I lived in Novosibirsk for a year in the 90s. It has changed so much since then! I tried to go to the opera house often to see the ballets and operas. Not many restaurants at the time and that huge shopping center definitely wasn't around.
You should do more tours of Russian cities
I agree! He’s a great guide & educator!
Me 10 minutes ago: I don't wanna go on holiday this year, because COVID restrictions will make it all such a hassle.
Me now: How much would a holiday to Novosibirsk cost?
Thanks for the excellent English listening practice.Everything was clear without "overcomplicated" vocabulary.
Loving these videos of Novosibirsk! 🇷🇺
Hello from Bangkok
It's good when the city retains it's identity and recognizability without turning into a faceless pile of concrete steel and glass.
Love this city spent happy times there 👍🇬🇧
Your smile is something. Love it
Thank you for showing me this love it and I was born here but I was adopted when I was 8 months old
The world juniors hockey tournament is there 22/23 just booked my room from Canada 🇨🇦
You are welcome 😊
Yes I was there in December. 4 days, what I missed here was the большой планетарий in novosibirsk. Beautiful! Opera, Aura the long bridge. I didnt knew that Novosibirsk was so modern. On my Russian tour I think this city is one of the top!
Thank you so much for the tour! This is my hometown that I haven't been to in five years and it was so nice to walk around and see how everything looks today.
Wow, its like my old city of Milwaukee, only it go better.
Idk how I ended up on your page but I’ve been enjoying it.
Really great production and editing on this video! Well done! Novosibirski is on my tourist bucket list for sure!
Novosibirsk is less than 130 yo, I think it's the main reason tourists would consider cities like Kazan and Ekaterinburg before Novosibirsk, at least I know I would. But yea looks like a lovely city
Impressive and beautiful city! Much love from Budapest!
Damn, now I wanna go to Novosibirsk!
Another great video by Fedor. You make it interesting, you make people want to go there.
Thank you so much Fedor. I love seeing your passion for making varied helpful videos in this channel, keep it up! Good luck always for Be Fluent in Russian. Take care. Cheers!
Thank you Fedor, and "Be Fluent" team! I am planning to go in Russia for the first time this summer, and honestly I only considered Moscow and St-Petersburg. I will add Novosibirsk in my "To visit" list :)
No way I’m traveling anytime soon with the pandemic and all, but one day, if possible, I’d like to see Novosibirsk, specifically to pay my respects to the polymath Ivan Sollertinsky, who’s buried there. He’s a bit of an obscure figure outside the classical music and theatre world, but I’ve been doing as much research as I can about his life, and after the insane amount of work he did, it’s sad to see how obscure he’s gotten. It would mean a lot to me to visit his grave.
Yes, but alas Putin👎 , with his poxxy "special vanity project" has set things back decades.
I love these videos and would love to see you use more russian words and explaining them in between like in your how russians live Video. Love your content and thanks for helping me improve my mother tongue (moved to germany when I was 3)
Great video. Thanks…I miss Novosibirsk so much. I been there about 200 times. One of the most beautiful cities in the world… not in means of architecture but in means of atmosphere and incredible nice people. It has something magnetic…. Planning soon to come back…
I have seen other videos of your beautiful city and it looks to be the most beautiful city in Russia ...thanks for a great video
Its so funny seeing these places that i have been many times when visiting my family there
Amazing city, great video, your channel is amazing
Bro, thanks for showing me part of the hometown of my future wife (?). To be completely honest, i even didn't know this city existed.....until i met a girl from that city!...And now i'm looking for information about it, and have add it to my "to visit" list!
Loving the videos Fedor, thank you.
Wow that theatre should be the center of Opera and ballet universe
Please do another tour like this. Stay safe and stay healthy 😁😁
Thanks for the tour :)
Could you do a video on talking about your day and asking other on theirs, love your videos btw

John Williams been to Kats Philharmonic Hall!?
That's cool
Great. Thank you.
I like living
Thank you very much for your nice videos and informations and we wait for more videos from different cities of the biggest and the greenest country of the world ( 😍 🇷🇺 🤩 )
Great video!
Very handsome and well spoken guide. Good looking and intelligent.
This fellow's English is exemplary!
Очень хорошо, could you do a tour of Moscow, Volgograd, or Saint Petersburg in the future?
very very chill
Wow, Аура literally looks no different than any typical shopping mall in the U.S. That's surprising and really cool. Nice tour, I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Yes i noticed the shops look like they had western names too with English spelling if im not mistaken
@@Vicariousleighilive.. Many so-called "branded" stores in the Russian malls have English names. Although for example on the wall of the mall outside there was a sign of the store "Снежная Королева ("Snow Queen") in Russian.
I was on a video call with my new friend from Novosibirsk today. I ask how cold. -21 wow. We met in Thailand +35 😊
John Williams was the Star Wars composer.
That's where my girlfriend lives!
liked this vid a lot
Keep doing well Fedor! Enjoy the beer at пиво Factory 🏭
Great!
You should make a tour about Нижний Новгород
perfective aspect of the verb will sound more natural to this context - "Я должен когда-нибудь навестить Новосибирск!"
@@SpankyHam Yeah, well... Maybe I'd LIKE to make visiting Novosibirsk a regular thing. In which case imperfective would be correct 😅😅😅😅
But I get what you're saying. And thank you for bringing it to my attention 😎😎

Sure beats the hell out of Buffalo, which might be up there with cities with the SHORTEST metro overall haha.

Dang, you have almost lost your accent completely, your english is almost as fluent as your native tongue, well done
Hi Fedor, I got recently very interested in Russian language, as well as the country and the culture. I have never been to Russia but I would definitely love to, and not only to Petersburg or Moscow.
I love the classical russian composers but would also be very interested in the youth culture. What kind of clubs and bars do you have? Are there special areas (in Novosibirsk) where young people go to party and what kinds of music is popular amongst young people? Would really love to get to know something about that!
Best regards from Germany!
I'm not Fedor, but I can answer you, if you don't mind
We have different kinds of clubs, some of them have dance floor, big or small, some don't. We also have smth like pubs and bars with certain amount of tables and all, so they are similar to those you have in Germany. Very popular thing in russian bars and clubs is hookah, you can find it almost everywhere. Popular music styles are rap (not nessesary russian one)/trap/hip-hop, e.g. May Waves, ЛСП, Kizaru, Morgenshtern, Imanbek, PHARAON, FACE, GONE.Fludd, Скриптонит etc.
@@wernerwarnung905 если честно, я сам не очень хорошо в этом разбираюсь, поэтому you had better google it :) I think it something like retrowave
Privet, mne ponravilos 👍👍👍🇸🇰
It looks cold when you filmed this, is there snow in the springtime?
Nice, do you host couch surfers?
Reminds me of Metro Exodus
Stânca Costești in winter 😮
I've got a virtual Russian tour after I finished this video

Strange days, strange ways.

_You should have shown the _*_MEGA_*_ mall instead of Aura!_ 😥
I want you !!! Forever
I follow several Russian travel & culture channels (e.g. check out Slava's "RussianPlus") and it always kills me how, when you go shopping, half the signs and logos are in English! 😂
Cool video I want to move to Novosibirsk can I rent your apartment?
Do u have German ancestors? I heard that Novosibirsk many Germans lived there
do you teach russian language ? and i want to settle down in russia permanently . which are the cheapest cities with all facilities with cheap house to buy ? thanks , i am from INDIA
the cheapest houses are in that part of Russia where the winter is very long and cold. It's unlikely that this will suit you.
Love the video but....... why in English? :(

Aren't Siberian Tatars the natives?
The territory of Novosibirsk contained no permanent Tatar settlements. It was a relatively empty, boggy wasteland before the Trans-Siberian railway crossed the Ob river here with a capital bridge. The city, called Novo-Nikolaevsk (New St. Nicolas) after its foundation, was a small town of Tomsk county before 1925, when the Communist industrial plan finally turn it to a modern, factory-packed city. Siberian Tatars live here among other people, and some of local objects still named on their language (Karakan river, Yurt-Akbalyk town and so on). Many of Novosibirsk locals have Siberian Tatar ancestors.
Why english ...
