      I really enjoyed this look back at an older hero with this exact level of depth. I have difficulties finding access to some of the heroes and this type of video could give me some different angles to aproach them.
      Keep it up, but don't stress yourself out (e.g. not forcing yourself to do *all* champions, only those would be fun for you to make a video about)!

    As a new Champions player, the in-depth approach is very helpful. My collection isn't large enough to accommodate the tech upgrade protection build, but it's still a good guideline to look at as I choose what to buy next if I want to build up Iron Man.

    The first time I played Iron Man, I already had quite a few games under my belt, quite a few hero packs, I was already a “Marvel Champions player” if that makes sense. But I had never played Iron Man before, and for some reason I felt like trying him out.
    That game was honestly such a watershed moment for me. It was a blast in a way none of my other games with other heroes had been.
    Iron Man is not among the most powerful heroes in MC, but he is by far the most fun, thematic, and exciting - at least for me. He really illuminated what this game can be, at its best, for me personally.

    I do love the idea of new trait cards coming out and revitalizing old heroes. I love when they did it with genius, spy, and 14 hp. More of these, plus tech and preparations would be really cool. And where's the love for gamma and soldier?

      @@NelsonAllOverCards heck, they could sell a pack of team up cards. There are tons of combinations obviously, but I’m thinking of obvious thematic ones to start. I don’t want a Hulk/Rocket team up card, though I wouldn’t complain if it existed in a pack. 😀

    Binging all of these, since I just got into MC(and nearly have everything for it already 😯) and loving the "Best aspect" opinions and cards you feel synergize best with said hero in that aspect. Can't wait for spotlights on Groot, Rocket, Spider-woman and Drax and the inevitable Valkyrie, Hulk and War Machine lol.

    At its top end, yeah Repulsor blast is the king of efficiency. Tho Hawkeye's Explosive arrow with a bunch of minions can compete (not counting the fact that it can be easily discounted).
    Tho if you compare it with an average of 3 energy - still really good but then Wakanda Forever and Cross Counter start to compete.
    Anyway, really good video, and in depth videos are good, you are the only one doing them.
    Tier list is tricky for him but its probably right for solo.

    I recently played as Iron Man in a Protection. He can build his tech cards so quickly, most of the time I have a decent hand size after just two turns in alter-ego form. However, some villains are tough for him and can punish him hard if he stays in alter-ego form for those two turns. On average, though, he is consistent and very fun to play. He is definitely one of my favorites.

  • @WinningHandPodcast

    But Stark Tower is so good in Repurpose! I’d argue it’s a key component in that build, but your mileage may vary!

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Рік тому

      I think it is more viable in a multiplayer setting, but in solo its slow, and unless I am running confuse build I rarely need to flip to AE once built out so it struggles to pay for itself.
      With repurpose I am running 10 or so extra upgrades so pitching three each deck pass is not killing my hand size.
      Again this convo changes when you add more people to the game!

    Protection Iron Man is great and I'm glad he's gotten so much useful stuff to make him stronger because he was rough to play prior. Now if they could do the same for Black Widow and give her some new preparation cards in aggression at some point.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards

      I really like the idea of prep cards in general! And if they make Widow more powerful I am all for that!

  • @Utenlok
    @Utenlok Рік тому +1

    I like using Stark Tower so I can pay with a tech upgrade and then bring it right back to hand. This basically lets me cut the cost of the tech upgrade by 1. Then later in the game if I pop over to Alt I can basically get another free resource or choose a friend that has a tech upgrade available to look for or even just add a resource to their hand with it.

    Great video! I think I have to disagree about the tech upgrades working thematically, though; I always find it really weird because inevitably at some point you're flying around with one boot, one gauntlet, and an arc reactor (or whatever). That's not a suit, that's a bunch of stuff stuck randomly onto you. XD

      Since the armor and helmet specify they're "Mark V" pieces, I choose to imagine that the baseline no-upgrades hero is the Mark IV Iron Man suit or something and Tony's just tweaking and installing the latest experimental bits to assemble the Mark V.

    I don’t get why so many supports like Stark Tower are limited to Alter-ego actions instead of being a general Action. The design is trying to encourage us to flip, but the benefit of the alter ego supports don’t really make up for the disadvantage of going to alter ego mode in solo, because of how far behind you can get on threat. I would play then more often if they were cheaper, like not 0 or 1 cost.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Рік тому

      They are significantly better in Multiplayer! And rolling to alter can be so tough in solo play, but its nice when you are able to figure out a way to do it because the benefits can be amazing!

    Great video! I have one doubt about the +1 hp of rocket boots. Does Iron man gets his health restored also when playing this card?

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Рік тому

      Yep! I think of health as a fraction as [current health]/[max health], when you get additional health (with the boots, or like endurance) both the numerator (current health) and denominator (max health) increase by that amount

  • @DuskWolf_
    @DuskWolf_ 2 місяці тому +1

    Hi! For the boots where it says to spend a resource to gain aerial, is that the same as just discarding for energy? Or do you need to be spending that special resource in a different way along with exhausting the boots to get aerial?
    Sorry if I worded that poorly. I’ve been curious about the “spending energy” requirement text in this game

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  2 місяці тому

      You can discard a card from your hand to spend for the energy, or you can use a resource generator like Quincarrier or Ingenuity to pay for the requirement!

    Hey, Nelson. I played with Iron Man for the first time today. I found the +6 hits points card helpful, but also, I understand your argument. I focused on building tech cards and was successful. However, I don’t see any restriction on how many times you can use the +6 hit points for Iron Man. Obviously I know it can only be used once per player phase, but is their a limit on his total hit points?

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  9 місяців тому

      Hey! So with the Armor it is an upgrade and once it is played you get the +6 HP, you do not need to exhaust it or anything to trigger its passive benefit.
      If the armor ever leaves play you lose the HP!
      Hopefully this helps!

    • @jerpanic1
      @jerpanic1 9 місяців тому +1

      @@NelsonAllOverCards I get that but I mean is their a limit to Iron Man’s hit points while holding this upgrade. Example: he has 9 + 6 puts him at 15 hit points. Next turn upgrade still in play 15 + 6 = 21 or is it limited to no more than 15 total hit points?

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
