grown fond of the boy and lead him away from the darkness showing him that it's not the only way. Who knows what good a genius like him could've done if only he were given a kind hand for once in his life. Or was allowed to stay at Hogwarts over summer because why did teachers send a child back to the war zone when they could just fucking let him stay in a safe place. What's wrong with them, then? Only real thing I know was that when I was thirteen and finished the books I always thought that my great, wonderful, kind Harry would find a pity for the boy who made all the wrong choices because Harry would be the only one who could understand him, because Harry saw his childhood in pensieve and probably could relate to it, because Harry was the chosen one so he surely would find such magnificent empathy and try to save his enemy not only destroy him like Dumbledore ever did. Harry was The Chosen One so he surely would be that good, that angel-like to find it in his heart to forgive and save someone who everyone else thought unsalvagable. That's why he is the chosen one isn't he? But it didn't happen it never will and my young heart just broke a little then and I remember to this day that for me the light didn't truly won there. Because Harry just merely accepted Dumbledore words that he cannot help Voldemorts soul anymore and it was truly devastating for me because I thought that the soul even of someone evil like Voldemort could be redeemed by someone as good as Harry Potter in the world of magic where everything is possible. Thanks to everyone who read this and gave it a thought.
Definitely wanna hear a part two! And would love to see how you can spin Harry’s story into this alternate timeline! Perhaps Voldemort still becomes corrupt with political power and the ministry becomes a regime! Just a suggestion
Mina PH the Dark Mark summons wizards to his presence, causing them intense burning pain until they get their butts in gear. You don’t need to summon yourself to your own physical presence since you are your own self. That’s the logic I’d go with for Voldemort’s lack of a mark practically speaking. I’ll also add the caveat that it’s likely a control thing on Voldemort’s part... hence why his followers that are branded with the mark feel pain for each moment that they do not immediately answer his call for their presence.
@@m.inaaaaHe tells another death eater to do it for him remember in goblet of fire?? He told would wormtail to press the mark to summon the other deatheaters
Seeing as Voldemort was a psychopath I believe things would have turned out much the same. The key difference is that Dumbledore would not have seen the darkness in Tom as soon as he did.
This time his lust for power would drive him and not his fear from death. I think he would still become evil and at the end create hoxs so he could fight against Dumbeldore. He wouldn't create that much but at least one when he sees that he has no chance against Dumbeldore. Because at the end when he wants to rule over the wizard world he has to overcome Dumbeldore.
Yeah, Tom would've pretty much turned out the same despite still having a family. Because he was conceieved with a love potion and not real love, he will still be born with a disability of not having any emotional attachment. He'd most likely despise his father for being non-magic and his mother for lowering herself to marry a muggle, even if it wasn't entirely her fault, he'd still feel that she could've tried to make some effort to become a better witch. I believe this would be the case with his mother because in the original story, whilst Tom was born in an orphanage and had no parents, he still did everything he could to build himself from the moment he arrived at the school. He never looked back and pushed forward to get far, so it would be very likely he'd despise his mother for not attempting to do the same thing and I can defiantly see him purposely anger his father since he sees him as nothing but a useless muggle. When Tom starts making the horcruxes, I'd imagine he'd kill his father in doing so and make it out like he died in an accident or was murdered by an unknown wizard, leaving his mother heartbroken and possible realising what monster she's created, but unable to do anything about it. When Tom graduates from school, he'll leave his mother for good and go on with his mission for pure blood wizards, changing his name as you've mentioned in your video. The reason why i'd imagine Tom would still make horcruxes is not only because he fears death, but the fact that he doesn't care much for love and knows he's the last of the Slytherine blood-line, therefore feels keeping himself immortal will keep the Slytherine bloodline alive.
@J&N Gaming and More! he didn't care much about wisdom or creativity. He was only good at school because he wanted to be powerful, and when you're of school age, those best in class have something over the other students.
Not all psychopaths kill. 99% don’t. He still is one because he was conceived under a love potion. I don’t think he wouldn’t kill because of moral or emotional hesitation. Killing anyone personally, dad or otherwise, would ruin all his plans. But I like this, especially his dad having psychopathic tendencies himself. Think of all the potions she could have made for him to use in exchange for not abandoning her and Tom. He’d learn first hand all the underhanded magical deeds in getting what he wanted very young.
I always thought it was so stupid that he couldn't love or feel because of the love potion. I've always made it where he wasnt loved in the beginning which means he can never feel love later on. By following their worlds love magic
@@Daud-ix4tm I think that is what it is within the canon of the story. It was the love potion that made him unable to immediately feel it, but it was the fact that he never ever got any love later on that made him turn into evil. If he at least had his parents, he would have some degree of love
I can imagine a world where Tom Riddle Sr. sticks around Merope because she is pregnant with his child and possibly because his family wouldn’t allow him back after he eloped with her. His family wouldn’t have believed in magic, so they likely wouldn’t believe his story about a love potion. Though we can definitely assume from Riddle Senior’s characterization in canon that he would likely resent Merope for her ugliness, stupidity, and for ruining his relationship with his family. I can imagine that Riddle Senior might take more kindly to Tom, because Tom looked like him and maybe would’ve been the best of a bad situation. Riddle Senior would raise Tom strictly but slightly affectionately, all while treating Merope coldly or ignoring her presence. This would dramatically skew Tom’s perception of love as a child, and we can assume that his ego would be fed by Riddle Senior’s wealth and status, as well as Merope’s stories of the Gaunt Family’s status in the Wizarding World. Young Tom would grow arrogant but calculating. We can assume that he’d pick up on his father’s use of Merope as a tool and emulate it himself, as Tom would be more likely to look up to his wealthy and handsome dad than his ugly and desperate mom. Riddle Senior would likely be disappointed that Tom is magical and might grow colder towards Tom, which would likely make Tom angry and determined to prove himself. And there we have Tom Riddle Jr., sorted into Slytherin when he goes to Hogwarts. He would use his Gaunt heritage to his advantage and likely wouldn’t look down upon anyone for their blood status, as he was raised by and admired a Muggle. Tom would likely instead view others as primarily tools, and would use anyone for his own ambitions. Perhaps his new upbringing would allow him to genuinely care for some people, but we can assume it wouldn’t be enough to overpower his ruthless ambition. So we either end up with Lord Voldemort once again, or Minister Riddle of Britain.
He would be the same. He was born while his dad was under a love spell, it's why he knew no friends, love or compassion. He was being incapable of love , remorse, empathy or sympathy because of the love potion . No matter who raised him, he would of been the same person he was.
Agreed! Like you said its a warning towards those who think of using love potions to have children or make relationships. It makes the child basically a psycopath. Since child is conceived by magic its incurable ( like harry's scar- a mark made by magic) from therapy or learning.
JKR said he could have turned differently even if he was starting with a disadvantage. He would never have been a great guy but he didn't have to be a monster.
Love is the strongest kind of magic. Thats the hole point in Harry Potter series. Lily's love saved Harry once, why Merope's love wouldn't do the same for Tom? Yes, of course, we know that he wouldn't be the best person in the world, like this video said. But even Joanne said once that Merope would change everything in Tom heart, for good.
@Alex Wesker Watching theories of how he could never love anyone and had no compassion, ability to kill and the need for only power never seeing there is good and evil, as he stated in the first book, he said there is no good or evil, just power. He never showed anyone compassion or love. Being born under a love lotion would bring forth a being incapable of love with the only feeling he could ever feel is power and control. Like sociopaths, serial killers etc. It's like they don't have a soul, they are highly intelligent incapable of feeling emotions, esp empathy, sympathy and love. They only feel anything is when they have power and control. Like when they take a life. Theory , there are a lot of them about it. Seems a reasonable fit in the discussion group 😉
@Alex Wesker I like your theory and opinion . Father was an ass, yet, he never claimed to of loved his mother or wanted to be with her. She forced him to be then hoped when she stopped giving him the option he would want to be with her on his own, which, he obviously didn't and left. Can't blame him though ...

I don’t think Tom would care about blood purity if he was raised by both his parents. Having a loving Muggle father would surely help him understand that Muggles don’t deserve to be hated. However, I do agree that he would still be very ambitious. I also agree that he would do some questionable things, but I don’t think he would be a bad person. He would probably tell someone about the Chamber of Secrets, or at the very least, he would make sure that the Basilisk would never be able to hurt anyone ever again. Speaking of Tom, who else would love to see him in the Fantastic Beasts Series?
Arvin Nazari Yeah I would agree. Although he couldn’t feel love due to him being conceived under a love potion, I would think that he wouldn’t hate muggles or muggleborns due to the positive association with his father unless someone else influenced him to hate them. He could’ve even had a descendant in Harry’s time at Hogwarts. The marriage would probably be unhappy though, just to carry out the legacy of the Gaunts.

Tom wouldn’t have abandoned the Riddle last name because he would have been proud of his elite muggle background. The fact that, even though they were muggles, they were extremely wealthy would have been a point of pride.
I'd love a part two, especially how it would affect the Potters. I assume they'd oppose him, so do you think things would follow along a similar line? Or would they be imprisoned instead, leaving Harry alone still but with surviving parents?

Oh! Um, no Voldemort?? Like a really, really big ocean between here and Voldemort?
Many, many good reasons.
You have to continue with this storyline! Please make a part 2 if possible
AK Channel TV agreed
AK Channel TV it’s rly good tbh
@@MovieFlame its movie flame!
This is a great video, please please can we have a part 2. I loved the storyline and theory!
I agree
I was proud of my mother's pure-blood ancestry.
even though they were inbred?
Aren't you dead?
@@dehzo6854 ROFL CUZ THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE READ ALL WEEK

Sounds like Snape's childhood.
I need more of this story!! Would Riddle have had a "normal" adult life? Marriage and children, perhaps? 🤔
He was concieved under a love potion still so he would never be able to love. But a good teacher maybe at Hogwarts?
@@ameliexavierson6540 I totally see what you mean! But, I think his inability to love wouldn't prevent him from trying to woo a pureblood heiress of an old, politically powerful wizarding family, just as a mean to achieve his ends. Let us not forget he is supposed to have had Delphini in the original timeline as well, for the sake of continuing Salazar Slytherin's bloodline. Perhaps, the idea would appeal even more to him in a timeline which doesn't include his immortality.🤔
Εύα Κάλλιου ooh, you’re right! Scratch what I said you have the better idea 😂
@@ameliexavierson6540 Let's see Dean's thoughts on this!! 😊😊
Theory: What if Merope Gaunt married a member of the Sacred Twenty Eight such as the Black Family?
Gerald Singer tom would end up extra inbred
That's a good one, I love it.
Then Tom would have good feelings
Personally I think the idea of the privileged , ruthless and cruel and heartless pureblood prince and minister of magic Thomas lestrange defeated politically by Harry Potter (maybe harry unknown last name since lily and james might not have got together without the war) after years of reducing muggleborn and half breed rights seems appealing .
@@milflover6203 He'd be Joffrey
I like how you made sure to not accidentally reinvent Tom into another character and instead make it believable by toeing the line but taking into account the changes. Even with parents Tom would not suddenly be a complete antithesis of Voldemort but he would be different. He'd be more human, more approachable and most importantly be more familiar with the one thing that completely alluded him in canon i.e. love. Would Tom be a good person, absolutely not but he wouldn't be the totally evil monster Voldemort was and I feel would have far more redeeming qualities. A morally grey character perhaps.

Yes. He is still Salazar Slytherins heir and a parsel tongue. But he wouldn't use it. At least not in the way he used to.
John Would he still have killed Moaning Myrtle?
@@oldscoolgaming6700 don't think so. In this timeline he wouldn't hate muggle-borns or halfbloods. So why release the Basilisk on an ordinary pupil? In this timeline he would use the Basilisk to kill the headmasters (especially if he is in a position where he could be confident to get the spot)
No because he doesn’t hate muggleborns or halfbloods, he would know about it, but not use it, so Myrtle would still be alive
He doesn't kill so no
but theoretically he would still not feel remorse, love etc because he would still have been conceived under a love potion
janella exactly
That is symbolic only.
I don't believe love potion was the main reason for that. How he grew up and what he chose in his life played bigger roles
Yes, please, continue this. I’m very intrigued
Please do continue this story. It’s one of your most interesting What If videos.
Interesting title
Can you please do video « why Voldemort doesn’t have the dark mark ?? »
But when Voldemort summon his followers if he didn’t have the dark mark ??
@@m.inaaaaHe tells another death eater to do it for him remember in goblet of fire?? He told would wormtail to press the mark to summon the other deatheaters
StrawBerry yes that’s what I talking about he gone till somebody else to do it for him but Voldemort likes to be independent I find it really odd
StrawBerry he didn't tell Wormtail to touch the mark he did it himself. He just told Wormtail to hold out his left arm.
This is such an amazing topic and video I love it
Seeing as Voldemort was a psychopath I believe things would have turned out much the same. The key difference is that Dumbledore would not have seen the darkness in Tom as soon as he did.
Can you please continue this video?
I love this what if videos and how much thought you put into them.
Please make a part 2! It would be really interesting!
Please complete the story. It is so interesting and keep up the good work. You Rock bro
If the Gaunts hadn’t wasted their money and married their cousins, they would have been a fair match.
This is brilliant! You HAVE TO make part 2! Please!
What if Tom riddle was sorted into a different house
But he's the heir of Slytherin, and he fits more in slytherin because he could not feel love.
@J&N Gaming and More! he didn't care much about wisdom or creativity. He was only good at school because he wanted to be powerful, and when you're of school age, those best in class have something over the other students.
The heir of Slytherin ?
@@86upsmaya ummm duh yeah

Best video you've uploaded in ages. Definitely continue with this story. I'm hooked.
@@Daud-ix4tm
I think that is what it is within the canon of the story.
Yes definitely finish the story. It's just starting to get really good!
GOD DAMMIT! I already lost my books, now the dvds are on fire too, thanks a lot.
To sum up: Instead of growing up to be Lord Voldemort, Tom grows up to be the Palpatine of the wizarding world...
This was very intriguing and I’m very excited for part 2. Also, this is a much better story than the Cursed Child.

I have great hopes that he will be in FB and I think that the reason that Nagini is there is connected to his future appearance.
Would love to see a part 2

@@4llu04k3 how could that be your point when you said wouldn't Tom's mom still have died? She didn't die giving birth to him in the actual time line so she couldn't "still" die giving birth to him just because Tom's father decided to stay
